In Fallingrain I couldn't find any location called Turi in Lithuania, -- so
WRTH 1967 seems
wrong on this detail, and transformed the {former} Radio Ostland
transmission towards Lithuania.
During WWII another Turi tx was known, but on Estonia soil, was carrying
Radio Ostland (Nazi Germany program)

1554 kHz - Read WRTH 1969, page 130 under Radio Vilnius, more questions than
answers. I feel, these old WRTH's suffered by lack of real information. And
there was no help of keen Swedish or Finnish MW DXers with direction finding
equipment these days.
At present it would be very easy from a Swedish soil receiving post to
separate Turi-Estonia, Klaipeida-Lithuania, or Baranovitchi Belarus (former
Poland) signals - even on common USSR network.

Bolivia, 3310, Radio Mosoj Chaski, 1000-1015 Noted a weak signal here for a
few minutes until about 1005 when it started to fade in a little better. At
that time a male in Spanish comments was heard until about 1009. The male
"stepped aside" then for music which continued for a minute or two. At
1013, possible canned promos heard. Signal was poor to fair. (Chuck
Bolland, January 30, 2008)
Indonesia, 3976, RRI Pontianak,(pres) 1023-1035 Heard a female in
Indonesian language comments. At 1027 a male joins in with comments briefly
because music follows at 1028. Some ARO on the frequency temporarily cause
interference to a weak signal. (Chuck Bolland, January 30, 2008)
Bolivia, 4732, Radio Universitaria, 1048-1100 At tune in, noted music.
At 1055 a male with canned comments/promos and ID. Canned ADs included.
Signal was poor to fair and the CODAR didn't help much, "he said
sarcastically". (Chuck Bolland, January 30, 2008)
Peru, 4774.97, Radio Tarma, 1059-1105 At tune in, noted a live ID by a
male as, "...Radio Tarma ...". This was followed with brief music. At 1101
a female talks. Another ID at 1102. Signal was poor with splatter.
(Chuck Bolland, Janaury 30, 2008)
Peru, 5039.17, Radio libertad, (pres),1107-1115 Noted a male in steady
Spanish comments here. From content, the comments probably are the news
which lasts until 1115. At that time music is presented. The signal faded
from poor to fair and back again. (Chuck Bolland, January 30, 2008)

Lithuania or Estonia would be very likely in Jan 1967 from Seward AK as
it is basically a darkness path (at least a lot of it), but something
from Southwest Russia would be less likely.

Wolfy,
Then, I am am pretty much back where I started. hi. At least I do know
of the Lithuania/Estonia sites. But 700km South in Western Russia would
be very unlikely because the lack of a darkness path at 0930 UTC. At the
time, I was 17 years old and I knew nothing about propagation. I was
using a Norelco 17 transistor $125 portable that did amazingly well on
splits. Of course in those days, the whole state of Alaska had 18
stations and Seward had only a 50 watter on 1490 using a longwire
antenna, so QRM was very low.

AM receiver in the new Sony Ericsson ?R300i? & ?R306i?
Sony Ericsson has launched two entry-level handsets in
the Indian market.
The newly launched handset models ?R300i? and ?R306i?
has been priced between Rs 3,500-5,000. The company
claims that both handsets are designed to deliver
a"credible" radio-listening experience.
The R300i Radio phone includes a VGA camera while the
R306i has a 1.3megapixel camera. However, both phones
feature Bluetooth, GPRS and radiorecording.
The unique radio interface and the addition of an AM
receiver in the newhandsets show a specific focus on
the Indian market especially rural areas andwill help
us provide customers with an even better radio and
entertainmentexperience,? said Sudhin Mathur, general
manager, Sony Ericsson MobileCommunications (India).
Additionally two more models, T270 and T280 were also
launched by thecompany, but the prices of these
handsets were not disclosed. The company, a
joint-venture between Japan's Sony Corp (SNE) and
TelefonAB LM Ericsson (ERIC) saw mobile subscribers
grow by over 8.2 million lastmonth.
All the new phones would be available in the market
from January- March quarter this year.
