Africa, fair signal but undermodulated preacher in English; much better signal from 15275 DW RWANDA; 15190 still on at 2103 check and modulation even lower to JBM level (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** INDIA. 11985 // 11740, Oct 8 at 0057, AIR Sinhala service is axually funxioning on both frequencies tonight! 0058 into music. 11740 GOA is somewhat stronger (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NORTH AMERICA. Pirate activity is apparently up on the assumption that the FCC`s near-total closedown will make it even less likely to get busted. Three or four stations at once on the pirate-band! 6950.7-AM, Oct 8 at 0052 music and English announcement; no fifth harmonic of local 1390 KCRC absent at the moment tho sometimes it cuts on as if something is shorting; but there is briefly some QRM from Spanish 2-way on 6950-USB, possibly a legit Mexinet. Still going at 0112 with music, and still weak; 0119 signal surges briefly during rock music; and at final check 0143. HFUnderground logs say it`s The Crystal Ship. 6935-USB, Oct 8 at 0054, rock music past 0059, much stronger than 6950-AM station. At 0100 tentative ID as Ronin Radio? 1-2-1 counting. 0111 next check, it`s off. This matches many logs in HFUnderground as Wolverine Radio. 6925-USB, Oct 8 at 0054, even stronger rock music than 6935; cuts off at 0056* but it`s just a pause with no modulation as synthetic voice comes on with ID sounding like ``Al-Tee-Oh Radio``, then string of greeting to HF Underground, various individuals ending with Andrew Yoder, then same announcement repeated, and ``73s for now, until next time`` ending at 0057. Lots of logs at hfunderground.com agree it`s LTO Radio. 6925-AM, rock music at 0127. Slightly on the lo side of 6925. Still at final check 0143. HFUnderground logs say this is MAC Shortwave. Meanwhile, I am paying more attention to Radio YHWH on 9775; below (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) ** NORTH AMERICA [non?]. 9775-AM, I finally catch the strange pirate Radio YHWH, which was first reported by Dan Sheedy on 6010 and 5990, and by Bob Larose on 9775, both listening in S California. Bob had it UT Sept 28 during this same hour. I`m usually checking this area for Turkey spurs, etc., but never found it till: Now, Oct 8 at 0105 there`s a poor signal in English with ID as Radio YHWH, and long monolog/sermon. He`s badly squeezed between two stronger signals splashing about equally, Turkey in Spanish from 9770, and VOA in English from 9780 Sri Lanka, so there`s no advantage to listening in USB or LSB. At 0109 also brief QRM from modulation spike spurs, which I expect to be ex WWV 10000 except that fundamental is not very strong tonite; maybe from 9860 WHRI supersignal. The 9775 carrier is steady and almost on-frequency compared to neighbors; well-modulated, it just needs to be stronger. At 0110 preacher talks about animal sacrifices, cites Judges XI:30; 0121 still about sacrificing; refers to an ISBN number. 9775 signal almost fades out but occasionally peaks better, such as 0130 and 0131. 0133 cites Jeremiah XXIII:6, Matthew XXVIII:18, Zachariah XIV:9. 0136 carrier off and right back on. 0139 asserts there will be no second-coming, nor 1,000-year reign. Apparently views obsession with Jesus as an obstacle to direct contact with Yahweh (God). 0140, ``Thanks for listening to Radio Station YHWH --- I have another show on the Jewish viewpoint on the coming of the Messiah``, refers to a book © 1981. Still going past 0145 when I tune-out. Googling on Radio YHWH or Yahweh gets a number of hits, apparently mostly podcasts but nothing linked to 9775. Maybe some of them are being played on this frequency. This of course reminds us of the licensed but long-dormant WMLK, Assemblies of Yahweh in Pennsylvania, which is supposedly working on getting a 250 kW transmitter and antenna operational, always registered on 9265 and 9955. But this speaker is not its late EJOM. Strangely enough, searching HFUnderground.com on YHWH and Yahweh gets zero hits.
