** BRAZIL [and non]. 11780, Sept 16 at 0544, RNA is off! Not due to
propagation, as the #2 25mb signal from Brasil, Aparecida on 11855, is good in
Brazuguese having just attained #1 status.

6180, Sept 16 at 0548, poor carrier with no? modulation, maybe RNA or something
else, as has already been ailing on this frequency for several nights; still
nothing on 5990 either.

11780, Sept 17 at 0058, RNA is back on here with usual bigsig.

6180, Sept 17 at 0058, two weak stations making a rhumble LAH, presumably QRP
RNA and CRI East Turkistan. 6185 Mexico is much stronger, good for XEPPM (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, Sept 16 at 0547, RHC English is off again during this hour,
leaving only four overkill frequencies (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 13850, Sept 16 at 0541, R. Cairo good signal but suppressed and
distorted modulation of Arabic music, talk (did not check 9315, 9965, 11710,
12070 earlier this date).

12070, Sept 17 at 0100, R. Cairo VG signal but hum and distorted suppressed
presumably Spanish modulation

11710, Sept 17 at 0101, R. Cairo must finally be back on here after missing a
couple weeks to the relief of RAE listeners, but now the nasty het is back
against it, without any audible modulation vs Japanese from General Pacheco,
GBA, 11711-

9315, Sept 17 at 0103, R. Cairo with good signal, but JBM, suppressed only
audiblizing distortion at modulation peaks

9965, Sept 17 at 0108, R. Cairo VG signal with flutter, whine as loud as the
Arabic which is not very distorted (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 9420 & 9935, Sept 17 at 0116, no signals from ERTOpen; maybe back
tomorrow (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** LITHUANIA [and non]. UNIDENTIFIED. 9392-9409, Sept 17 at 0117, coverage of
OTH radar pulsing, strong but only 17 kHz wide; main victim is 9400, weak
signal detectable amid, i.e. RFA Uyghur, one of the few SW broadcasts via
Sitkunai, LITHUANIA, 100 kW, 79 degrees at 01-02. Therefore I am suspicious
that this noise may really be jamming; at least a fortunate coincidence if it`s
really serving some other purpose (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OMAN. 9500, Sept 17 at 0109, no signal from RSO, but not audible either on
alternate/mixup channels 15140, 15355. May well be on one of them, just not
propagating, tho 15160 Spain is; as is 9510 Iran. A `log` of a station missing
from all its frequencies will present a quandary to some editors; where to file
it? Well, it`s significant when it fails to broadcast on a scheduled frequency
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Sept 17 at 0057, R. Chaski very poor carrier but some modulation
audible, until cutoff at 0111:18.5* which is 18 seconds later than last check
one trinite ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11905, Sept 17 at 0114, SLBC carrier is on; music starts at
0114:47.5; 2+1 mistimesignal ends at 0115:17.5, sign-on. Looks like they have
reset their clock 1 second earlier, slight progress with only 17.5 to go (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 15770 // stronger 7570, Tuesday Sept 16 at 2059.5, WRMI cuts away
from Brother Scare (always abrupt since The Last Day Prophet of God doesn`t
believe in building in station break pauses) for Bob Zanotti ID, back to a few
words of BS, and --- some hymns, first one by/for kids, not // 11825 or
WRMI/RAN 15190, no announcements past 2105.

Tuesdays at 21-22 is when PCJ Radio International had been scheduled and
appearing with monthly hour-long edition of `Media Network Plus`. Then I check
the current program grid for the `extra` non-9955 RMI broadcasts on the
14-transmitter frequency schedule page, and find that PCJ is no longer on it,
instead Tue 2100 `From Moscow With Love`, 2130 `Frecuencia Al Día`. But `FMWL`
is not on either! You have to keep checking these schedules for unannounced
changes, as there is no updated effective-as-of dating (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9475 & 9930 & 12105, Sept 15 at 1815, 2015, 2110 UT checks, big
breakdown at WTWW, all transmitters off. Can`t be power failure at site since
streaming is still running at 2120 for WTWW-1 & 3, while WTWW-2 is running but
silent. Ted is probably away working at his main job for a Nashville AM & FM
group. Finally at 2315 recheck, all three are back on for his lowest-priority
responsibility.

9455-9495, Sept 17 at 0114, range of squealy-spurs out of 9475 supersig WTWW-1
transmitter; same pitch as heard on the fundamental; obscured only by the Cuban
radio war circa 9490 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490v, Sept 17 at 0107, Brother Scare is indeed still on WBCQ,
presumably until expiration in another biweek, a couple words behind // 7570
WRMI (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 900, Sept 15 & 16 circa 1830 UT on caradio, KSGL Wichita KS is again
inaudible, even after the technician tweaked something, and it was somewhat
audible on Sept 12 & 13 daytime (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM [non]. 12005, Sept 17 at 0100, VOV English, VG signal but with
``generator hum`` which we again suspect is really coming from BaBcoCk in
ASCENSION, a hummy site rather than listed Woofferton UK; ASC also with a
propagational advantage over hi-latitude Europath to North America. Except:
largest azimuth of any other ASC transmission is 245 degrees for S America and
it was not built with intention of serving N America; yet the 102 to Africa at
05-06 on 7355 also provides a VG signal here off-the-backish. Would BaBcoCk
confirm or deny my theory? Or has anyone noticed gen-hum on any other
definitely Woofferton frequencies? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
