PPE is managed by the Divisão Serviço de Hora Certa (Corrected Time Service
Departament) of Observatório Nacional in Rio.

They also broadcast in VHF, which I believe is focused to maritime users
and some commercial customers (Radio Relogio 580/4905 and phone carriers
come to mind).

PY4ZBZ Roland did some measurements when they reactivated the station few
years ago. He found PPE uses AM with the LSB-supressed with the carrier a
bit off-frequency.
