Peru, 4857.46, Radio La Hora, 2302-2315 Noted a male in steady Spanish
comments or news. Could be news since he's mentioning a few place
names like 'Ecuador' and words like 'Ecomonico'. Signal was fair to good.
(Chuck Bolland, Octobere 26, 2009)

Peru, 4890.80, Radio Chota,(pres) 2323-2335, Noted a male in Spanish comments
with a female commenting in the background. In a way she is yelling something.
We got CODAR on top of Chota, so it's difficult to copy the audio. So much
noise here. The signal was poor. (Chuck Bolland, October 26, 2009)

Venezuela, (TENT), 4939.93, Radio Amazonas, 2330-2345, Tuned in while music in
progress. Afterwards a male comments in Spanish. At 2337 back to music.
Music sounds like its of the pop charts. Believe I heard "Venezuela" earlier
and also a name as "San Martin" later. Signal was fair but a lot of noise.
(Chuck Bolland, October 26, 2009)

Peru, 4955, Radio Cultural Amauta Huanta, 2340-2359, Noted a two males in
Spanish language comments. Heard mention place names from Peru during
talking. Also heard the word "...Amauta..." during live comments. At 2349
a female child(?) comments briefly. Signal was fair. (Chuck Bolland, October
26, 2009)

After having such a long dry spell, since May, I received MW QSL #3006
in todays mail.

1250 KCFM OR, Florence, received very friendly letter in 6 days
for CD report.
from Jon Thompson-GM/Owner. Address: 4480 Highway 101, PO Box 20000,
Florence OR 97439.

The station moved to a new tower setup and dropped to 900 watts. They
are using aKinstar system of 4 poles that are 70 feet tall, instead of
their 200 foot tower. "Kintronics recently got FCC approval on this
tower arrangement, but ours was the first commercial tower ever
constructed and tested."

73,

Patrick

Why Radio Heritage Foundation needs your donations
__________________________________________________

..........Every year we save more collections of Pacific wide radio
memorabilia from the trash can or the fireplace, find more forgotten
hours of audio, search out and rescue old magazines, books and
memorabilia that hold treasures of their time, save oral histories
and stories from radio pioneers, research historic features and
articles and bring you a taste of what's in our collections for free
at our global website www.radioheritage.net........

...........We're a registered non-profit organization and our total
income in 2008-2009 was just US$6300. This covers only a small
proportion of our operational costs [such as office overheads, power,
broadband, consumables, travel etc] and we can't afford to pay wages
so our full time volunteers have mortgaged their own home to
underwrite operational costs and their living expenses for 5
years.........

........... That's why your financial support, partnerships and
volunteer time is so important to us, because what you see at
www.radioheritage.net is only the tip of an iceberg of Pacific wide
radio
heritage you're entitled to share. We're regulated by the Charities
Commission in New Zealand with whom we file annual and financial
reports although we operate globally.

PPS...how are today's radio stories, popular culture connections and
heritage being saved for future generations in a digital world where
the click of a mouse can destroy thousands of images and hours of
audio?
