going off and on. Was back on though at 2358 w/ID during tlk by M.
2359 canned ID/promo, and couple more canned anmnts. Hasn?t been hrd

9600 MADAGASCAR Madagascar Voice R./New Life Station Audio up at
2359 w/W mentioning ?beautiful weekend? and ?New Life Station? ID,
then usual IS, then opening EG ID anmnt by W joined by M w/ment of
Alaska. Abt 75% readable due to static QRN. (20-21 August)

15190 ITALY R. Santec/The Cosmic Wave (via IRRS) Signal on at
1457:04, pgm start at 1500:04 w/organ then W w/ID ?The following
program is brought to you by R. Santec, The Word, The Cosmic Wave?,
then inspirational message by same W, fanfare, then rel. tlk by M.
Still going and readable at 1514 t/out. Fairly decent signal. (21

15420 CLANDESTINE V.O. Oromo Liberation (via Nauen Germany)
*1700 w/flute instru. and W anncr in apparent Oromo w/opening ID anmnt

HoA mx bridge, W again, and fade. Weak. (21 August)

9300.95 PIRATE (EUROPE) Free R. Service Holland Found it was abt
1 khz high on Perseus rcvs in Europe and was getting a signal here
myself at 2024. At 2045, started to get bits of mx. 2054, 2058-2100
definite M anncr. 2107:15 Rock mx. 2107-2109 M anncr ment of ?today?
and ending w/upcoming song anmnt. 2109-2112 song but faded. 2112
canned jingle then M DJ host again. Faded. 2116- song. 2117-2119 M

recognize it. 2128 very brief anmnt and another song to 2131. 2132 M
DJ. 2133-2137 canned tlk starting w/SFX sounding like it was a
nxcast. 2137-2147 more mx and M DJ between songs, but unreadable.
2147 M again, canned jingle, then M again w/ment of ??special
broadcast?today, ?? we?d like to?on the show??, then canned contact
addr ??P.O. Box 2702??. (21 August)

24 August 2016 Micro-Dxpedition
RX: Perseus SDR
ANT: 313' Beverage (BOG) aimed roughly at 55?.
Duration: 2210-0005 UTC.
Solar Indices: Solar Flux = 76 A Index = 5 K Index = 2 No storms.

6284.99 PIRATE (EUROPE) Johnny Tobacco 2220 ?Mrs. Robinson? by
Simon & Garfunkle, ?Give a Little Bit? by Supertramp, ?Drive? by The
Cars. Had to be Johnny Tobacco as it was nonstop mx and he was here
last night. Back at 2240 and more nonstop mx to at least 2255. Went
off at 2306. After 2230, I was listening off and on and never did get
an ID, but it had to be him. He was there last night. (21 August)

9665 BRAZIL Voz Missionaria 2227 surprised at t/in to hear the
end of an EG anmnt by M which prob. was a promo as the last phone #
given was that of the stn. PT anmnt then ending w/ID jingle, then a
couple more anmnts including a nice ID/promo at 2230. Fair. (21
August)

11860 SAUDI ARABIA Rep. of Yemen R. (relay) 2243 nice AR ID by M
between AR Pop songs. ??? Idha?at Jamahiryah Yemeniya ???. Very
good. (21 August)

6050 LIBERIA ELWA 2308 Rel. Pop mx. M w/ID between songs at
2314 but difficult copy as it was mixed with the mx. (21 August)

At 2320 no 9645 Bandeirantes or 11780 Nacional Brasil. But Nacional
Brasil was back at 2333 check. (21 August)

9650 GUINEA R. Guinee 2325 ID by M in break in pgm. Another ID
over fanfare at 2353. Was playing Afro Pop mx when the audio was
lowered at 0001:08 and plug pulled 13 seconds later. (21 August)

5580.31 BOLIVIA R. San Jose (tent.) signal here at 2333 no doubt
San Jose. Just wisps of audio in the noise. Still there at 0002
w/barely audible mx. (21 August)

9964.89 EGYPT R. Cairo 2336 EG tlk abt Abba and their tours
bringing them to Egypt. 2341 ID/intro for ?Treasures of Egypt? pgm.
Tremendously strong but distorted. (21 August)

6925U PIRATE (NA) UNID. Someone playing ?Strawberry Fields? by
The Beatles at 2347. No anmnts at the end of the song. (21 August)

4835 AUSTRALIA ABC Alice Spring 1024 live political speech for
the Northern Territory. Good signal and surprisingly equal w/4840
WWCR. (22 August)

7295 YAKUTSK R. Sakha 1028 unbelievable good signal w/tlk by M
mentioning 2 people named ?Victor?. 1030 mx in the background. 1034
RS Pop song (hrd the next day as well). Dropped off quite a bit in
the half hour leading up to 1100. Best hrd yet though. (22 August)

2485 AUSTRALIA ABC Katherine Great signal at 0909 t/in w/nx in
detail by M including actualities. S9+10 strength much stronger than
//2310 Tennant Creek. Tuned out at 0920, but when I returned at 0957,
it was very weak and barely audible and on par with 2310. Noisy
conditions. (23 August)

24 August 2016 Micro-DXpedition
RX: Perseus SDR
ANT: 313' Beverage (BOG) aimed roughly at 50?.
Duration: 2215-2320 UTC.
Solar Indices: Solar Flux = 76 A Index = 19 K Index = 3 A9 with G1
geomagnetic storm.

7699.89U ITALY Marconi R. Int. Finally caught this one. Took a
lot of time and effort. 2218-2229 apparent DX pgm ?Italian Shortwave
Panorama? w/M host over mx which was occasionally increased as bridges
between items. The tone and cadence sounded like EG. Hrd ments of at
least 1 stn ??? Radio??, and ?Washington? and ?DX?. Seemed like a
short ID at 2230 ??Radio International? but a pulsing UTE just above
was on at this time. Into another DX-related pgm, probably ?Panorama
Onde Corte? w/intro using the ?Star Wars? theme mx sev. times. M host
over mx. Lang. could?ve been IT. Hrd a ment of ?DX?, and a number of
freqs given in ?kilohertz? at 2236. There was another pgm w/M host
over mx from 2248-2258, possibly a mailbag pgm. From 2250-2254 the
nasty UTE above was on continuously totally wiping out the bdcst.
2258 canned M anncr in slight echo effect followed by another M anncr
over mx, poss. and ID. Finally 2300-2301, an instru. song played to
close the bdcst going off at 2301:37. Was supposed to be on 7700 but
audio seemed best/normal on 7699.89. Weak and very poor. Had it been
a little stronger, it would?ve been much more readable. (24 August)

9650 GUINEA R. Guinee 2304-2311 current Afro Pop and Dance mx.
M over beginning of some w/ment of ??nationale ?? de Guinea?. Really
nice signal. (24 August)

9705 INDIA AIR Panaji 2304-2309 M in EG w/nx. 2305:15 quick ID
between nx items. Went off 2309:38 just before the nx ended and came
back on at 2310:41 w/some sort of tone then W giving cmntry in EG.
//9690 Bengaluru which was better. This freq had noise in the audio.
(24 August)

9835 MALAYSIA RTM Sarawak FM 1107 nx by W in Malay at t/in.
Fanfare 1109 and W again w/ment of ??nasional RTM?. Mx bridge, then
promo, and into Asian Pop mx. Only fair at best. (27 August)

3325 PAPUA NEW GUINEA NBC Bougainville 0959 M anncr ment of
upcoming NBC nx, brief mx bridge then into EG nx by M. Slowly
improving. Came back and was really nice at 1025 w/Pop mx. 1026 M in
PD w/song anmnts. 1027 into ?You Shook Me? by AC/DC. More of the
same mx pgm w/M DJ hosting. Would?ve been a fine signal if not for
the QRN. (27 August)

9600 PHILIPPINES Vatican R. (relay) 2313-2314 carrier w/tone,
2314 usual IS, 2315 opening anmnt by W in apparent VT, then mx. Very
weak. The tone caught my attention. (27 August)

4796.007 UNID. Was getting a signal here prior to 1000 but didn?t
pay any attention to it. Came back just after 1000 and thought I hrd
a M tlking once to 1021 but too weak and way too much noise. Wonder
if this might be the old Bolivian back on. (28 August)

4894.92 BRAZIL R. Novo Tempo (pres.) Mx around 0850. I had a M
anncr as well earlier. I'm about 95% certain it?s Novo Tempo. W
anncr on at 0856, then it went into a male a cappella song, all what
was being played on the web stream but about 20 seconds behind here.
Just too weak and way too much CODAR QRM to get a live ID. (30
August)

4989.98 SURINAM R. Apintie Found // their webstream (about 38
seconds slow for me) with M anncr intro at 0916 and some sort of
feature presented by lady anncr in Sranan Tongo from 0917-0924, then
the M anncr again mixed w/mx. (30 August)

4796.02 UNID. R. Lipez Uyuni?? Wasn?t there at 0800 tune by.
But was definitely getting mx later at 0937. Sounded like a lady
anncr birefly at 0938, then more mx. Also Definte mx at 1003, 1012,
1014, 1016, and 1018. Too much CODAR QRM. Tnx Ron Howard for passing
along tip that its been logged in Moscow around 0245-0302. (30
August)

31 August 2016 Micro-DXpedition
RX: Perseus SDR
ANT: 313' Beverage (BOG) aimed roughly at 350?.
Duration: 0910-1305 UTC.
Solar Indices: Solar Flux = 100 A Index = 16 K Index = 1 B5
background X-Ray. No storms.

7259.96 VANUATU R.V. 0917 Pop mx.. Lady DJ at 0924, jingle by
M, then into ?Karma Chameleon? by Culture Club. 0929 canned anmnt by
M, then one by W, and live lady DJ returned. More mx on 0948 recheck,
0953 jingle by M, then same lady DJ w/ment of ?tomorrow night?, 0955
sounded like an ID jingle by M, and back to mx. Better at 1035
w/speech in lcl PD w/ment of ?people? and ?500?. Signal seemed strong
enough but modulation was low. (31 August)

11925.21 BRAZIL R. Bandeirantes Nice ID during ad block at 0937
ending w/jingle and usual cat meowing. Back to pres. nx pgm. (31
August)

3325 PAPUA NEW GUINEA NBC Bougainville Wasn?t on at 0915 but was
there at 0932. 0958 feature by studio W anncr w/actualities, then
same W w/outro and mentiong ??if you?d like to comment on ??, you can
contact us here at the NBC??, 1001 M w/ID and TC and bird call
signature (not the old one), then into NBC EG nx by W. 1020 end of
regional nx by M w/NBC contact info and mentioning the NBC website,
then studio M anncr in PD w/pgm notes and ID. Incredible lvl at 1045
w/speech. 1050 promo w/children in unison with ?My station, my
Bougainville?. Lcl nx in PD by M at 1105 recheck. Many ments of
Bougainville. 1111 ID by diff. M, promo by M, then same M anncr cont.
w/ment of celebration of anniversary in Bougainville, the NBC website,
shortwave, and an NBC representative being present somewhere. Good
and peaking from 1045-1115. A little noisy. (31 August)

9525.89 INDONESIA V.O.I. 1011 EG ID during nx by W ?This news
comes you from the Voice of Indonesia??. Came back at 1054 and caught
Asian Pop mx. 1103 EG promo/ID by M and W, Gamelan mx bridge then W
over mx w/canned anmnt w/freqs, website for streaming audio, e-mail
and mailing addrs. Very rarely hear this well enough to ID. (31
August)

3344.86 INDONESIA RRI Ternate (tent.) Thought I hrd a W anncr
briefly at 1026. Maybe mx at 1043. No sense in spending time on
this. (31 August)

7345 YAKUTSK R. Sakha 1034 nice RS Pop song, //extremely weak
7295. 1037 W anncr in RS or Yakut. RS Pop-like mx to 1159 Jews Harp
and the ?boing? SFX, only 3 time ticks, then short ID anmnt by W then
M (starting with ?Yakutskiya??), and into nx by usual W anncr. Only
fair at best. Should have been a lot better considering the BOG was
aimed right at Yakutsk. Seemed a lot more noisy than other bands too.
(31 August)
