Using the U. Twente SDR receiver, noted beginning of the French broadcast of
Voice of Africa from Sudan at about 16:30 UTC today (23 February) on
9505.002 kHz. Signal was initially fairly good. English followed time pips
at 17:15 UTC (last pip at 17:15:06 allowing for usual approximately
one-second receiver/Internet delay). The news broadcast included the
announcement of the declaration of a state of emergency in Sudan for one
year and the list of new state governors appointed from the military. The
signal started to deteriorate around 17:30 UTC and dropped into the noise
shortly thereafter.
