St. Helena. The annual broadcast of Radio Saint Helena was carried out on
November 15 on 11092.5 kHz USB. The emission started at19.58 hours beamed to
Japan; in Sofia it was received with a faint signal but at 21 hours when the
antenna was pointed to Europe, the signal faded out and vanished. In order to
get the rare QSL card of Radio Saint Helena, your reception report must be
accompanied by 3 IRCs and sent to: Radio St. Helena, P.O.Box 93, Jamestown, St.
Helena STHL 1ZZ, South Atlantic Ocean.
New Zealand. Radio New Zealand International has introduced changes in its
schedule as follows: from 11 to 13 hours on 13660 kHz instead of 13840 kHz;
from 16.50 to 17.50 hours on 6170 kHz instead of 9765 kHz; from 17.50 to 18.50
hours on 9765 kHz instead of 11725 kHz and from 19.50 to 20.50 hours on 11725
kHz instead of 17675 kHz.
Cyprus. Two local stations from this country broadcast on short wave: Radio
Bayrak from Norther Cyprus with irregular emissions and Nicosia Broadcasting
Corporation. The latter is on the air Friday, Saturday and Sunday from22.15 to
22.45 hours on 6180, 7210 and 9760 kHz in the Greek language but confirms
reception reports in English from the address: CBC, P.O.Box 24824, 1397
Nicosia, Cyprus.
South Africa. The schedule of Radio “Channel Africa” is: on 3345 kHz from 03 to
04 hours and from 20 to 22 hours; on 7230 kHz from 04 to 07 hours; on 7390 kHz
from 03 to 04 hours; on 9625 kHz from 08 to 12 hours and from 14 to 16 hours;
on 9745 kHz from 05 to 06 hours; for one hour from 06 hours on 15255 kHz; from
15 hours on 17770 kHz and from 17 hours on 15235 kHz.
The weekly program of the South African DX League was received in Sofia on
November 20 from 08 hours on 17860 kHz and on November 14 from 19.05 hours on
3215 and 7082 kHz USB. The same program runs from 08 hours on 7205 and 7082 kHz
USB, too.
Spain. Radio Exterior de Espana broadcasts in English daily from 00 to 01 hours
on 6055 kHz to America; Monday through Friday from 19 to 20 hours on 9605 and
9690 kHz, and Saturday and Sunday from 22 to 23 hours on 6125 kHz to Europe and
Africa. The station no longer sends QSL cards but you can try the address: REE,
English Service, P.O.Box 156 202, Madrid 28080, Spain.
