from Waal Rohrbach Ingolstadt Germany at 0712 UT Oct 25.

SWAZILAND 6119.995 once again heard TWR Manzini Swaziland before 07 UT here

CANADA [and non]. 6070-, Oct 24 at 2246, ``News-Talk 10-10`` ID from CFRX,
good signal and in the clear, some 24 hours after first heard reactivated,
and some 10 hours since I found it missing again in the morning; maybe
erratic.

By next check 0033 UT Oct 25, heavy QRM with CUBA which was already using
6070+ all-evening, before CFRX last crashed. At this time here, the pair are
about equal levels, making them equally useless, with a SAH of about 8 Hz as
Wolfgang B?schel observed yesterday: CFRX is 4 Hz lo and RHC is 4 Hz hi.
This is rather remarkable, considering that RHC is allegedly aiming 250 kW
plus many dB of hi gain right at us, while CFRX is but 1 kW non-direxional.
By 0126, CFRX has lost out to RHC dominance.

So much for friendlier relations between Cuba and Canada. 6070 has been
CFRX`s frequency forever (it was old already when I got my first QSL in
1957y), and Canadian SW stations do not have any frequency flexibility. RHC
has lots of choices on the 49m band; for instance, there`s nothing much
(except maybe Brasil) on 6080, if RHC really needs another frequency so
close to 6060. O yeah, some lite intermittent pulse jamming against nothing,
so Cuba already knows 6080! In B-14, IBB/VOA usage of 6080 ends at 2200,
resumes at 0300 from eastern hemisphere sites, so the 03-04 hour could be a
problem with VOA English via Vatican to Africa. Keep looking?

With B-14 seasonal adjustments coming up shortly, now would be an excellent
time for Prof. Arnaldo Coro Antich, frequency manager of RHC, to put this
right and move off 6070 --- but don`t count on it, even tho it would also be
to RHC`s own advantage to avoid this interference.
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

GREECE. 9935, Oct 25 at 0041, ERTOpen, good with Greek music, and no breakup
tonite on this transmitter ---- and // is back on 9420 at 0042 check, none
heard in the 11s or 15s. The 9420 transmitter had been on 9415 instead the
past three nights; why?

** BRAZIL. 11745, Oct 25 at 0537, RNA distorted spur with music matching
fundamental 11780; weak but definitely there. On matching 11815 it`s also JBA
vs BSplash from 11825 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CANADA. 6070, Oct 25 at 1300, JBA signal with ad, fading up for Canadian
PSA, ``news-Talk 10-10 from the broadcast centre in downtown Toronto``, 9 am
news update. Very poor with fades. So maybe CFRX really was on 24 hours earlier
when I couldn`t hear them. Too far for all-day reception here (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 13850, Oct 25 at 0535, R. Cairo is the SSOB by far, not even
Australia on 13630, but transmitting open carrier/dead air --- another great
triumph of the ERTU (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 9420, Oct 25 at 0538, ERTOpen with Greek music still on original
frequency, very good with flutter (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 770, Oct 25 at 1249, PSA about mosquitos from the Sinaloa department
of Salud, 1245 back to ``Los 40 Principales``, i.e. Top 40 from XEREV, Los
Mochis, 5/0.1 kW per IRCA Mexican Log 2014. Sinaloa, in the sesquimegameter
range, continues to be a hotspot for MexDX at SRS here which is 1248 UT today;
see also 1410 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1410, Oct 25 at 1255, PSA from the Secretar?a de -algo- de Sinaloa.
IRCA shows XECF, Los Mochis, 10/0.5 kW, La Mexicana. Sinaloa, in the
sesquimegameter range, continues to be a hotspot for MexDX at SRS here which is
1248 UT today; see also 770. City-to-city distance Los Mochis-to-Enid is: 1583
km = 984 miles (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NEW ZEALAND. 6170, Oct 25 at *1259, RNZI cuts on with Bell Bird IS, at the
correct time to switch from 9700, unlike yesterday when 6170 was on earlier,
unbeknownst to the studio playing the QSY announcement anyway (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM. 7906-USB, Oct 25 at 1306, YL in English, very weak but enough to
copy ``longitude``, no doubt a notice to mariners of the coordinates of some
obstruxion in Viet waters, i.e. Ho Chi Minh Radio. But there is CCI from some
other talk, maybe a sibling station misfiring? The frequency is time-shared by
many others (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, Oct 26 at 0102, RHC English is AWOL while funxioning on 6000
(and 6060 is in proper language Spanish for a change); finally at *0106.4, 6165
pops on with program in progress, off and on and off and on, perhaps to stay
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [non]. 9420, Oct 26 at 0110, ERTOpen, GREECE is not on tonite, and not
on 9415 either, but if and when they get back on 9420 they are in for a rude
surprise: Radio Rep?blica and the inevitable heavy Cuban jamming.

As I tune in 9420 at 0110, what`s this, something new in Spanish; check 6, 7, 9
and 11 MHz bands for //s but none found. Cuban accents and talking about
Camag?ey. Definitely not // RHC, Progreso, or Rebelde! 0111 about provincia de
Mayabeque. Musical stingers intervene; 0113 song by una dominicana neoyorquina,
``Nadie como t?``. 0117 announcement mentioning this program was recorded in
Miami, ``aqu? en los Estados Unidos``, then YL with long talk about ?bola,
references to Cuba, gets in digs at ``la dictadura de Castro``.

No, it`s not // R. Mart? 7365 either. But NO IDs. However, I can`t hear any
trace of R. Rep?blica on 9490, where there remains wall-of-noise Cuban jamming.
0123 poes?a de Octavio Paz, with music. 0125 another song, then mentions
`Sencillamente Mujer`; report from Camag?ey about political prisoners,
including Sonia somebody. Finally at 0133 ID as ``Radio Rep?blica presenta
Sencillamente Mujer``.

So R.R. has made a surprise frequency change from 9490 to 9420, presumably
still via Issoudun, FRANCE. Good signal with rolling fades, and NO jamming ---
yet, until the DentroCubans catch on. Latest HFCC B14 still shows 9490 for
``RMI`` at 00-03, NOT 9420. And presumably still using only last two hours of
that span.

But what if GREECE comes back on its #1 frequency, 9420 where it was just last
night after a foray to 9415 for three nights. Or were they trying 9415, having
been tipped off about the pending exile jump? How could R.R. pick 9420 if they
knew Greece would be on it to North America already? But then the ``rebels``
aren`t registering in HFCC. Stay tuned! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT [and non]. 9860, Oct 26 at 0026, seems dead air, fair with flutter,
but then just barely modulated in Spanish. This is right at the transition from
the A-14 to B-14 season when there could be some one-day clashes. In A-14, 9860
has been Iran in Spanish at 0020-0320 [see also IRAN].

12035, Oct 26 at 0040, Arab music, good signal but heavy distortion and hum ?
la Cairo, and now find it to be // 9860; 0044:28 mistimesignal ends and R.
Cairo news theme. So did 9860 change from Iran to Egypt in the last few minutes
or was it Egypt in the first place? In B-14, Cairo has registered 12035 at
2330-0200 in Arabic, then Spanish; and 9860 at 0045-0330 in Spanish, then
English. But Cairo registers additional wooden frequencies to give them some
flexibility.

9860, Oct 26 at 0242, R. Cairo English to N America is indeed here now,
ex-9315; good signal but muffled and distorted so I have to listen intently for
a while to be sure it`s English.

12080, Oct 26 at 0105, poor signal with distortion, flutter, i.e. R. Cairo
Spanish, ex-12070 with the same degradation. JBA signal on 11710, maybe still
//, and also on 9860 ex-9315.

** GREECE. 9420 & 9935, Oct 26 around 0030, ERTOpen is closed tonite, but if
they come back on 9420 instead of 9415 they are in for a rude surprise: see
CUBA [non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INDIA [and non]. 9870, Oct 26 at 0108, VBS with Indian music, fair but
fluttery, finally rid of TRT Spanish CCI during this hour. VBS at 0010-0435 via
Bangalore should now be QRM-free. (Turkey`s Spanish makes usual shift an hour
later to 0200-0250 but now on 9410 & 9650) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** IRAN. IRIB`s B-14 Spanish is registered as: 0020-0220 on 9445, 0020-0320 on
7420. But Oct 26 at 0242 check I hear nothing on 7420. When there, it might be
a problem for Albania at 0230 on 7425. In A14 these had been on 12025 and 9860
respectively (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also EGYPT

** PERU. 5980, Oct 26 from first check at 0025 past 0100, can`t detect a
carrier from R. Chaski, so maybe off? WRMI is now starting the BSplash from
5985 at 0000 instead of 0100, which is no help (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** ROMANIA [and non]. 9730, Oct 26 at 0027, Spanish discussion of medical
issues, 0029 outro `Roman?a para el Mundo`, good and // weaker 9525, so RRI now
on B-14 schedule of 00-01 Spanish on 7325, 7335, 9525 and 9730.

6145, Oct 26 at 0103, RRI in English with fair signal, new frequency and time
for B-14: 01-02 on 6145 // 7325 (or if you prefer Romanian with its classical
music on Saturday nights: 01-03 on 5910 // 7335). I think before 0100 tonight I
was hearing Colombian music on 5910, but forget about it for the next bihour
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** RUSSIA. 28600-USB, Oct 26 at 0057, UA0IDZ with quick contest contacts in
English from Zone 19. Unlike some others, his fonetix are clear, so no doubt
about the call. I figure he is in the DVR, and so he is per QRZ.com lookup:
UA0IDZ Asiatic Russia
Igor Dubinin
P.O.Box 88
Magadan 685000
Russia
10 & 15 meters have been packed with DX contesters all day, and even 10 is
still wide open well after dark here. Looks like they lucked into some above
normal HF conditions. It takes a contest to fill 10m above 28500 or so, now up
to 28700. This will be my token log for the contest and I didn`t even bother to
copy some of his contact calls. I quickly tire of the get-on-and-get-off
rat-a-tat no-nonsense contacts (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9330v-CUSB, UT Sunday Oct 26 at 0031, ``Radio Clandestine``
(KLAN-des-tyne) introducing some Eric Clapton, very good // much weaker 7490v,
and also synchronized on 5110v, i.e. really WBCQ playing back old pirate shows
on Saturday`s `Pirate Pizza Night`; but this is not what the online schedule
shows, as if on only one transmitter, and with nothing on 9330 at all on
weekends:
Sa 7490 06:00PM 09:00PM ET 2200 0100 UTC Pirate Pizza Night
Sa 5110 07:00PM 09:00PM ET 2300 0100 UTC Radio Timtron Worldwide
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5850 & 7455, UT Sun Oct 26 at 0034, surprised to find no signals from
WRMI`s TruNews subcontractor, clearing 7455 for the RTTY. All the other WRMI
frequencies are on, so not a power failure. But 5850 & 7355 appear at 0100, in
accordance with new B-14 schedule which is up promptly now at:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1nEVwCMB9RSKowLzLXamyayVpCzjmPAw_SB1r3YOdzQc/edit#gid=0
showing T.N. at reduced hours of 01-07 UT but on three frequencies, adding 5015
southwards (instead of BS but who is still on it afterwards). T.N. starts at
0100 as `Radio Paradise[?]` ``with your end-time newsman, Rick Wiles`` who
imagines the date is ``Friday October 24`` instead of 25 or even 26. So much
for his time-keeping.

15190.0, Oct 26 at 0045, undermodulated gospel rock music, must be Radio Africa
Network on WRMI: yes, per B-14 schedule, 15190 is now on air from 2103 until
0300. Goodbye, Inconfid?ncia (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5810, Oct 26 at 0105, WEWN is AWOL, tho scheduled from 0000, but
still very much present on 11520 English and 11870 Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7555, Oct 26 at 0105, KJES is off and still off by 0130. Not until
Nov 3 should this nominally undaylight shift to an 0200-0330 schedule, when
they get around to it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM [non]. 6175, Oct 26 at 0102, VOV in English, now on B-14 frequency
ex-12005 via Woofferton UK. While 6175 will be less subject to propagation
variations thru winter nites, it`s only fair now. Why in the world don`t they
use WHRI for all their relays to North America? In B-14, English on 6175 at
0330 is WHRI, but 0100 & 0230 are still and again WOF (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
