BRAZIL 4754.8 R. Imaculada 0019-0030 Rosary read by M and W. Took a
quick break w/mx bridge once then continued with the Rosary. Had a rel. song
after the Rosary w/W vcl. Was able to // to the webstream which was 5 seconds
behind. When I came back at 0215, this was gone. Pretty far off-freq. Fairly
good signal this evening. (31 Jan.)
USA 1203.53 WBML, Macon GA Brett Saylor was able to get an ad this
morning for Barnum & Baileys Circus which included a telephone number and WBML
ID. Incidentally, the circus was in fact in Macon this evening while I was
hearing this off and on between 0130-0210 which was indeed // to their
webstream which was about 6 seconds behind. So the mystery as to who this is
is solved. But, why are they up on this freq. They broadcast on 900 and 1150
khz. Thanks Brett for help. (31 Jan.)
PAKISTAN 11600 R. Pakistan (pres.) Pleasant AR-like whistling mx at 1258.
Came back at 1300 and what sounded like the usual choral NA until the signal
went off at 1301:11. 15730 was also on and there (no audio noted) at 1300, but
was gone when I rechecked just seconds after 11600 had gone off. (31 Jan.)
PAKISTAN 15725 R. Pakistan Signal came on 1325 or 1326. IS start 1327:28
but low modulation. Getting the usual rapid "tapping" local QRM. Very
annoying. (31 Jan.)
UNID. 6115 R. Congo?? There's someone on with DRM from 0530, but I could
see another signal come on at 0551:00. Then when the DRM went off at 0557, I
could hear a M tlking, and then mx over ToH. The signal seems just strong
enough to get some clues, but it appears the modulation is just too low. It
peaked at 0607 but still wasn't enough. Faded then, and Japan took over after
0705. So there's definitely someone there, and the sign on time seems right.
Its going to take good conditions to bag it. (1 Feb.)
BRAZIL 6104.69 R. Filadelfia 0916 soft tlk by M in PT, Father Jadir
Jacinto according to their sked. Sounded like a het here too but there wasn't
anyone else on the freq until 0926. 0925:20 M w/website, then into lively ZY
rel. Pop, then a slower song at 0928. // to their webstream which was 9
seconds slow. (1 Feb.)
SOLOMON ISLANDS 9545 SIBC/R. Happy Isles 0944 lively island song. 0957
song anmnt and pgm notes by M, 1000 same M w/"...SIBC, R. Happy Isles..." ID,
promo ending w/ID, tlk, then back to island mx at 1003. 1013 M DJ returned
after island song, IDs, then ad w/ID, more tlk by M w/W. Slop QRM from 9540
China. Much better and clearer on the Delta Loop than on the Wellbrook.
5019.87 was also there but slopped over by Rebelde. (1 Feb.)
BRAZIL 4774.97 R. Sora de Congonhas Caught end of canned anmnt by M at
2252 t/in, then discussion w/laughing and live mx (just guitar and singing).
Same anmnt at 2300 as at 2252. I've heard this same program from them before.
Really nice signal at t/in. (2 Feb.)
LIBERIA 4760.005 ELWA Choral singing at 2254. 2258 very brief anmnt by M
(a few words), then more choral singing over ToH, although there appeared to be
a few time ticks in there. Went right into another song at 2304. Still going
with chornal singing at 2316. (2 Feb.)
CUBA 4765 R. Progresso Getting distorted spurs on 4709, 4737, 4793, and
4821. (3 Feb.)
UNID. 9910 KTWR?? Fairly decent signal here at 1250 w/M tlking in Asian
lang. Could hear another station underneath very weakly w/W tlk then mx. The
UNID. went off abruptly at 1252:22. It was probably KTWR left on by accident.
(3 Feb.)
TAJIKISTAN 15374.968 R. Free Asia (via Tajikistan) Tlk by M in Tibetan at
1213, but jammed by massive CNR1 on 15374.990. (3 Feb.)
PAKISTAN 15730 R. Pakistan OC on this freq today as early as 1308. IS
started at 1324:37. They should be on 15725. The IS then stopped at 1325:27,
and the signal left the air at 1325:36 and reappearing almost immediately on
15725, no doubt after the engineer discovered the mistake. Then the IS started
on 15725 at 1327:57. Horrible propagation conditions this morning but some
interesting things happening on the bands. (3 Feb.)
BRAZIL 11735 R. Transmundial No audio present at around 1015 when first
tuned in. Strong signal. Finally audio on at 1023:18, then going off and on
for a few minutes and then staying on. Canned anmnts w/website info, etc. (6
Feb.)
ECUADOR 6050 HCJB Having trouble this morning. No audio at all from
around 1015 as well. Audio noted finally at 1047 but distorted. (6 Feb.)
No sign of R. Tarma or R. Cultural Amauta by 1040. The latter finally on at
1054 check. Seems R. Libertad de Junin is gone. (6 Feb.)
PERU 4985.5 R. Voz Cristiana OC came on at 1104:05, but went off at
1104.40. Back on at 1105:33, and off again 17 seconds later. On for only a
couple seconds at 1107:24. Did the same thing again at 1122:18. Didn't seem
to come back on. (6 Feb.)
CLANDESTINE Both 6348 Echo of Hope and 6518/6600 V.O. the People unjammed
when I checked at 1217-1222. (6 Feb.)
CHINA 17080 CNR1 (jammer) Tlk by W and short actuality by M at 1240.
Jamming Sound of Hope. Nothing heard under CNR1. (6 Feb.)
CHINA 18970 CNR1 (jammer) Again, tlk by W in CH at 1244, //17080. SOH is
supposed to be here too. (6 Feb.)
CHINA 13970 CNR1 (jammer) Canned promos including an ID by M at 1251,
//17080. Good. SOH is supposed to be here, nothing heard. (6 Feb.)
CHINA 10000 BPM Time ticks about a 1/3 of a second behind, 1258. 1259 CW
IDs to 1259:30, then W anncr briefly but not the old slow BPM voice IDs. Prob.
time anmnt. (6 Feb.)
UAE 21780 Deutsche Welle (via UAE) 1306 tlk by M in Hausa, some sound
bites of W tlking and brief Afro mx. This was the highest freq for a SW
broadcaster. // weaker 15275 (Kigali). (6 Feb.)
CHINA 15265 CNR1 (jammer) 1312 pgm of traditional Chinese mx w/occas.
anncr. Mx much like that of Firedrake. Jamming Taiwan on 15265.16. Strong.
(6 Feb.)
CHINA 15375 CNR1 (jammer) 1319 same traditional mx pgm as heard on 15265,
jamming R. Free Asia in Tibetan here. (6 Feb.)
CHINA 15510 CNR1 1320 found here also w/massively strong signal with the
mx pgm //other freqs, but BBC also heard underneath. (6 Feb.)
PAKISTAN 15725 R. Pakistan Not very strong today w/IS at 1326. (6 Feb.)
TAIWAN 5910 R. Shiokaze Signal on at 1329 but audio barely there at 1330
opening. Guess our yearly window is about closed for this. (6 Feb.)
DJIBOUTI 4780 R. TV Djibouti 0200 nice signal w/M chanting/singing. Same
thing they've done in the past all night locally. (7 Feb.)
EGYPT 11904.47 R. Cairo (pres.) Noticed a signal here when checking SLBC
at 0205. Definitely tlk by M very weakly 0209-0214. Signal strength was on
par with SLBC though. Never heard anyone else here before. Eqypt is listed at
this time. Makes for a bad mess. Thanks Ron Howards help. (7 Feb.)
UNID. 4755 Signal here at 1133. Very weak and not strong enough for audio.
Too late for Brazil. Finally went off at 1159:31. Never did get any audio.
(7 Feb.)
BRAZIL 6136.68 R. Aparecida 2332 pleasant MOR ZY vcl song, ad block at
2335, mx bridge, then live M DJ starting w/ID and tlk. Way off freq.
//5035.003, 9629.657, and 11854.845. (7 Feb.)
BRAZIL 9586.33 Super R. Deus e Amor Decent carrier at 2340. M preaching
at 2343. Some canned anmnts mixed w/mx. A tremendous amount of adjacent QRM
from 9585 and 9590. // to the webstream which surprisingly had almost no
delay. (7 Feb.)
UNID. 4755 Again observed this signal to about 1159:35 sign off. Very very
poor conditions today and was only able to "see" the signal. (8 Feb.)

USA 7506.523 Fine S=9+30dB signal of WRNO New Orleans, male singer of easy
listening at 0432 UT Febr 9, then patriotic song "Glory, glory hallelujah
...
His truth{?} is marching on" at 0445 UT.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Febr 9)
7385 WHRI logged in 0400-0430 UT slot. Female singer then at 0428 UT Febr
9, followed of extend ID, program and address, repated once til 0429 UT,
program end. Carrier on air last later, but was OFF when checked again at
0444 UT. So seemingly ends regularly program at around 0429 UT.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Febr 9)
in 60 mb heard also this morning from 0345-0500 slot
4765 R Progreso S=9+10dB, female singer " La Vida ...".
4875.086 R?diodif. Roraima, Boa Vista RR, National Anthem at 0400-0403 UT,
then TX close-down.
4949.751 R Nacional de Angola, Mulenvos very tiny and lowest modulation at
0408 UT Febr9.
4975.966 Rather powerful R Uganda Kampala morning police report of the
sub-regions, in finest Cambridge Albion's English language
reader. 0410 UT Febr 9, S=9+30dB.
7205.0 Sudan Radio here with Arabic political news at 0422 UT, few times
Sudan and Olympic Games mentioned, strong at S=9+25dB.
(wb, wwdxc BC-DX TopNews Febr 9)

U S A. 7505, WRNO, New Orleans. Finally WRNO is already on 7505
after months in range 7503-7504.5. On 11/1 with news in English at
0200 (Rumen Pankov, Sofia, Bulgaria. (Sony ICF 2001, 16m Marconi
antenna), Australian DX News Jan/Feb 2014 via DXLD)
Must have been a fluke; in Feb still heard here when active circa
7506.6, and I don't think it was ever below 7505. Was the news from
Deutsche Welle? (Glenn Hauser, DXLD)
7506.6, Feb 1 at 0257, I am mainly hearing a TADIL-A bonker, but
measure a carrier here, which must surely be WRNO's, just barely
modulated in music, then barely modulated in talk, still unreadable.
Hard to decide if it's propped out, too close, or on low power.
Anyhow, 7490 WBCQ is much stronger now at thrice the distance.
7506.6, Feb 6 at 0250, no signal from WRNO. I was checking since
someone recently reported they had returned to 7505, or even lower
