Italian "time station" ITALCABLE on SW has already 2 programs: they play
different music between time announcements on 10 and 15 MHz. Beautiful! I can
hardly wait to hear the 3rd program on 5 MHz. No other time station provides us
with such selection.

** ASCENSION. 7325, Feb 10 at 0632, BBC Hausa has a humbuzz and unstable
carrier (before 0630 it`s French via Woofferton here) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST) See also SPAIN [and non]

** AUSTRALIA. 15340, Feb 10 at 1429, S Asian music and talk, no English ID
circa 1430 but no doubt HCJB Reaching Beyond Kununurra, scheduled to switch
from Urdu daily to Bengali Mondays only. Audible because RHC is missing again
from this morning frequency.

BTW, there may be technical problems at HCJB-Au since they advise Rob Wagner,
ARDXC that ``the creek is at high flood`` now in the peak heavy rainy season in
far northern tropical Australia (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL [and non]. 9665v, Feb 10 at 0636 tune-in, audible despite het caused
by its offfrequencyness, altho not pinpointed this time, jingle ID as ``a
melhor esta??o, R?dio Voz Mission?ria``, then Brazilian version of ``Feste
Burg`` hymn. Surely not the best station when it comes to frequency accuracy,
presumably still on the low side.

BTW, HFCC B-13 shows *nothing* on 9665 between 05 and 09, tho anyone turning on
a radio will hear this --- because Brasil, surely the major nation besides the
US with private broadcasters all over the ISWBC bands from 6 to 11 MHz, refuses
to protect them by registering in HFCC; and because, as per Aoki, the
on-frequency hetter at this hour must have been another shunner of HFCC (or
vice versa?), KCBS P`yongyang, which is on 9665 for 22 hours a day, 50 kW,
non-direxional (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 17770, Monday Feb 10 at 1424, CNR1 with flutter and CCI; I
can match it to part of the jamming an echo apart on 9825 et al. So what`s the
target? HFCC shows nothing on 17770 between 10 and 15! But Aoki has the answer:
VOA Tibetan at 14-15 Mondays only! 275 degrees from Tinang, PHILIPPINES. 275??
That`s not toward Tibet at all, but Rangoon, south India and Somalia; Lhasa is
more like 305 degrees from there, 30 degrees off.

Anyhow, the ChiCom have found this Monday frequency, tsk2, so why bother to
jump around which only makes it harder on would-be listeners? Searching Aoki
finds the other ones for this hour only: Sun 17755, Tue 17790, Wed 17810, Thu
17830, Fri 17860, Sat 17880. BTW, as late as 1424, adjacent KVOH 17775 is
nothing but a JBA carrier, not propagating yet (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15340, Feb 10 circa 1430, RHC is AWOL again, audiblizing HCJB
AUSTRALIA, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** HUNGARY. 24971-USB, Feb 11 at 1505, HA0NAR is QRZ and briefly working
numerous eastern USA stations; says he`s in eastern Hungary, name LACI, which
per QRZ.com lookuup must be a nick for:
HA0NAR
DR. LASZLO RADOCZ
130. ROZSAVOLGY STR.
DEBRECEN H-4225
Hungary
At this time 12m seemed to have more activity than 10 or 15
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1140, Monday Feb 10 at 1350 UT, I am trying again to hear any
Spanish from Kansas City. There is dominant Spanish here but considerable QRM,
which could be from KC, but more likely from opposite XEMR, Monterrey NL, which
is holding up later than usual today. It`s a monolog sermon about fe, which
keeps running past 1400 UT until 1404 UT quick conclusion with jingle `Vida
Santa` as name of program, or was it `Vida Sana`? Possibly a real ID followed
at 1406, but fading into the jumble.

I hope there`s a program schedule at the XEMR website. Cant? linx merely to
this:
https://www.facebook.com/RadioEsperanza1140
which has recent posts, but can`t find a schedule or the name above. FB linx to
its real website http://www.radioesperanza.mx/ which does have a programaci?n
page but woefully incomplete, covering only certain blox, nothing shown before
10 am. Searching there on ``vida santa`` leads only to a couple mentions of
that phrase last June and July, not a program, while ``vida sana`` leads to a
triplet of just as unuseful hits.

BTW, the Cant? list
http://mexicoradiotv.com/nuevoleon/index.htm
specifies transmitter town for numerous Monterrey stations if elsewhere, such
as Apodaca NL for XEMR, and Guadalupe NL for several others (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SPAIN [and non]. 21630, Monday Feb 10 at 1410 check, BBC Hausa vs ASCENSION
has CCI underneath from REE, which is *still* here, despite shift to 21640 on
weekends only, when it also conflicted with WHRI later. And despite WRTH Update
item claiming that the REE change from 21630 to 21640 for Central America is
every day of the week, at 13-16 M-F, 13-17 Sat/Sun. HFCC shows both frequencies
registered from Noblejas with exactly same parameters every day between 13 and
17. As soon as the shift to 21640 on weekends happened, I kept reporting that
it had stayed on 21630 weekdays despite BBC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1707 monitoring: confirmed on Area 51 via WBCQ
5110-CUSB, UT Monday Feb 10 starting at 0403.5, after Jean Shepherd ran a bit
over.

BTW, `Pirates Week` which used to air at 03-04 some weeks, has not shown up for
a couple of months, so removed from the DX/SWL/Media programs schedule. However
various pirate program produxions have been running after, and sometimes
before, WOR. Altho Area 51 could resume a UT Saturday schedule since Brother
Scare has departed 5110, here`s the latest lineup from
http://www.worldmicroscope.com ---

Area 51 schedule for February 8-9, 2014.
Saturday [UT Sunday Feb 9]
0000 Radio Timtron Worldwide (live);
0200 The Lumpy Gravy Radio Show (live);
0300 The Scream of the Butterfly;
0400 Radio Clandestine;
0500 off.

Sunday [UT Monday Feb 10]
0000 Church of the Subgenius Hour of Slack;
0100 Plastic Magic (live);
0300 The Jean Shepherd Show;
0400 Glenn Hauser?s World of Radio 1707;
0430 Undercover Radio;
0500 off.

However, the reduced carrier on 5110- was still audible at 0538 and 0626 chex
Feb 10, but no modulation.

Next WOR airings:
Tue 1200 & Wed 1400 on WRMI 9955
Wed 0730 & 1530 on HLR 7265-CUSB
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Bolivia, 4716.661, Radio Yatun Ayllu Yura, (pres) 0050-0100, Noted a
threshold signal here with Sp

comments fading in periodically, but not steady. Signal is very weak and
comments are almost

impossible to hear. At 0056 believe I hear music. At 0058 possibly a
female comments.  Nothing

heard after 0100. (Chuck Bolland, February 11, 2014)
