Peru, 6019.38, Radio Victoria, 0830-0840 Noted a female and a male in
conversation(Spanish), with each other. Between 0800 (if on) and 0857 UTC,
Radio
Victoria is in the clear. This freq isn't used by others (i.e. CRI, R.
Nederland)
until 0900 and later, so depending on the fade pattern, Radio Victoria can
be heard
pretty easy between 0800 and 0900. This morning is no exception, but the
natural noise level is tremendous making copy a "headache" to say the least.
The steady comments continued and the signal was poor. (Chuck Bolland,

I just happened to be listening to Radio Victoria last night at fairly good
levels right to 04:00 when CRI came blasting in on 6020 and destroyed any
chance for an ID at the TOH. Frequency appeared to be around 6019.44. (Walt
Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

** CUBA. Heavy jamming on 6100, June 16 at 0601 check against nothing --- R.
Rep?blica is on 6100 for only two hours in evening, and WHRI has tested Cuban
music recently around 0900-1300. At 1342, also jamming on 7365 but no WHRI
Cuban music audible this date; previously ran until 1500. 7365 jamming was at
about same level as against R. Mart? on 7405, also inaudible tho supposedly
runs until 1400. At 1436 recheck, jamming still on 7365, but jamming gone from
7405. BTW, WHRI 11785 was not on the air at this time (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. DentroCuban Jamming Command still running residual pulses on 7365,
June 19 at 1258 check, tho WHRI Cuban music tests are no longer there.
OTOH, RHC missing from 9550, June 19 at 1316; all the other frequencies on 11,
12, 13 and 15 MHz were on as usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KOREA NORTH. VOK, 11710, strong enough to audiblize its spur on 11644.1,
June 19 at 1310 in English to NAm. The spur more distorted than the
fundamental. Also could detect matching spur carrier on 11776, but buried under
PMS, Firedrake, and Firedrake victim. Also audible on // 9335 and // 13760 for
Europe, within a SAH of RHC and underneath it.
KCBS domestic service with choral music on 11679.8, June 19 at 1312. VOK
Chinese on 11735+ a smidgin above at 1325 June 19 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** NIGERIA. Usually hear nothing in summer on 9690 in the mornings, tho on a
good winter day AIR sesquihour in English to SE Asia at 1330 sometimes makes
it. So surprised to find fair signal with hilife music, June 16 at 1346; soon
IDed at 1348 as V. of Nigeria. For a while there was a fast SAH, possibly
India. Then at 1351 the VON signal suddenly increased to good S9+20 level, as
if they had pumped up the power or made an antenna switch, but maybe just a
propagational quirk. 1353 talked about singer Victor Olaya (sp?) from the
1960s. Modulation was at good level, but somewhat distorted; outro program
``Time for Hilife``. 1359 live YL announcer took over, said that show is
Mondays at 1330, ID, 1400 she went into newscast, as signal was fading down
again, and there was a pause of at least 30 seconds within, not sure if program
feed problem, or she was hunting for copy. A shorter pause later before ending
at 1405, with ID, into discussion show, but
unreadable by 1415, still audible at 1434. Wonder if it could have been by
longpath. No sign of this in the 1330-1355 period June 19 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 1413, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. Tone tests from WE2XFZ, Chilocco, OK, by the OSU
Multispectral Laboratory, have been heard on 540, 830, 1680 kHz and 107.5 MHz
by gh and other listeners in Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, June 16-18, detailed in
postings to MW DX lists, and in DX Listening Digests 8-070, upcoming 8-071, q.v.
A reminder from last year`s DXLD 7-085: THERE COULD BE SHORTWAVE TESTS TOO ---
PATROL THESE FREQUENCIES, 1 kW on USB, LSB, AME, also from the Chilocco OK
and/or Flying H, NM, but different callsign, WE2XEV, on
4015, 4085, 12115, 12185, 22015, 22085, 26115, 26185.
NTIA accepted these, but two more frequencies had not yet been accepted, 12415
and 12485 (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** VENEZUELA [non]. Sunday, June 15 observations of Al?, Presidente service via
Cuba: at 1418 on 13750 and 17750 synchronized, but weaker 11670 with a SAH was
unsynchronized, making an echo with the others. No signal on 13680. 11875 had
open carrier, which suddenly brought up program audio in progress at 1432 //
13750 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ###

Many thanks to Alfredo Cotroneo of NEXUS/IBA in Milan who has invited WORLD OF
RADIO onto the schedule of IPAR (International Public Access Radio) via IRRS,
150 kW on 7290, Fridays at 1930 UT. We hope this will bring WOR to many new
listeners in Europe and beyond. Reports invited. 73, Glenn Hauser
