Hello Group,
As for Thomas Witherspoon's question of the Identification
of what he wasn't sure of his reception of Voice of Greece. I too picked it up
at 9420 KHZ @ 2107 UTC, you are correct, Tom.

I am interested also on hearing Voice of Greece;
however, here are my two cents of grain in something that worries me.

?

I am among the ones that likes to hear certain
radio stations and its interesting programs. To hear good programs ?including
the
religious ones- with no interruptions, no commercial ads, is great; just the
Real
McCoy and is something I love.

?

Apart from that, I follow propagation tips as
well and I also like to compare, how my KAITO 1103 performs against my Grundig
YB-400, stuff like that.

?

I still send reception reports to SW stations
and comments on the issues they put on the air and once in a while; very
seldom, I ask for a QSL card.

?

Going to the bottom of the issue; is it really Voice
of Greece
what I am going to hear? Is it really Voice of Vietnam
coming straight forward from ?Hanoi? or China Radio going out of Beijing? Or is
it a relay station I am
hearing at?

?

In the postings I constantly read at the forum,
I don?t see postings like (ej) Voice of Greece relay from CRI or so.

?

Now, is this station I will try to catch is
Voice of Greece
or a relay?

?

With due respect I ask.

?

To answere Luigi's question, Many broadcasters relay their programming
through Radio Canada Int'l, but I don't think that Voice of Greece is one of
them. I'm not positive on this and surely not an expert. Perhaps someone with
more knowledge on this subject will reply to this.

In most cases there does not need to be any doubt about what is a relay and
what is not. Just consult online references for the current (B-10) schedules,
such as HFCC, Aoki and EiBi. These are linked from my homepage
http://www.worldofradio.com

OR, the new World Radio TV Handbook 2011, just out, while HCDX footers are
still trying to sell the 2009! Where are you, Risto?

No, Greece is not relayed by Canada (or anywhere). 9420 is certainly VOG
direct. Lately apparently due to strike as in my previous post they have
abnormally been playing non-Greek music (and no/fewer announcements?).

Vietnam is relayed via Canada (only if you hear it on 6175 evenings). They also
have other relays and direct broadcasts.

CRI has numerous relays as well as direct broadcasts. Just look up the time and
frequency in the lists. If you are primarily interested in the programming, the
relays often provide better reception on the other worldside, so they are good
thing from that standpoint.

Some listeners don`t know or don`t care whether they are hearing a relay or
not, so don`t specify as such.

Mike, the translation IS CORRECT.

Muehlacker mediumwave TX location since 1931year will remain only as a
single FM tx installation and fm+tv transmitter engineer central service
point for SWR tx in south western Germany.

At present the station needs 380.000 EURO main power costs anualy.

9 engineers still work as bcing and maintenance central point at present.

In the 60ties the Muehlacker station had its peak power with SDR and AFN
Stuttgart location, served by 69 employees and engineers. This figure given
on a recent sightseeing tour in April 2010, when I visited the tx stn for
the fourth time in past 40 years.

Google Earth shows still the old SW 6030 kHz shortwave dipol, in north-south
lobe azimuth direction.
