Hallo ? Perseus SDR offers a somewhat new feature named "AGC OFF". You find
three examples at:
http://www.4shared.com/dir/5128695/9f289e7a/sharing.html [password: A-DX];
their filenames each start with COMP:
* COMP VoA STP 4940: first 12 seconds normal SAM, than AGC OFF until the
end. Screenshot COMP VoA.jpeg shows, what happens.
* COMP AIR LEH 4760: First 10 seconds with AGC OFF, followed by 10 seconds
with AGC MED, and then again with AGC OFF until the end.
* COMP R Yura 4717: the same 18 seconds twofolded - first with AGC OFF, then
with AGC MED.
The examples had been chosen to show different behaviour in different
scenarios of the ratio of signal, noise, and pulses. Those parts "AGC MED"
had been "normalized" to get the same audio. "Audacity" does this job fine
as a freeware.
The results are quite promising. They show that Perseus' quality is far
beyond recording thick slices & watching carriers ...

Just a reminder that the test will air tonight/Tuesday morning with Morse
code, sweeps and voice announcements at approximately midnight, 1 a.m. and 2
a.m. Check the website www.dxtests.info for full details. Good luck
everyone.
