Bolivia, 6134.80, Radio Santa Cruz, 1036-1045, Initially noted a female and
later a male conducting somekind of instruction/training
session. This continued until 1041 when music followed by canned
promos were presented. Signal was fair with Het interferring.
(Chuck Bolland, August 4, 2008)

Noise was very bad this morning. Hardly a signal noted on 4 MHz
this morning while just the stronger stations audible on 6 MHz.

Netherlands' public broadcaster Radio Netherlands Worldwide (RNW), has entered
into a partnership with Radio Misty 94.3FM, the North Bengal and Sikkim FM
station that will air a variety of RNW music parogrammes ranging from European
pop charts to classical, jazz and world music as also RNW radio books.

After a long-term presence in India with short wave and satellite radio
broadcasts, RNW has now begun to expand its activities in India.

Radio Misty is the first North Bengal and Sikkim FM station and has a reach of
80 km. The aim of Radio Misty is to connect the local people with more
interactive and innovative shows. "This meets the goals of RNW as well, because
we aim at multicultural interaction between different (local) people and
cultures in the world. One way of doing this is through programmes that
interest listeners internationally," says Jan Hoek, RNW's Director General.

Jan Hoek states that the new partnership marks the start of reaching a new
public via radio stations in India. "We are very pleased with the partnership
with Radio Misty FM. The swift and decisive way in which we came to this
arrangement promises a bright future for our cooperation with this dynamic
station.

Amitabh Srivastava, RNW Country Manager for India says, "This partnership is
our entry into Indian airspace through radio affiliation and getting the clear
message that RNW has arrived in India. After getting more then 3000 partners
globally, we hope more dynamic Indian stations like Misty will be benefiting
with informative and entertaining programming through us."

Radio Misty 94.3FM chief executive officer Nishant Mittal says, "It's great
that we are the first FM station in India to partner with Radio Netherlands
Worldwide. We hope this new venture between Radio Misty and RNW will open a new
chapter. It will bring a lot of innovative programmes to people of North Bengal
and Sikkim. We look forward to share new ideas in programming."

RNW has been the Dutch public service broadcaster in 1947. RNW provides news,
background and cultural programmes for an international audience in ten
languages. RNW's programmes and items that will be aired by Radio Misty are
'EuroHit40', 'European Jazz Stage', 'Live! at the Concertgebouw', 'Radio Books'
and 'La Salsa es mi Vida'

** ECUADOR [non]. HCJB missing from 9740 for German to Europe at 0630-0730, as
checked August 4 at 0635. Still on the schedules, as is German DRM at 2000-2200
on 15355-15360-15365 whose noise I was still hearing August 3.

Here`s the page which has not been updated, still showing 0900 MESZ on 9740,
and DRM at 1400 MESZ on 15350, which was replaced already in April by 2200 MESZ
on 15360! http://deutsch.hcjb.org/content/view/3/5/
Equally outdated is the Plattdeutsch page
http://plattdeutsch.hcjb.org/content/view/86/6/

Does HCJB really believe they have a bigger audience in Germany for DRM than
for analog?

Tough luck for the German DX program. Peter Kruse reminds us it`s this:
http://www.rmrc.de/content/C060_RMRCDXSendung/RMRC_Sendung.html
which is also outdated showing winter times and ex-frequencies
but Iris Rauscher from HCJB is to visit Frankfurt August 8, perhaps with bad
news.

Is HCJB`s Hi & Lo German to Mexico still on the air, 0230-0330 on 9780? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GABON. AN1, 17630, Aug 4 at 1353 good with music in French, 1359 ``vous
?coutez Africa Num?ro Un Radio,` 4-pip timesignal and into long talk segment,
presumably news. Time to start looking for // 19160 again, 2 x 9580, but
nothing heard there at this time (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INDONESIA. Astounded to find VOI the dominant signal on 11785, instead of
just a het, Aug 4 during the English broadcast, ex-9526. But it was still a bad
clash with VOI on 11784.9 or so, next being VOA Chinese, and Firedrake
underneath. If this had been a Sat or Sun, Hmong via WHRI would have surpassed
them all. At 1310 VOI ending news with address, 1315 with website
http://www.voi.co.id and This Day in History, brief bits about a shogun flag on
Aug 4, 1854, and about the 1960 birth of future Spain PM Zapatero. 1318 P O Box
address, e-mail english @ voi.co.id and then a talk about the Indonesian
International Defense Institute. The QRM was just too much to keep listening,
but if this had been on a clear 25m frequency, reception would have been very
good. Nearby open ones are 11770, 11790, or with Habana adjacent, 11765 and
11795. But VOI will never move within a band, just jump unpredictably back to
9526 or 15150 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
 DIGEST)

** SPAIN. Expect lots of your favorite programs to be blown away for Olympic
coverage; REE has already done that with Cl?sicos Populares, which had been
Mon/Tue/Wed 1305-1400, but Aug 4 at 1323 on 17595, 15170, instead heard nothing
but talk well past 1330 about the `pix, including that 25K Spaniards would be
going to Beijing, and that massive screens in Madrid would show the opening
ceremonies to ethnic Chinese in Madrid, no soundtrack in Castilian (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 13635, Turkish music just at tune in 1255 August 3. There was some
co-channel interference, which continued after TRT went off off at 1257. This
is TRT Emirler, scheduled 0700-1300 with 500 kW at 310 degrees toward us since
July 17, and CVC Darwin in English to S Asia until 1800. Why Turkey would have
moved onto CVC frequency is not clear. Also checked 13685 for the VOT English
broadcast aimed eastward, but nothing heard there, tho 15450 toward us has been
audible lately (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [non]. 15790, fair Aug 4 at 1320 with `Voice of America, Washington``
ID inserted into another language after Bollywood music, then talk about Obama.
This is Radio Aap ki Dunya, the Urdu service, now 332 degrees from Sri Lanka
and favorable for us, instead of 70 degrees from Kuwait as it was until June 1
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INTERNATIONAL VACUUM [non]. I have been noticing lately a big gap on the 49m
band, with hardly any signals of consequence between Anguilla 6090 and Bonaire
6165, e.g. at 0530 August 4. Who says 49m is crowded? Those with low noise
level might dig out some DX; otherwise, major broadcasters are missing an
opportunity (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ###

I've heard a weak carrier the last 3 evenings dead on 6210.0 kHz. from fade in
around 2200, and goes off at 2300.? Seems too regular for a Pirate stn. w/exact
same s/off time?each evening, and most Pirates are a little off-freq.? Anyone
else hearing this and have an idea what this could be?? Definitely too late for
Kahuzi, and Eibi lists nothing else on 6210.? Any help in ID'ing this would be
apprediated.
