** CUBA. 11860, April 9 at 2247, RHC Spanish on new frequency, tough luck
Saudi/Yemen. Also on 11830, 11840, 11850 (two of them spurs), and Portuguese on
11880, Cuba plentiful within 50 kHz! Until now 11860 RHC was just a JBA
second-order spur out of 11840. Now it`s full power, intentionally scheduled to
Europe at 1930-2300 in French, Portuguese, Arabic and Spanish; but 11860 still
on at 2338 S9+10 with JBM music, // 11840 which is now suptorted; wiggle that
patchcord!

11880, which was on earlier, April 9 at 2338 is now off instead of English as
confirmed the day before and the day after.

7330, April 9 at 2342, new for RHC Spanish, despite adjacency to 7335 jamming
and Radio Mart?, best tuned with LSB. How long will Arnie keep this and 7340 in
the mornings? Normally stays at least 10 away from his jammers (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13740, April 10 at 1400, CRI English relay, but ALSO RHC in Spanish
making fast SAH --- so two separate transmitters, for RHC until 1400 and China
after 1400. Roughly equal levels, but more modulation in Spanish. Collision
lasts until about 1405, RHC off by 1406; something`s always incompetent at
RadioCuba. Commies vs Commies, Cubans vs Cubans.

What else is happening after 1400?
13700 (ex-15370) is not on yet at 1401, supposed to start at 1300.
7340 is S9-S6 but undermodulated, sked until 1500, after Mart? -1400.
6060 is still on at 1404, supposed to stop at 1400.
6100 is still on at 1405, with Asian CCI, supposed to stop at 1300.

12000, April 9 at 2210, no signal, new frequency scheduled 2100-0400.
11860, April 9 at 2210, now with het from 11856v Aparecida, Brasil; RHC off by
2330 today unlike yesterday
11700, April 9 at 2210, poor signal, new in Portuguese, plus 23-05 in Spanish
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1925, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11530, April 9 at 1846, Denge Welat with Kurdish talk,
interspersed with stingers, S5-S8; via FRANCE until 1900, then switches to
Pridnestrovye. No more Herwa in the way at 1930-2000, 11530 canceled by WRMI
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MADAGASCAR. 17640, April 9 at 1842, no signal from MWV English hour, which
normally is loud and clear here on the other worldside; off the air, or very
depressed propagation? WWV reported at 1800 K index of 2, no storms yet, but G1
expected in next 24 hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. 9330v-CUSB, April 9 at 2340, no signal from WBCQ for WOR
1924 at 2330; 5130v and 7490v are on and in OK. WOR 1924 confirmed April 10 at
0030 UT Tuesday on WRMI 7730, S9+20/30. Also confirmed Tuesday April 10 at 2030
& 2130 both on fair 9455, and poor in noise 7780. Again Tue Apr 10 at 2330, no
signal from 9330 WBCQ (nor any earlier in the day at random chex).

WORLD OF RADIO 1925 contents: Albania non, Algeria non, Australia, Bolivia,
Brasil, Congo and non, Cuba, Egypt, India, International Waters and non, Korea
South, Kurdistan non, Mali, Mongolia, New Zealand, Nigeria non, Oklahoma,
Romania, Taiwan non, Turkey, Ukraine, USA; and the propagation outlook

** U S A. 9955 // < 9455, Tue April 10 at 1335, WRMI with a `new` `Viva Miami`,
Jeff monolog in English instead of Spanish about HFCC in Malaysia three months
ago, cuisine, resorts, extracurricular activities (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9487.9 & 9462.1, April 9 at 1850, plus and minus ~12.9 kHz parasitic
spurs out of 9475.0 WTWW, again implying that it`s the #2 transmitter which
flanx the same around 5085 at night, is now in use on the #1 frequency in the
daytime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1925, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1130, April 9 at 1808 UT check, KLEY Wellington KS is now completely
off the air, not off the air for a few seconds at a time. But at 1858 recheck,
now it`s on continuously, 1859 UT ID plugging their FM 100.3 which is a
translator (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7465.6-LSB approx., April 10 at 0615, intermittent talk soon
obvious as one side of a ham contact, but the SSB pitch is unsteady depending
on modulation level. To try to keep him sounding normal, I`m having to keep
tuning between 7465.5 and 7465.7 or so.

Suspected a harmonic from 80m band, and then hear what sounds like the same guy
on 3733.0-LSB, but no chance to match on two receivers. Altho weaker than x 2,
fundamental frequency is steady, modulation OK. Several interchanges with no
IDs before I doze (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ALASKA [and non]. 6045, April 11 at 1222, KNLS English with heavy QRM from
V. of Freedom, KOREA SOUTH, ex-5917.4v. At least one of them playing music.
This single KNLS English hour has a second frequency:

7355, April 11 at 1223, moderate Cuban jamming against no Mart? ever anymore,
blocking weak carrier from presumed KNLS in English. Tnx a lot, Arnie! (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** COLOMBIA. 5910.354V, April 11 at 0631, Alcarav?n Radio is back after absence
several nights, now good S9-S7 with peppy troppy music not suitable for the
nightmiddle. No sign of the other HJDH, La Voz de tu Conciencia, circa 6010v
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, April 11 at 0635, guess what: RHC English back on here ex-6180
after three days. Maybe Arnie got our message about all the collisions on 6180;
or maybe it`s a mistake, old habits dying hard by the RadioCuba sloppyrators.
6180 still shows on an ``updated`` sked via Wolfgang B?schel today. Remains //
6000, 6100, about equally undermodulated, and 6060 more modulated. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 9535, April 11 at 1102, RHC is good already, just opening `Despertar
con Cuba` with B?rbara Betancourt for the next trihour. 7340 is JBA; 6100, 6060
and 6000 are good. Nothing audible on 11 or 13 MHz bands this early (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 13740, April 11 at 1358, RHC Spanish, seems under S9+30 open carrier
prior to CRI English relay via a different transmitter. Another transmitter
with CRI on 9570 is not off quite yet. Better coordinated today on 13740: at
1400 RHC stops and CRI opening English news in the clear.

13700 is not off today for RHC, at 1400 starting 48 minutes of `Sonido Cubano`,
``m?sica cubana de todos los tiempos``, first song titled ``Amor Prohibido``.
13670, yet another RHC transmitter at 1402 still on with S9+20 of dead air
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 7435, April 11 at 1227, jamming against no Mart? anymore,
instead blocking CRI in Chinese, eastward from Beijing site; Commies vs
Commies! Also 7355 jamming against ALASKA, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH. 5917.4v, April 11 at 1222, no signal from Voice of Freedom,
since per Ron Howard, on April 10 it moved back to 6045.0.

6045, April 11 at 1222, at least two signals making fast SAH, music from one of
them, i.e. Voice of Freedom colliding with KNLS ALASKA, q.v. Now will this VOF
start drifting downward like 5920 did? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 550, April 11 at 1151, ``Amanecer Ranchero de la Super-Estaci?n``,
i.e. XEPL, Ciudad Cuauht?moc, Chihuahua (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 570, April 11 at 1126, ``BJB, m?sica regional mexicana``, repeated,
i.e. XEBJB, Monterrey NL (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 610, April 11 at 1149, different music than 650, but at 1200, XEGS
Guasave, Sinaloa, joins 650 for `Noticiero Altavoz`, and the pair are
synchronized. 650 always with a bigger signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 650, April 11 at 1149, neat singing ID as ``Somos Grupo Ch?vez``,
``y Noticiero Altavoz``, UT -6 TC, but not yet, more music. News starts at
1200, from XETNT, Los Mochis, Sinaloa when sibling station XEGS 610 joins in
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 790-, April 11 at 1129, Radio F?rmula ID in passing, makes rumbling
het vs lots of CCI, primarily 790.0 KURM Rogers, Arkansas. From SW, presumed
XENT, La Paz, BCS. John Wilkins, CO, reported to NRC IDXD, ``Tough copy and no
ID but XENT has been on this off-frequency for years``, 789.96, which was his
measurement, not mine, but I do not dispute it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 800-, April 11 at 1130, ad for Laboratorios Camacho en Fresno,
California, 800#, presumably a medicine mill; full ID as ``800 AM, ---
internacional, Radio Ca??n, (street address), Ciudad Ju?rez, Chihuahua, M?xico,
Grupo Siete!``. More plugs for Labs, 29:6 TC by autoYL, music. Nice to hear
XEROK as often inaudible at night; near-local KQCV OKC nulled as much as
possible, with which it makes a SAH of 104/minute on the low side = 1.73 Hz.
Not long before KQCV takes over (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 830, April 11 at 1133, Spanish dominating from SSW, while WCCO is
JBA to zero in auroral conditions (670 WSCR Chicago is also JBA to zero); 1134
mis-time-check thrice as 6:32 (UT -5 CDT zone), and 1135 UT as 6:33; 1137 WCCO
gaining a little; 1143 I make sure the SS is NOT from SSE which would be
Louisiana. At 1146 it`s alone with ID in passing as ``La Caliente`` which is
XELN, Linares, Nuevo Le?n. That town is closer to due S from here than SSW; SE
of Monterrey on the railroad to Ciudad Victoria, intersecting Rio Conchos, near
the Tamaulipas state line (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U K [non]. 5875, April 11 at 0628, African song, poor S3-S5. HFCC shows it`s
BBC French, 27 degrees from ASCENSION. 0629 horns and African language, now
converted to Hausa from same (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1925 monitoring: unfortunately awake Wed April 11 at
1051, I try 9455 WRMI where WOR is supposed to be getting its first SW airing
this week at 1030: straining, only detect a JJBA carrier, and by 1058 still not
enough signal to recognize if it`s I. Nothing at all audible on any other WRMI
frequency including 9955. 31 mb is just about dead, EXCEPT: 9805, wall-of-noise
S9+10 Cuban jamming against inaudible Mart?; if Cuba is propagating, why not
neighbor Okeechobee?

No change in 9455 after 1100, but now 9955 is on and JBA S1-S2 with RAE in
Portuguese. (NOT at 1200 any more, as RAE was quoted by Communication of the
British DX Club); by 1145 recheck, both 9955 and // 9455 have built up to
respectable signals, S8 on 9455. So was 9455 really on but not propagating
before 1100?? But I digress; better luck, next WORs:
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2100 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW

Tue 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW

** U S A. 7505v, April 11 at 0626, very poor signal, in Chinese? WRNO still on
at 1228, now S9+30 praise music in Chinese, somewhat distorted modulation and
occasional bursts of noise or over-modulation; 1231 YL Chinese talk. Is the
entire expanded overnight transmission in Chinese, 0300-1300? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, April 11 at 1056, WTWW is on at S9+30 of C&W music, Ted
announcement as ``from a casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, at an ungodly hour``;
why? Why not? Is gambling OK with passed-away Pastor Pete Peters whose heirs
own this thing? Also with the weak parasitic spurs circa 5072.1 and 5097.9
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Pacific JBA MW carrier search, April 11 at 1115-1123:
774(2)-NW & WSW, 756-WSW, 702(2)-WSW, 675-WSW, 612-WSW, 603-WSW, 594(2)-WSW &
NW, 585-WSW; 828-NW, 846-WSW, 882-WSW; 1098-W (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
