Well said Victor, but the lengthy tirade was not really necessary. While I agree it is necessary to keep our DX reportage apolitical, but there would be some amount of cross-pollination when one is reporting on the content of the broadcast. Especially as many of us in the hobby were drawn to listening to these clandestines because we were curious to hear another point of view, however distorted that might be.
Perhaps one tirade, opens the door for another round of pontification? There is nothing like low politics as I consider all politics to be inherently low. Especially, the track record of the Sri Lankan government and the military in terms of human rights and race relations has not been exemplary. I know this first hand during my days as a reporter for ARD - German public television. Nor do I find the detention of foreign journalists (myself included) just because they have an Indian passport any bit amusing. I don't see such small mindedness figuring in a broadcast or any of my in-country friends coming out in support for that matter. In these parts we say content is king, but sometimes it needs to be taken with a pinch of salt.
