** CUBA [and non]. 9490, Oct 21 at 0055, R. República is VG with ID, way over
JBA jamming, talk about a XIX-XX century poet; via FRANCE. This is still
registered for B-15, three separate hours at 00-03, 150 kW, 285 degrees from
Issoudun, but presumably really using only two of them, covering DST changes
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9315, Oct 21 at 0054, R. Cairo is again AWOL, no carrier at all
during Spanish service, but 9965.03 is audible with Arabic undermodulation,
whine at 0103 Oct 21. 12070, another Spanish frequency, is dead air at 0107,
and the fourth channel 11935v, bears nothing but the Brasilian at 0111 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** FRANCE [non]. 11580, UT Wed Oct 21 at 0116, WRMI has resumed Radio France
International relay in English with ID, news about Burundi, Libya, plugging
sports coming up, S9 for now but likely to fade down/out before hour is over.
Yes, following the re-demise of the revived Global 24 for one week only during
this hour, RFI is back on the schedule at 01-02 UT Wed as well as Fri & Sat.
Presumably those three hours remain for sale to other clients who may get the
debit for depriving us of what`s left of RFI (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** IRAN. 9510.00, Oct 21 at 0056, ME song, distorted modulation now also with
some whine developing, i.e. the problematic IRIB Zahedan transmitter which is
sometimes off-frequency too, 1-2 kHz above.

HFCC B-15 for ZAHedan has only this single transmitter registered 24 hours:
Arabic service, 500 kW at 289 degrees: 1700-0230 6060, 0230-0530 9895,
0530-1420 15750; Azeri 1420-1650 7360. At least it will no longer conflict/het
with Greece 9420 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925.00-USB, Oct 21 at 0046, S9 signal, but vs noise level,
rates only very poor, announcement being made of a QSL eddress, from ---algo---
Radio; 0048 SSTV. This thread says Amphetamine Radio:
http://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,24015.0.html
and displays several naughty pix captured by J Farley, looking like Vargas
girls (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Oct 21 at 0041, JBA carrier from R. Chaski; retune 0108 awaiting
shifted autocutoff: which happens at 0108:17.5* --- that`s 16.5 seconds later
than last log two days ago, Oct 19 until 0108:01*, or averaging 8.25 seconds
each. The slippage seems to be expanding, if not just random variation (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SPAIN. Manuel Méndez reported: ``Radio Exterior, Noblejas, now on 17710
instead of 17715, 2005, 18-10, sport program "Tablero Deportivo". 44444``

However, today October 20 at 2000 during another PTP they are once again back
on original 17715! Has anyone noticed whether REE have changed their frequency
announcements at sign-on or off? The only reason I can see for avoiding 17715
in A-15 is:

AWR on 17720, but this would apply only on weekends when REE opens at 1400
instead of 1800. HFCC shows AWR uses three different sites: 1430-1500 Karen via
Sri Lanka, 1700-1728 Swahili via Madagascar, 1730-1800 Oromo via Germany.
However, there would be a direct collision on 17710 at 1500-1557 with DW in
Swahili via UAE.

All this will be moot from Oct 25 with B-15; new problems then? B-15 has
duplicate registrations for 17715 and 11940; likewise 17855 and 9690 to North
America. Earlier announced plans were to go to the lower bands; have to be one
or the other (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11905, Oct 21 at 0114, SLBC open carrier is better, S8, with
prélude starting at 0114:46, 2+1 mis-timesignal ending at 0115:19.5, SLBC ID
and sign-on in presumed Hindi (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. Regarding my 9777 log of Oct 16, for the 0100 Spanish broadcast,
about what`s coming in B-15, I meant to say the then 0200 broadcast in Spanish,
not Turkish; portion corrected:

In B-15, VOT Spanish moves to 9410 and 9650, and like everything else, one hour
later at 02-03, as if coming and going of DST in Turkey should impact listeners
abroad! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5202.0-USB, Oct 21 at 0121, QSO between an OM and YL, discussing how
to mount antennas on RVs --- I figured this was one of those discrete so-called
``60 meter`` ham channels, but instead per a previous log of July 18, 2014,
it`s Texas Army MARS (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7489.92-AM, Oct 21 at 0053, WBCQ is measured here with talk about
Jewish matters, presumably Rabbi Spivak. Samuel S Weiner, Allan`s dad, for whom
WBCQ is a memorial, was Jewish (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9974.935 approx., Oct 21 at 0058, TruNews by Gregg Moore; 0059 KVOH
ID, 0100 more TruNews headlines by him, then `Living Way`. Ray Robinson of KVOH
tells me what happened to Mutual Radio News; evidently the name too has been
retired:

``Hi, Glenn. Regarding Mutual Radio News. ``It seems Leo Ashcraft (who ran it)
has turned the whole operation over to TruNews, as of 9/28. There was no
notification to affiliates, other than this posting on Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/MutualRadioNews/posts/521793891319173
(Ray Robinson, KVOH, Oct 19, DX LISTENING DIGEST)`` Viz.:

``Mutual Radio News September 28 at 11:08pm · Edited ·

Two comments:

``Boyer Simcox --- I wish you well Leo. I have been a long time fan. I do hate
to see the Mutual name go by the way side. It was a blast from the past to have
the Mutual radio news network. Take care.

Tim Reed: Do Part 15 affiliates still use the same download link?
September 29 at 3:43am`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN [and non]. 11730, Oct 21 at 0057, Vatican Radio in S Asian language,
sufficient even here, scheduled Hindi into Tamil at 0100 for a few more days.

I checked this after finding a JBA carrier on 9480, useless against the splash
from 9475 WTWW-1 which is still on day frequency as late as 0105. Joe Robinson
in Ontario reported to ODXA he was hearing VR Hindi there too on unlisted
frequency, site? Nor is it listed in HFCC B-15.

7305, Oct 21 after 0230, no signal from VR Spanish relay via Greenville, which
is still scheduled 0200 until 0245 in A-15 and B-15; anomaly? Or off early?
Anyhow, impossiblizes any leapfrog over 7365 R. Martí onto 7425 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VIETNAM [non]. 12005, Oct 21 at 0110, VOV in English to N America is
propagating tonight, fairly and presumably still via Woofferton UK. In B-15,
like every winter, moves to 6175, still WOF for English at 0100-0130,
0230-0300, while the third airing at 0330-0400 on 6175 remains via WHRI (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
