** BANGLADESH. 15505, Oct 7 at 1358, BB IS is JBA; possible imagination-level
timesignal already at 1359:23, earlier than usual (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL [and non?]. 4875, Oct 7 at 0102, the wandering squealing noiseblob is
right atop the R. Roraima carrier tonight; possibly of local origin (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CAMBODIA [non]. 13850, Oct 7 at 1300, no sign of RFA Khmer service which was
here last week, tho audible on 12140, poor with CODAR QRM. Searched entire 13
MHz band for a new //, but none found. 13850 had replaced 13845 collision with
WWCR, but not back there either. Plenty of Asian signals on the band otherwise.
Latest HFCC dated Oct 3 shows 12140 is due west from SAIPAN, and no other
frequency at 1230-1330; however at 1330-1430 more khm on 11695 via Iranawila,
Sri Lanka, which was the presumed site on 13850/13845 an hour earlier (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHAD. 6165-, Oct 7 at 0058:28 tune-in to fair signal with music, no doubt
RNT, almost covered up by RHC carrier at *0058.30. I must make a point of
checking this earlier, as two seconds is not enough. However, N`Djamena
stronger than usual and can still hear it under RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. Firedrake [non] search for CNR1 jammers Oct 7 at 1347-1353: none
found in the out-of-band areas from 19 to 12 MHz, just weak 13830 very poor,
15265 fair, 15115 good. See also TIBET [non] off-frequencies probably
accompanied by CNR1 two kHz away (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6060, Oct 7 at 0059, RHC with multi-lingual ID (including I think,
long-deleted Guaraní); back on here instead of oops, spy frequency 5855 last
night (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EQUATORIAL GUINEA. 15190, Sunday Oct 6 at 1922, R. Africa with American
gospel huxter in English, fair signal. Was not on less than an hour earlier,
but when does it start? Probably as variable as the ending. Rich in Burr Ridge,
IL heard them until 2227* today (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INDIA. 11985, Oct 7 at 0055, AIR Delhi-Khampur, bits of modulation blips
cutting on and off, like a malfunxioning internet feed, alternating with dead
air; 0103 still, also could be described as fast-forwarding tape intermittently
hitting the heads. The signal level, anyway, is good with flutter. So much for
the Sinhala service on this frequency. Supposedly // 11740 via GOA is doing
much better at 0055 with talk in presumed Sinhala, also good with flutter
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH. 15575, Oct 7 at 1308, KBS WR in English with news about Comfort
Women, a sore point with the Japanese; initially sufficient signal except for
het on 15573, no doubt V. of Tibet via Tajikistan, and fortunately the CNR1
jammer is not on 15575, but apparently 15570. By 1343 recheck, KBS has faded to
very poor but the het is gone (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 770, Oct 7 at 1227 UT, gobierno federal promo for La Hora Nacional
Sunday at 10 pm (same heard on some other station this morning), ad for
internet provider totalplay.mx and 1228 jingle for Los 40 Principales, Sinaloa
state government PSA. So it`s per Cantú:
770 XEREV Los 40 Principales + FM 104.3 Los Mochis, Sin. 5,000 100
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 820, Oct 7 at 1236 UT, WBAP in a fade so no problem hearing Spanish
political commentary mainly about events in Washington looping WSW; then WBAP
resurges. Recently IDed XEABCA here, but there is another possibility from the
Los Mochis hotspot; Cantú:
820 XEABCA Radio Frontera Mexicali, B.C. 3,500 500
820 XEUDO  Radio UdeO (Univ de Occidente) + FM 89.3 Los Mochis, Sin. 1,000 250
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 850, Oct 7 at 1220 UT, timecheck for 7:20, Milenio Radio program
promos mentioning 103.7, Chihuahua, easy with KOA nulled. So it has to be XEM
again, but the time there is CST = 6:20! Maybe just a mistake, or cut from DF
feed and timezone to local items. Cantú:
850 XEM Milenio Radio + FM 103.7 Chihuahua, Chih. 5,000 500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1100, Oct 7 at 1202 UT, M&W with lo-key news in Spanish, loops
WSW/ENE; 1207 losing to QRMusic. I don`t get much weak-signal DX on 1100 due to
a birdie in the DX-398. Looks like one of only two in N/W XE-land, per Cantú:
1100 XEBAC Radio Asunción + FM 95.7 Bahía Asunción, B.C.S. 1,000   D
1100 XENAS Única + FM 95.5          Navojoa, Son.          1,000 500
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1210, Oct 7 at 1231 UT, C&W music, 1232 ``US Country`` ID, so I
finally manage to hear KGYN Guymon again, but poor signal. Either on reduced
power, or atoning for running ND day pattern 24 hours for months, by running
night pattern 24h now, with null toward us and Philly. Yesterday I had asked
David Cole in Goodwell to check whether KGYN was on the air, and he said it was
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Oct 7 at 0055, R. Chaski barely audible with music past 0100,
splash at first severe from 5990 CRI Cuba; cutoff at 0106:12* which is 7
seconds later than yesterday (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** RUSSIA. 5930 // weaker 5940, Oct 7 at 1247, R. Rossii with electronic music
barely budging from one note with a beat, rather trance-inducing? 1252 finally
morphs to a few more notes, but 1255 wrapping up announcements. 5930 = Pet/Kam,
5940 = Magadan (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TIBET [non]. 15573, Oct 7 at 1308, weak signal but plenty to het 15575 KOREA
SOUTH [q.v.], no doubt V. of Tibet via TAJIKISTAN. Other off-frequencies like
this too:
15548 at 1311 Oct 7, vs 15550 CNR1 jammer
15348 at 1347 Oct 7, vs 15350 in S Asian language --- VOT not normally this far
in-band, so unID but suspicious; 15350 is Athmeeya Yatra R. (Gospel for Asia)
eastward from Nauen, Germany, during this quarter-hour on Mondays in Marwari,
per Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 9540, Oct 7 at 1356, VOT interval music, poor with fast SAH
presumably from weak Cuba. This precedes Arabic at 1400-1500, 250 kW, 150
degrees from Emirler; and could be long-path now (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9850 & 9870, Oct 7 at 0104, buzzy spurs from 9860 WHRI are still
here, QRMing 9870 India/Turkey, and about to bother 9850 Albania at 0130 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 820, Oct 7 at 0607 UT, Redeye Radio from WBAP has a slight reverb
echo on it, especially when nulled, no doubt from other 820 affiliate, WWBA in
Largo FL, 50/1 kW. I wonder if they make an effort to synchronize, compensating
for a satellite delay to FL from originating TX, minimizing echo which could be
a lot worse between them than here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1110, Oct 7 at 1212 UT, talk in S Asian language mentions English
terms ``Islamic Association of Carrollton`` and ``Islamic Association of North
Texas``; 1214 brief Qur`an bits mixed with S Asian talk. NRC AM Log 2013 shows
KVIL, Mineral Wells TX as ethnic ``Radio Dhanak``, 50 kW daytime, 38 kW
critical hours. A.k.a. Pakistani American Radio:

http://www.1110amradio.com/index.html
so I wonder if it`s all in Urdu or not. Makes slow SAH with KFAB; by half an
hour later I`m only hearing KFAB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1210, Oct 7 at 1211 UT tune-in, immediate ID as ``la nueva Radio
Cristiana network``, surely KUBR in San Juan TX. See also OKLAHOMA: KGYN (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN. 17530, Oct 7 at 1311 as I tune across, carrier goes off; Greenville
warming up for later transmission? No, apparently SMG, as comes back on at
*1313 with VOA Somali in progress, very good signal today, when it`s on (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1521, Oct 7 at 0107 UT, lite het upon 1520 KOKC, probably Saudi
Arabia; no other TA carrier frequencies detectable (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
