Leaving the 27 eligible private FM radio companies in
the lurch, the government has, for the second time,
postponed the bidding for 97 FM radio stations across
48 cities. The bidding will now take place on December
29 and January 10. The Ministry of Information and
Broadcasting had earlier re-scheduled the bidding to
December 17 and January 7. No reason has been given
for the latest change.

5967.80, Bolivia Radio Nacional de Huanuni, Huanuni 0955 to 1020 weak,
audible with narrow filter each day. Usual om locator with slow espanol
accompanied by cochannel interference. 13 December [Wilkner-FL]
5996.42 Bolivia, Radio Loyola, Sucre 1006 clear mention of Bolivia at
tune in, and several references to Santa Cruz, 1010 brief music bridge,
another mention of Bolivia. Lost at 1020. 13 December [Wilkner-FL]
11092.5 usb St. Helena , Radio St. Helena 1830 to past 0000 with
varying signal quality, best when directed toward North America of
course. Was fascinated by the signal as the direction changed and the
antenna used here also changed. The medium wave Noise Reducing Antenna
was most consistent, but the 60 meter band dipole also worked well as
did the on the ground antennal. By 2030 signal was steady and readable,
enjoyed the music and announcements.
The Sony 2010XA pulled in the signal well at 2035 to 2040 at the nearby

Hello DXers,
I regret to report that my attempt at hearing KEVT during
the test was a flop. I had overwhelming QRM from WPHT in Philadelphia, Pa. and
couldn't null them enough using my home brew directional outdoor loop. I
switched to my long wire and managed to mostly null them using the MFJ
Versatuner II but then all I ended up with was a mish mash of at least four
stations down in the mud causing somewhat of a het and making all unreadable. I
tuned up on 1210 KHZ at 0700 UTC and worked at receiving their signal for two
hours before giving up. At least four times I briefly heard Spanish but not
readable and at the top of each hour I couldn't copy any station Id's in
English. Needless to say I couldn't get enough for a good reception report to
send to them. I guess that there's too many miles between KEVT and me. I hope
that other DXers had better results than I did. Good DX to all!

broadcast. Tuned in late today however. Noted news about Sweden, URL and ID
with brief

Spain, 6125, Radio Exterior Espana, 2300-2310, From 2300 to 2305 noted news
presented by a
male and female. At 2305, canned ID as,. "...en Radio Exterior Espana ...".
This followed with

United Kingdom, Cland, 6135, Radio Republica, 2308-2330 With Spanish comments
from various
persons. In between, music presented. During comments, many mentions of
"Cuba" and "Venezuela".
More music afterwards. At 2329, full ID as, "... Radio Republica ... la Voz de
Cuba ... la victoria .. Cubano". Signal was good but I can hear a bubble type
jammer inside of it. This probably originating out of Cuba.

I just received a group of photos taken at USCG Radio Station Guam/NRV in the
early 1980s. This was when Morse code was still alive and well, along with 500
kHz CW, etc. SITOR was just beginning to get off the ground and SATCOMM was not
even in the Coast Guard's vernacular (at least not on Guam!). If anyone would
like copies of the photos, I'll be happy to send them. Likewise, if someone
wants to post them somewhere, I'm sure that will be OK too.
