** ARGENTINA. 15344.96, Sunday July 17 at 1755, LRA is VP at S1, but some
conversation barely perceptible as Spanish. Definitely Spanish at 1759 surge to
S4, and algo distorted. 1800:00 accurate 6-pip timesignal mixing with the talk,
still Spanish. By 1809 it`s too weak to tell language, S 0.5 on the NRD-545.

I have been trying to confirm whether the RAE English broadcast pre?mpt the R.
Nacional relay on Sundays during the 18 UT hour, as it has been confirmed to do
on Saturdays, but not last Sunday. Ivo assumed the 17 UT hour in German is also
on Saturdays & Sundays, i.e. daily (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ASCENSION. 11820.016, July 18 at 0434, BBCWS in English is good here, but
off-frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 15170.059, July 18 at 0443, BSKSA in Arabic at S9+10. Most
Saudi transmitters are off-frequency. I`m trying to refine my measurements more
accurately down to the Hz, but consider the last digit as approximate (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TAIWAN [and non]. 11985, July 18 at 1251, song and Chinese announcement, vs
CNR1 jamming // 11785. The victim is RTI during this hour only; and all off at
1305 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1834 monitoring: confirmed Sunday July 17 at 2330,
very poor on WBCQ 9329.931-CUSB. Also confirmed UT Monday July 18 at 0030 on
WRMI, 7730, S9+30. Also confirmed, UT Monday July 18 at 0301 on Area 51 webcast
and on WBCQ 5129.904, fair. Also confirmed UT Monday July 18 at 0330 on WRMI,
9955, S9+10. Next:
Mon 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Tue 1100 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Tue 2130 WRMI 15770 to NE
Tue 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Wed 1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7570, July 18 at 0100-0300, WRMI pre?mpting Brother Scare with the
PCJ Radio International special, From the Archives of Radio Netherlands;
including a long interview by Tom Meijer with his Happy Station predecessor,
Eddie Startz in retirement, who did not go quietly. More archive material is
promised for future specials, some of it unheard since original broadcast
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 12105-, July 17 at 1805, WTWW-3 is on at S9, and in English this
hour. As always, off-frequency to low side but not measured (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** VATICAN. 9645.0, July 18 at 0421, Arabic talk abut Sudan, S9 way over the
het from Bandeirantes 9645.4. Was hoping it would be something more interesting
than Vatican Radio as scheduled daily 0400-0430 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

Oops, the off-frequency 11820.016 station was DW English via Madagascar, not
BBC via Ascension (which Wolfgang Bueschel considers to be frequency-accurate).

"LIVE broadcast from Kall, with the entire crew!
July 21, 2016: 19:00 till 22:00 hrs (CET) on 6005 kHz and 11.850 kHz
(100 kW!)
At the beginning of this month we introduced many great improvements to
our station, such as: a new international Saturday schedule, the arrival
of Mi Amigo legend Peter van Dam and a new improved 192k high quality
web stream.

To celebrate this new chapter in our history at the start of our new
summer season, our entire crew of DJ's and technical staff a will all
meet at our Short Wave Transmission Centre in beautiful Kall-Krekel,
Germany for a group BBQ and a 3 hour live broadcast to Europe and the
world!

For this special occasion we will not only broadcast on our regular
European 6005 kHz (49m band) and the 1485 AM (from Riga), but this live
show will also be relayed to the world by a 100 kW short wave
transmitter in Armenia, on 11.850 kHz (25m band)!

This powerful 100kW transmitter has 12 different directional antenna
configurations and will be able to reach parts of the world outside
Europe where normally we are not received. So we intent to properly
introduce ourselves and the station to all the new listeners worldwide.

The 3 hour show will feature reports and details about the unique
vintage Shortwave Broadcast Centre in Kall, our transmitters, the
buildings and antenna's. We'll talk about today's Free Radio and our
station -where we come from and our big plans for the nearby future- and
we'll introduce everyone in our excellent team.

Our DJ's will tell stories -and answer questions- about their time on
the glorious radio ships and play some of their special favourite
records. It will be a fun night, a real get-together of our AM radio
loving international DJ's and our listeners. The broadcast will be
mainly in English with some Dutch, German and French as well. The music
will also bring back some wonderful Free Radio memories.

Listeners can participate in a number of ways: live via email:
[email protected] and/or chat live via this special
event page on Facebook (where we will post pictures and movies).

You may even call in live via Skype [click here for call] with
questions, greetings and/or requests. Everyone who makes contact with us
that evening will receive a special QSL card.

And if you enjoy Radio Mi Amigo for its great music, you may also listen
on-line in HQ stereo via our brilliant new web stream.

So we hope you will be with us, coming Thursday July 21, 19:00 till
22:00 hrs on 6005 kHz and 11.850 kHz. Make sure you don't miss out on
this unique international radio event and join the party by enlisting
yourself now on our Facebook special event page, or email us so we can
send you a special newsletter on Thursday as a reminder. "

** ALBANIA. 9855-, July 19 at 0120-0136 and recheck at 0150, NO signal from R.
Tirana, following a month of misery, last heard two nights ago, the Albablob is
off tonight, after its usual one-night skip.

Let us fervently hope the Tiranamitter is being repaired, rather than yet
another station throwing in the towel on SWBC. Please check all other
broadcasts whether they be off or on, and if so, in what condition: 0700-0900
daily 7390, 1700-1800 & 1931-2030 Mon-Sat on 7465; 2300-2400 daily on 9855
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9317-9323 approx., July 19 at 0054, S9+15 humbuzz blob from R. Cairo
out of the 9315 transmitter with the same sound altho slightly softer spanning
9312-9316, but unlike the sidekick this one has a detectable carrier circa 9315
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6930-USB, July 19 at 0019, weird electronic music, techno I
guess, at S6 vs storm noise bursts up to S9; no announcements except sounds
like ``let`s go`` twice at 0025; off at 0101 check. This thread
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,29141.0.html
identifies it as Moonlight Radio with an ID at 0030 and apparently off thence
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, July 19 at 0058, R. Chaski JBA carrier, as I tune in early and
continuously to catch its reset but constantly slipping autotimer cutoff: it
happens at 0101:13.5*, so now another recession averaging ~6.5 seconds later
per diem/noctem is underway (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11905, July 19 at 0114:47.5, SLBC musical pr?lude starts,
0115:17.5 the 2+1 timesignal ends, opening in Hindi. VP signal is ``twice`` as
strong tonight, S2 instead of S1 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. 11580 // stronger 5850, July 19 at 0046, WRMI relaying R.
Slovakia International in English (or rather, since it has no SW transmissions
of its own, this is not really a relay), about visiting a mine. I also checked
WRMI on 9955 which is not // but found it also talking about Slovakia, huh? No,
the latter is really Radio Prague as per outro at 0057. Tsk2 that the two
former partners are now up against each other at the same time via WRMIs,
coincidence? At least R. Ukraine International is an hour earlier at 2330 on
11580 only, and M-F only per sked (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7489.96-AM, UT Tue July 19 after listening to `From the Isle of
Music` on S9+20 WBCQ until 0100, at 0102 I find something pseudo-religious and
even more imaginative than Brother HyStairical can muster (who is scheduled to
take over the frequency at 0100) --- two(?) guys often talking over each other
about ``the pain of the Dark Ones``, gloomy music, gortons, Bob, raising money,
0119 mentioning ``fake invasion, fake rapture``, modulation cutting off and on,
``subgeniuses`` --- O, that`s it, the great parody show, ``Church of the
Subgenius Hour of Slack``, which currently is nowhere on any WBCQ schedule.
0124, discussion of $45 hamburgers; 0127 ``KNLS(?) pledge drive``. Welcome
back!! But I fear this was just an anomaly:

0132, quick WBCQ ID with bong, cut to music; 0133 adstring all voiced by same
announcer about: an air show in western New Brunswick on Saturday July 23 (?
Competing with Vance AFB`s Enid, with the Blue Angels, and everything --- be
very, very quick to take cover if necessary); Triple-L paving, for all your
paving needs, 227-0000; Sav-a-Lot grocery in Presque Eel, and Caribou; Gary`s
Auto sales (used) in Caribou, 498-6461; 0135 automated TC for 9:34 and C&W
song; 0139 UT ``Kicks [sp?] FM`` and finally cut to Overcomer Ministry (but not
BS at the moment) running a few seconds behind 7570 WRMI; 0150 still. The WTFDA
database shows WBCQ-FM, 94.7, 6 kW/95m in Monticello slogan as ``Classic
Country 94.7`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505vv, July 19 at 0108, WRNO is on tonight, and still won`t hold
still as I try to measure it with BFO. At first close to 7505.00, then drifting
up, back down to 7504.85, 0113 circa 7505.15, etc., etc. But OK as far as
modulation quality and lack of splatter here, if not in Wisconsin (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 12105-, July 18 at 2045 check, WTWW-3 is not only on the air at S9+20
but modulating!!! in Portuguese. 9930, however, WTWW-2 is still off, no Dave
Ramsey; 9475- is also S9+20 with SFAW but distorted modulation, which Wolfgang
B?schel also noticed. 12105- at 0040 UT July 19, now it`s bogged down in
Russian, S9+25 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9855-LSB, July 19 at 0116, early check for R. Tirana, but instead
hear colloquial Spanish 2-way intruders goofing around --- wow, they don`t know
what they`re in for in a few minutes! Or, they do, since they quit at 0120,
despite Radio Tirana turning out to be a no-show (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
