Russia: TWR receives award from Ministry of the Interior http://www.inspiremagazine.org.uk/news.aspx?action=view&id=1966 The Director of TWR (Transworld Radio) Moscow, Peter Ryazanov, was recently presented with an Award from the Ministry of the Interior of the Russian Federation for TWR's radio ministry to prisoners in Russia, thanking them for "their invaluable help in bringing spiritual instruction and education to the inmates".
This came at the end of a ministry tour involving visiting 532 prisons and 203 churches and covering a distance of 80,000 kilometres, reports the Fellowship of European Broadcasters. TWR broadcasts more than 70 hours weekly in 11 languages via shortwave and medium wave (AM) transmitters in Central Asia, AM outlets in St Petersburg and Grigoriopol and nearly 1,000 local stations.
