** CANADA. 7850-CUSB, Oct 30 at 0633, absolutely no signal from CHU,
demonstrating how low the MUF has sunk, but still in well on 3330-CUSB (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 7435, Oct 30 at 1320, R. Mart?, W&M conversation clear of
jamming on new Greenville frequency, while jamming remains on ex-7405 and
ex-9805, while the second RM frequency is really now 11930 with some lite pulse
jamming but not yet wall-of-noise. Also WON jamming on 13605 at 1331 check,
which will soon be replaced, as every winter, by 13820, clear except for a JBA
carrier, presumably Iran, Arabic at 0830-1430, and NOT ``Moskva`` in Russian as
imaginatively registered at 0800-1600. RM 13820 span is 14-20 UT, and might
also clash with Egypt in Urdu at 16-18. The incompetent DentroCuban Jamming
Command is always slow to catch up to non-secret seasonal changes. But then
Arnie would have to admit to consulting HFCC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** INDIA [and non]. 9865, Oct 30 at 1318, AIR VBS with Indian pop music, S2-S4
but after many years, FINALLY clear of ChiCom CCI, which stays on 9870, CRI
English, 13-16, 500 kW, 200 degrees from Xi`an toward India. AIR frequency
management is finally doing its job (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 9400, Oct 30 at 1314, Denge Kurdistane is back on its
B-season frequency, ex-11600. Unexpectedly good for starters, and surprisingly,
no CCI from FEBC Philippines like last winter --- maybe because FE propagation
is so degraded today? That`s still registered at 10-14 in Chinese, 100 kW, 330
degrees from Iba. Some ACI from 9395-WRMI. At 1337 still good and clear at
S9+10; 1358 check music, 1403 ID and Kurdish talk. By 1440 recheck, declined to
S5-S8 but still QRM-free. Ivo Ivanov shows site change at 1400 from
PRIDNESTROVYE to BULGARIA.

HFCC B-16 shows these sites for some BRB client on 9400: 04-08 & 12-20
PRIDNESTROVYE. 08-12 ARMENIA. Also something ``New`` for SPC BULGARIA in
``English`` at 0200-2359! This is quite contradicted by Ivo Ivanov`s
better-informed lineup:

``From Oct 30 11600 will be changed to new 9400 as follows
0400-0800 on 9400 KCH 300 kW / 130 deg WeAs Kurdish [PRIDNESTROVYE]
0800-1200 on 9400 ERV 300 kW / 192 deg WeAs Kurdish [ARMENIA]
1200-1400 on 9400 KCH 300 kW / 130 deg WeAs Kurdish [PRIDNESTROVYE]
1400-1700 on 9400 SOF 100 kW / 090 deg WeAs Kurdish [BULGARIA]
1700-2000 on 9400 ISS 250 kW / 090 deg WeAs Kurdish [FRANCE]
2000-2200 on 9400 KCH 300 kW / 116 deg WeAs Kurdish`` [PRIDNESTROVYE]
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NEW ZEALAND. 11610, Oct 30 at 1119, very poor signal from algo, presumed
RNZI on brand NF toward NNW rather than NNE. Per B-16 HFCC there is now a
2-hour break in ChiCom usage of 11610, just right for RNZI at 11-13.

9700, Oct 30 at 1305, RNZI on reactivated summer channel, ex-6170; S5-S8 with
Pacific news starting with human rights in Fiji; some splatter from 9710 CUBA,
diminished by LSB tuning. Hope 9700 will improve once propagation disturbance
be over (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ROMANIA [and non]. 9610, Oct 30 at 1309, language lessons with phrases
repeated, 1312 ID ``Saut Romani``, so RRI as now scheduled 1300-1330 in Arabic,
300 kW, 142 degrees from Tsiganeshti. Wonder if it`s long-path, as Europe by
short is not to be expected at this time. Also happen across another Arabic
frequency just before 1327* with IS, 11945, which is 300 kW, 140 degrees from
Galbeni. Then at 1329, the B-B-C- chimes are JBA, which is SINGAPORE about to
open Myanmarianese (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non non]. 7315, Oct 30 at 0637, Brother Scare via WHRI
running roughly a minute behind 7570 WRMI, talking about his sub-tabernacle in
Henryetta OK (due S of Tulsa, due E of OKC). Believe this replace 7355 which is
no longer registered at this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 12035, Oct 30 at 1327, no signal yet from VOT on winter English
frequency, ex-15450 at 1230; 1329, now S3 with VOT IS, 1330 accurate
timesignal, but far too weak, despite 500 kW, at 310 degrees toward UK and US.
Yet ROMANIA has managed to put a good signal into here on 11945 with its IS
until 1327*, and that`s 300 kW, 140 degrees in Arabic! Long path? (also 9610,
see ROMANIA) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7780, Oct 30 at 0629, the PCJ Radio International special, `From the
Archives of Radio Nederland` #4, supposed to be all about Eddie Startz this
month, is NOT airing at scheduled time of 0600-0800 on WRMI 7780 to Europe.
Instead I am hearing some familiar `World Music` default fill, African
percussion & chanting, 0632 on to another tune. Still music at 0701 final
check. This is S9+10, but off side of beam as always much weaker here than BS
on 7570 to NW at S9+50, and 7730 to WNW at S9+30. I suppose there will be
another try to make good a week later. Meanwhile, will the scheduled repeat to
North America, UT Monday October 31 at 0100-0300 on 7570, transpire? (frequency
which Keith mis-spoke on MN+ at ``7750``) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 11580, Sunday Oct 30 at 1441, preaching other than TOM on WRMI-1,
since `Worship in your Home` is on sked grid as Sundays only 1300-1500, but
doesn`t show what occurs rest of week, which as we hear, is really World Music
during the 14-15 hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5810, Oct 30 at 1335, WEWN Spanish is still on and JBA carrier on
15610 must be WEWN English; but neither 11550 nor 12050 is on with Spanish.
WEWN has yet to put up a B-16 sked but A-16:
http://www.ewtn.com/radio/freq.htm
shows both 25m frequencies during this hour, and 5810 finishing at 0500! HFCC
B-16 shows 11550 totally abandoned by WEWN, 12050 starting at 1400; AND: 5810
greatly expanded to a 00-14 UT span. But only two of any three scheduled
frequencies are funxioning until and unless the third transmitter be fixed
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ZAMBIA. 13680, Oct 30 at 1332, Voice of Hope - Africa with scheduled Swing
music show as bait for evangelism, only S2. Is such music really attractive to
an African audience? At least the show gets back on SW with KVOH 9975 still
silent (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Conditions have been so bad the last few days that I hadn't been able to
hear Radio Thailand's English broadcast on 15590kHz at 0000utc to North
America.. and they are usually nearly a SINPO of 45445 almost daily, often
hitting 55555 across the board.

The slightest atmospheric puke wreaks havoc on signals up here in Alaska
