** CHINA [and non]. 4870, Nov 19 at 1355, the RIS9 CW marker allegedly
from PLA Beijing is quite stronger than last time, but a JBA weaker
carrier is slightly lower, presumably AIR Nepali service from Delhi
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1957, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 9720, Nov 18 after 2200, RHC not on the air tho supposed to
be in English this hour; at 2308 is on in French instead of 2100+, and
at 2350 sounds like Kriyol, while Portuguese was supposed to be
shifted to 2130. Nov 19 at 0009, 9720 is now in English as originally
scheduled for B-18. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

5040, Nov 19 at 0649 check, no RHC English here; supposed to be on
until 0700; may well have been off earlier instead of Spanish.

6165, Nov 19 at 0653, no RHC English here either, the AWOL 49m
frequency this time, retaining 6100, 6060 and 6000 at roughly equal
modulation levels for a change. All these are supposed to last until
0800. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

15140, Nov 19 at 1511, RHC is on today and VG // 15230, which are the
two SSOB, hardly any other ones from anywhere.

9720, Nov 19 circa 2245, RHC is not on air, but at 2304 it is, S9+20
of dead air, no French, no English. At 2307 a few words of Spanish cut
on --- no, that`s not right, so back to dead air. I leave a receiver
running here and occasionally hear sounds of fading, but no modulation
at all. Still listening after 0020 Nov 20, but the carrier has gone
off somewhen. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

5040, Nov 20 at 0220, this RHC is again/still AWOL. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1957, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** FRANCE [non]. 5950, Nov 19 at 0650, what`s on instead of RFI
English hour via WRN via WRMI? Kelka shows in French, presumably also
RFI which also occupies the following bihour now in otherlangs. 0659.5
interrupted for WRMI Ian ID, 0700 into RFI Spanish (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 1957, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** INTERNATIONAL VACUUM [non]. As I complete this report I am watching
Ep 2, Season 2 of `Mars` on National Geographic cable channel. I never
watched Season 1, but caught Ep 1 last week. It`s a strange mixture of
docu and drama. Sorry, but I find the scenes on Mars completely
unconvincing: space suits are obviously not pressurized as they are
thin, loose and baggy; and somehow terraforming must have already
boosted gravity up to 1G! I know it would be hard to simulate 0.38 G,
but walking around Mars would be like the loping we saw by Moon men,
but less so than 0.16 G. The docu parts do raise some important issues
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA SOUTH. 4885, Nov 19 at 1358, Korean song at S9-S7, much
better signal than usual from Echo of Hope, listed as 10 kW ND, 1400 a
few words of English I think, and different music. So I check some
other frequencies:

6135, Nov 19 at 1402, wall-of-noise KN jamming with a carrier amid it

5995, Nov 19 at 1403, EOH in Korean over WON jamming; 100 kW ND

5920, Nov 19 at 1404, Voice of Freedom, song with orchestra, no
jamming; 10 kW from same site as the others per Aoki (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 39, Nov 19 at 1820 UT, I notice that the old channel
of KWTV is still on but now PSIP labeled 39-3 & 39-4. But the repack
channel RF 25, which has been testing for weeks either with TP or //
programming, is still significantly weaker, a BAD signal or on the
verge breaking in and up. Recheck around 0430 UT Nov 20, it is indeed
in // programming and labeled 39-1 & 39-2, but still insufficient on
my antenna. So 25 is all set to become the primary/only channel. If
this is the best they can do, we shall miss having decent reception
from our CBS affiliate! Occasional rescanoklahoma promos are still
appearing (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1956 monitoring: Ivo Ivanov,
Bulgaria, reports:

Also confirmed UT Monday November 19 at 0230 on 5950 very poor, and

WOR 1956 also confirmed UT Mon Nov 19 starting at 0401:40 on Area 51

** U S A. 7730 & 5850, UT Monday Nov 9 at 0700 and still 0721 no
signals from WRMI. Kim Elliott of `SW Radiogram` had said his show was
moved from Mondays at 0800 to UT Sundays, 24 hours earlier and less
inconvenient? in North America. This presumably also applies to `Broad
Spectrum Radio`, beepery from OK in the hour preceding it from 0700.
And the WRMI skedgrid now specifies Sundays-only for these at 0700-
0900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1957, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5009.931, Nov 20 at 0220, checking for WRMI which last
week was running 5010 here during WORLD OF RADIO, but meanwhile
deleted from schedule. Now there is a JBA signal with bits of music
and slightly off-frequency, none of which point to WRMI. What else
could it be? RHC 5040 is off, so that rules out a leapfrog over 5025
Rebelde. 5010 could bear a 3 x 1670 harmonic, but fundamental would
also have to be off-frequency, and the closest 1670 is nonmusical WOZN
Madison sportstalk. Aoki`s Honduran and Dominican listed have been
gone for years. AIR T`m, India supposedly stops at 0215 as a night
frequency. A further spur from bigsig 5085 WTWW-2 which is on now with
music? No, does not work out as a multiple of 12.9 kHz like 5072.1,
which has also produced a second-order blob about 5059.2.

But there is one likely source left. R. Madagaskira which has been
active lately, signs on at 0200, and in the past has varied a few kHz
either side of 5010, in USB probably with reduced carrier. See this
report: ``5010, R. TV Madagasikara, Ambohidrano, 1745-1758, 28/10.
Franc?s; texto, m?sica; 25331. 73, Carlos L R de Assun??o Gon?alves,
Portugal``. Can someone confirm its current exact frequency? If I hear
this again, will try to tell whether it lack LSB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9992.3-USB, Nov 19 at 1415, 2-way probably Spanish, just
below another one on 9995 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9995-USB, Nov 19 at 1415, 2-way in Asian? language,
suffering from some tix de WWV; as they are intruding into the SFTS
band. Two reasons they should have used LSB (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

Last night (20/11 0025 UTC) I heard a station at 4710 kHz with pop music, male
voice from a studio, which is not listed under usual support controls. No
conditions to identify the language.
I was interested in this station, since the fading was very accentuated, and
details were only possible to be detected with the use of a headphone. SINPO:
15321.
Rx: KiwiSDR (S?o Bernardo) + Mini Whip Antenna. I would like to hear an idea on
this.

** ALASKA. 7560, Nov 20 at 1356, harmonious hymn, by YL trio? ``This
is My Father`s World`` in non-English, S6-S8, Chinese announcement and
jingle, 1358 dead air, 1400 KNLS IS, Chinese ID, more IS, until
1402:40 finally themetune and opening. This is on 300-degree beam from
Anchor Point, presumably the same show via Madagascar. KNLS English is
also at 1400 but can`t remember the frequency. Listed as 7320, where I
certainly did not notice it in bandscan, 270 degrees, and often they
really have only one transmitter operational (Glenn Hauser, OK DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000 & 6165, Nov 20 at 0723, both these RHC frequencies are
off, leaving us with only 6060 & 6100.

6150, however, Nov 20 at 0724 sports an S9+10 carrier maybe just
barely modulated and seems like RHC; 6150 is their secret new
frequency normally on air from *1200, and reconfirmed today before
1400. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 15140, Nov 20 at 1411, this RHC is AWOL again, while 15230
remains. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

11760, Nov 20 at 1448, this RHC is very undermodulated, compared to
15230, 13700, etc. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KUWAIT. 11629.7, Nov 20 at 1419, R. Kuwait only a JBA carrier
instead of usual good signal Qur`aning. This is strange because
Turkey, q.v. along the same path is in sufficiently well now on 11815
and 12035.7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. I misstated the PSIP channel numbers displayed as 39-1,
etc., instead of 9-1, etc.; corrected:

RF 39, Nov 19 at 1820 UT, I notice that the old channel of KWTV is
still on but now PSIP labeled 9-3 & 9-4. But the repack channel RF 25,
which has been testing for weeks either with TP or // programming, is
still significantly weaker, a BAD signal or on the verge breaking in
and up. Recheck around 0430 UT Nov 20, it is indeed in // programming
and labeled 9-1 & 9-2, but still insufficient on my antenna. So 25 is
all set to become the primary/only channel. If this be the best they
can do, we shall miss having decent reception from our CBS affiliate!
Occasional rescanoklahoma promos are still appearing.

RF 40, KAUT ``43`` is now also running some FCC notification I have
yet to absorb completely. It`s repacking to RF 19, but not as soon as
KWTV? There is no test signal on 19 yet (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 12035.695, Nov 20 at 1412, VOT English with Turkish music
at S9-S5, way off-frequency today; while 11815.00 TRT Turkish at 1416
is only ~6 Hz away from NHK, roughly equal signals mutually producing
a heavy SAH = subaudible heterodyne (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. 9330.025, Nov 20 at 1405, WBCQ BS adjusted much closer to
nominal; it had been 9330.232 on Nov 14 and I think just yesterday
almost that high (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1250, Nov 20 at 1348 UT, nulling KYYS, Spanish from Kansas
City, I have a sports station in English, itself roughly N/S, talking
about ``The Blitz``, which I assume is some local team, then
commercial for Augie`s Barbecue, on Broadway. It seems there is no
current Blitz team altho there used to be one in Chicago. Blitz may
now be some sports-oriented promotional entity or non-turf game.

Search on the BBQ however leads right to San Antonio TX, and I also
heard ``1604`` mentioned, which is the outer loop around SA beyond I-
410. So this is KZDC, 25000/920 watts U4, major daylobe to NW. With
ESPN. Fits since 1200 WOAI is also still in. Don`t recall hearing KZDC
before, maybe a previous call? But it`s been KZDC since 1995! And I
did last log it in March, 2015. Well legal now, post-sunrise at 1300
UT in Nov (1315 UT in Dec) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
