** CHINA. 9200, July 1 at 1227, CNR1 music and talk // 11785 and many others.
Aoki/NDXC shows it`s a *jammer vs Sound of Hope on 9199.907, but no het audible
from that (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 9585 approx., July 1 at 1230, filthy spur QRMing KSDA [see GUAM], out
of the 9570 relay of CRI. Also at 1346 vs BBC Burmese via Singapore, and a
match circa 9555. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba. These spurs have been
spewing for years (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 13740, July 1 at 1246, RHC is S9+20/30 during `Cuba
Campesina` rustic music, with squeals on this defective transmitter.

13700, July 1 at 1246, RHC is not on yet, but there is a JBA carrier, which
Aoki/NDXC shows would be CNR13, in Uighur via Lingshi 725 site until 1400.
Incredibly, Aoki has no entry for RHC on 13700, let alone all the spurs:

13700, July 1 at 1302, RHC has just come on, and it`s blasting spurs all over
the place at 66- or 67-kHz intervals, accompanied by the persistent F# tone
above Cmiddle, which helps identity the furthest ones out, while closer in,
programming is recognizable if tuned in FM mode. Here are the approx. center
frequencies, but the stronger closer clearest ones spread up to 10 kHz wide:
13766, 13833, 13900, 13966, 14033 - bothered with CW QRM as it INTRUDES into
the 20m hamband.

13635, 13567, 13500, 13434 - mixing with CODAR, 13369, 13300, 13233, 13167,
13100, 13033. The bottom four are JBA, with a trace on the lowest. That`s a
total of 15, five on the plus side, ten on the minus side, perhaps the greatest
number so far. Yet, other days there will be none at all; you never know. If
not this, something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** KOREA NORTH. 15180, July 1 at 1248, tune-in just in time for a note or two
of music, dead air at S7-S9 until 1250*, yet the SSOB. It`s KCBS via VOK in
Korean as scheduled 1200-1250. Why can`t KBS do at least this well on 15575 to
North America after 1300? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GUAM. 9585.020, July 1 at 1230, off-frequency with AWR theme barely audible.
Aoki/NDXC shows KSDA changing from Amoy to Cantonese at 1230. Also has QRM from
China/Cuba 9570 spur also circa 9585 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. DTV RF 23, July 1 at 1426 UT, KSBI signal is stronger than usual
on the bar, and decoding with breakups, better than it had been doing for 2+
weeks; but still not up to the solid level of all the other full-power OKC UHF
signals on 15, 24, 27, 29, 33, 39, 40, 50. Hepburn maps show only slight
level-1 tropo over Oklahoma forecast for 1500, and there is no DX improvement,
not even KBZC-LD 42. Will check further at dead afternoon conditions. By 1700,
23 is either no signal or frozen-screen breakups of video art. KSBI has not
replied to my June 28 inquiry about their weak signal, but maybe are doing
something about it. In the meantime, it might be prudent to apply to FCC for a
low-power STA (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SUDAN SOUTH [non]. 9665, July 1 at 0434, after hearing nothing at 0400 via
UTwente SDR, checking own receiver for signs of the new unnamed clandestine?
via Woofferton as in HFCC starting this date at 0400-0500 --- instead I hear
Brazuguese, on off-frequency 9664.907, i.e. R. Voz MissionĂ¡ria as usual, and no
het from anything on 9665.0. By 0528 recheck, not even RVM is audible.

13810, July 1 at 1500-1530+, I monitor via UTwente for the alleged 15-17 UT
broadcast of the mystery clandestine, this one via UAE site --- but nothing at
all audible, so no point in checking for it here. Maybe starts tomorrow? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENINGN DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5030, July 1 at 1253, intriguing JBA carrier in the sideband of
5025 Cuba. No broadcasters known now on this frequency. Need to check it much
earlier than a sesquihour+ after sunrise. It`s even weaker than Asian JBA
carrier remnants on 4940, 4900, 4885, 4800. I guess it`s not Sarawak or Tonga
reactivated, since westcoasters like Ron Howard are not reporting anything on
5030, so possibly of local origin here (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
