Brazil, 5970, Radio Itataia,(pres) 0935-0945, Noted a male and
female in Portuguese language conversation. Except for a little
splatter, the signal was fair. (Chuck Bolland, May 11, 2009)
Brazil, 6089.92, Radio Bandeirantes,(pres), 0946-0955, Noted
a male in Portuguese language comments. A second male joins
in the comments via the telephone or a remote location feed.
At 0949, ADs presented. Signal was fair to good. (Chuck
Bolland, May 11, 2009)
Brazil, 6135, Radio Aparecida, (pres) 0952-1000, Noted music
for a minute at tune in, then a few live Portuguese comments
followed by ADs. Signal was poor. (Chuck Bolland, May 11, 2009)
Unident 6104.66, 1000-1005 Prior to the hour, noted a carrier here.
On the hour however, a very weak audio was heard which was only
music. I have had Mexico, XENK (6104.60) and Radio Filadelfia, Brazil
(6104.71) here before. At 1003, noted a male in comments. Could not
distinguish the language, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was ...? At
1005
music continued. Signal was worst then threshold if that is possible?
(Chuck
Bolland, May 11, 2009)
Clewiston, Florida
Watkins Johnson, HF1000
Not taking any chances today.

Subject: [HCDX] Distortion in Transmit Audio & CW Tone.....
Message-ID: <[email protected]>
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII"
Well folks. I have a bit of a problem and don't have a clue
what may be going on. I have a Kenwood TS-440S that I
have had for at least 10-15 years now. Up to 2 weeks ago
everything was working fine. I work phone and CW with
the radio. Here's the problem. When I work phone or CW
on 20,15,10 meters the audio and CW tone is distorted. It
sounds like RF is getting back into the rig but I have everything
grounded as well as an extra ground wire from the mic plug
to the radio ground to be sure I don't have a loose ground
on the mic. Listening on another radio, the CW tone has a
bit of a distorted kind of chirp. Hard to explain the sound.
50db/S9 it is loud. If you were to hear me at S4 you probably
wouldn't notice it at all. The phone audio is unusable. I am
using a Mosley CL-33 at 60 feet with a well grounded tower.
This is the same set up that I have used for years. Kenwood
antenna tuner as well as the internal tuner. I have changed
configurations around and nothing changes the problem.
Here is where it gets stranger. I have a 40 meter inverted V
at 40 feet that I also use on the same rig via antenna switch.
When I work 40, phone or CW, NO distortion. Clean audio on
phone and a nice clean tone on CW. Still through the same
tuner and antenna switch. Again, same setup on the rig and
antenna for 15 years.
I can get by with it on 20,15 and 10 CW but I would really like
to be able to work phone there also as I have done since I
was licensed in 1974. Only having 40 phone is getting a bit
boring.
Anyone have any ideas what might have happened in the last
couple of weeks to distort the upper bands? I would be very
grateful for any ideas or any help anyone can offer. I am going
to post this everywhere I think there may be a person that has a
thought concerning this problem. Thank you in advance. 73,

6070 05/02 0451 (CAN) CANADA, R CFRX, EE, from Toronto, with 1 kW, reference
to financial crisis in Canada, lively presentation the OM and YL, several
References to Canada, QRM of Radio Anhanguera in 6080 kHz, 23332
(JJFS-Feira de Santana BA-Brasil)
Agradecimento pela ID a Glenn Hauser:
?Jorge,
Yes, it is CFRX (not CRFX). Around the middle, they mention a phone number
starting with area code 905, which is Toronto, and a few seconds from the
end of the clip there is an ID for ``It`s one o`clock. This is CFRB...``.
You will never hear an ID for CFRX itself, the shortwave relay.
