Re 4885 BRAZIL, - checking the web stream

4885 Radio Clube do Para, Belem PA, was the only Brazilian station in the
60 m-band noted at the time in the European morning on 26 July.
The station can be easily verified by checking the web stream at

BRAZIL. 4885, Aug 27 at 0211, very poor carrier with talk. It`s been weeks
since either Brazilian has been detected, so one of them is evidently back,
probably not R. Clube do Par?, which when on had a much better signal than
this. Soon confirmed by Daniel Wyllyans, Mato Grosso, on HCDX that R. Dif.
Acreana celebrated its 71st anniversary on Aug 25 by reactivating their TB
transmitter on 4885, first reported by DFS in Japan with
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-Hr5bi1Fdg
as of Aug 26 at 1053. Daniel was hearing it "now", 0100-0129 on 26 Aug,
presumably meaning UT 27 Aug. But he says there was QRM from Par?. Full
report in Portuguese, with photos, video:
http://dxbrazilsw.blogspot.com.br/2015/08/radio-difusora-acreana-reativado-em.html
So, are they going to keep it on the air this time?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

IRAN. 9512.2, Aug 27 at 0227, very poor carrier with flutter, presumed
Zahedan, IRIB Arabic service scheduled 0030-0230 on 9510. Not much crap out
of 9535 RHC tonight; I`ve tuned across this before but didn`t think to
precise the frequency until saw this tip from John Cooper, PA in the NASWA
Flashsheet:

"9511.5, IRAN. VOIRI-Zahedan, (T), at 0145, on 21 Aug. The station is off
frequency from its scheduled frequency of 9510. A male speaker is talking in
Arabic. There is a momentary break at 0147 followed by more talk. Poor"

Very likely the same Zahedan transmitter for 9410 at 1700-0030, often
reported off-frequency hetting Greece.

ARGENTINA RAE Buenos Aires tonight 200 Hertz up, now wandered 3-4 Hertz up
and down on 15345.326 ... x.330 kHz.

INDONESIA Vo INS Cimanggis tonight on 9525.978 kHz at 1915 UT Aug 27.

No trace of VoGreece Avlis either 9420 or 9934v kHz.

6090v
Likely Anguilla CB on 6090.001, and also co-channel CNR2 Chinese ?

But strong carrier nearby on 6089.966 kHz,
- could be Bandeirantes Brazil ?

** BIAFRA [non]. 15560, Aug 27 at 1943, JBA carrier with Doppler flutter during
very disturbed propagation conditions, but it must be the new SW service of R.
Biafra, clandestine, the one which had been on FM only but really bothering the
powers that be in Nigeria. I wonder how much of it, if any, is in English. Tnx
to Jos? Miguel Romero for the story:

``BreakingNews 27/8/15 - Clandestine Radio Biafra Now Broadcasting Across Most
Africa | Masterweb Reports
http://nigeriamasterweb.com/Masterweb/breakingnews-27815-clandestine-radio-biafra-now-broadcasting-across-most-africa

Radio Biafra has launched a satellite television dubbed Biafra Television and a
shortwave (SW) radio that will cover most Africa and beyond. According to the
clandestine station, the frequency of the broadcast is 15560 kHz in the 19
meter band and hours of broadcast for the time being, 7.00 ? 9.00 am and 7.00 ?
9.00 pm Nigerian time. The station still broadcasts on FM, satellite and
Internet, even though Nigeria National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) claim they
have blocked them on FM and satellite, and would also do the same on Internet.

Briefing Journalists last month after a meeting between officials of Ministry
of Information and President Buhari, Dr. Shade Yemi-Esan, Permanent Secretary,
Ministry of Information said: "Right now the signals from radio Biafra have
been jammed successfully by NBC. The commission is also working with security
agencies to get those that are behind that radio because it is an illegal
radio. It is not licensed by anybody to be on the airwaves in Nigeria."

Nnamdi Kanu, Radio Biafra Director in a statement posted on their website,
described their shortwave radio as "Nuclear War Head". It is unbelievable that
Radio Biafra that is supposed to have had its wings clipped by NBC is now not
only broadcasting in the South East and Niger Delta but now sending its air
waves across Nigeria and Africa. Has NBC lost the air wave war with Radio
Biafra? The answer will be known with what happens in the next few day[s]``

The story is illustrated with a young opposite-gender couple embracing, but not
clear who they are. The local times given in UT +1 correspond to UT: 06-08 and
18-20. It`s likely that the site is Issoudun, FRANCE, which is on 15560 to
Africa immediately prior to both broadcasts (but Deutsche Welle relays had then
been scheduled, presumably, as backup/alternatives, surely out of the way for
this).

We may hope for better reception to come; WWV reported at 1800 Aug 27:

``Solar-terrestrial indices for 26 August follow.
Solar flux 126 and estimated planetary A-index 30.
The estimated planetary K-index at 1800 UTC on 27 August was 5.
Space weather for the past 24 hours has been moderate.
Geomagnetic storms reaching the G2 level occurred.
Radio blackouts reaching the R1 level occurred.
Space weather for the next 24 hours is predicted to be minor.
Geomagnetic storms reaching the G1 level are expected.
Radio blackouts reaching the R1 level are likely.``
(Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 17730, Aug 27 at 2003 on caradio, RHC Portuguese but with suptorted
modulation. Can be their best afternoon frequency.

11840, Aug 28 at 0012, RHC is open carrier/dead air, while 11760 is modulating
plentifully, running S9+30 and splashing up to 15 kHz out, kind of mixing with
the RNB spur around 11745. 11670 is also on, not quite as strong (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NEW ZEALAND. 9885-9890-9895, Aug 27 at 1255, DRM noise, no doubt RNZI in
temporary test display for the benefit of attendees at HFCC B-15 in Brisbane,
Australia, on this frequency at 0759-1258 for one more day (and a break after
1300) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. (1650), Aug 28 at 1700 UT, KYHN webcast is in Herman Cain show,
but no break at hourtop --- he`s in a 20-minute quick-response segment; another
far right wacko is on an hour later, with no break either, so I conclude the
webcast, if really from KYHN, whose ID I was wanting to reconfirm instead of
``WFSM``, is way off-time as surely these shows accede to hourtop news hole
breaks in real time (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

very degraded and the noise level is high. I was able to hear 8820 carrier
before but want to match its cut-on to 7520.

6220, I retune to and find a better than before signal from the 7520 minus 1300
mixing product, registering S8+, music in Spanish past hourtop to 0001 Aug 28
brief unreadable announcement, more music. As previously discovered, this is
WMDB 880, ``La Ranchera``, Nashville, buying night-time on WNQM 1300. At first
there was audio mix as before from some poor 2-way USB sailor. I couldn`t hear
much from WWCR on 6220, till just a bit of steel drumming up to 0000 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 11870, Aug 28 at 0014, WEWN is quite weak with Doppler flutter on the
carrier due to propagation disturbance (see BIAFRA), as are some but not all
other degraded US signals. No such problem affects the lower WRMI frequencies,
altho bands above 12 MHz are nearly dead (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
