1575 UAE, R. Farda relay, heard 1900 on 31 Dec w/pop mx and Farsi talk. Excellent sigs, as it should be w/800kW! 7295 MALAYSIA, RTM Traxx FM, heard at 1604 on 31 Dec w/hard rock mx, and EG DJ hyping the New Year. Really good programming and good sigs with medium fade, but clobbered by co-channel WYFR in Urdu. Pity..I will try again around 0000 when there should be no one else on channel, according to EiBi. 7315 SWAZILAND, TWR Relay heard at 1537 on 31 Dec w/pgm in Lomwe (listed), choir and preacher. Fair sigs with QRM from a co-channel Chinese station which isn't scheduled to be there. Happy New Year everyone! I hope this New Year is full of great DX and friends and family for each an every one of you! My big mediumwave DXpedition was cut short last night at 2350 local. Either the genset threw a wobbly or someone in the neighboring houses turned something bad on, but the entire mediumwave band is now trashed with a very bad buzz and hash. I was very dismayed by this and plan to do some investigating in an hour or so when daylight is full And if anyone ever wondered what nutjob dx'ers like myself did during their national service, here's a Wikipedia page dedicated to the Army Security Agency.
