I'm not sure if it is politics being discussed here. It sounds to me more like frustration over the lack of information that has existed right throughout the Communist era regardless of the country. Take the former USSR, where listings in the WRTH during the 70s provided only the metre band for shortwave while medium wave relied on monitors for information.
