re: MLI - CHN relay site contract.

That means due of limited local main power circuit, the origin
BBEF 150 kW type manufacture called TBH 522 of 2005 year,
were in use as limited down to 100 kW only.

Despite the MLI - CHN diplomatic contract mentioned of 150 kW units
to be used at the African CRI relay site ?

RTM 4783 and 4835v were only by 50 kW of power.

MALI Checked yesterday Monday March 11:

7295even MLI CRI Bamako in Mandarin at 23.10 UT

in BEL/GER only tiny S=4 or -98dBm, l o w modulated signal,
S=8 in Doha Qatar SDR unit,
S=9+5dB -68dBm in Massachusetts US state,
in New Jersey and
S=9+10dB or -63dBm in Cape Canaveral Florida too.

11975even MLI CRI Bamako in Mandarin at 23.14 UT

11975 was tiny weak in MA at S=4-5,
S=7 or -86dBm in New Jersey,
S=8 -80dBm in Cape Canaveral FL at 23.17 UT,
S=7 or -86dBm in Doha Qatar ME.

MALI 5995.000 even plus a half Hertz ...
RTM Radio Mali Bamako, the 50 kW unit heard l o w modulated
in French annmt and long lasting guitar mx program 22.56 to 23.02.30 UT
then French talk followed, S=7-8 or -83dBm noted here
in west European SDRs.
Much QRM by adjacent RHC Quivican TITAN San Felipe outlet
across the Atlantic on even 6000 kHz.

Compared IBB BBG VoA Botswana relay transmissions at same time / meterbands
were always a S-step stronger than Bamako Mali transmissions.

Any idea who on 1000khz would play a Bruno Mars song at 625pm
mountain/725pm central, 0225UTC ), which is Hot AC pop? They then played
another hot AC/pop song and 5 minutes later signed off entirely or severely
dropped power?

I dont think its XETAC Tapachula and I found a stream for XECSV 1000 which
does appear to play english language music, but couldn't find a previous
playlist

** BRAZIL. 11780, March 13 at 0137, RNA mentioning stations relaying
this program in Pernambuco, TC for 22:38. S9/S9+20 good and hardly
anything else on 25m except stronger RHC on 11840, 11760, 11700,
11670. Meanwhile, RNA is not on 6180, leaving it clear for CRI English
via Cuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165 & 6100 & 6060 & 6000, Tue March 12 at 0631, all four RHC
English, at a variety of modulation levels, remain on this hour (but
not 5040), unlike last night, when due to EDT(?) only one of them did.

So here we go, utter confusion at RHC about how to cope with clock
time changes. Not checked morning or afternoon of Monday March 11 as I
was busy preparing and recording WORLD OF RADIO 1973, but by Tuesday
March 12 I find things quite different than they were on Sunday, first
day of EDT. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

9720, March 12 at 2145, is NOT on the air, despite Sunday having moved
English-allegedly-to-Africa into the 21-22 hour instead of 22-23. But
today at *2154 the RHC IS starts playing, until 2201 morphing into
theme and opening --- French! Then at 2245 check the second half of
this hour is back in --- Brazuguese! i.e. where they had been until
March 10. 9720 at 2317 check is in --- English! Where it was before,
but now // 5040 which has shifted an hour earlier. So now English
again starts at 1 am in RSA where it is supposedly aimed, 23-24 UT.
Something`s always wrong at RHC.

15370, March 12 at 2144, RHC is in Spanish along with 9640 and very
poor 11760; and still at 2211 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5990, March 13 at 0101, CRI English relay starting news, but
cut to dead air at 0101.5, and cut carrier at 0102.4*. Supposed to be
turned off before 0100. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also BRAZIL

** CUBA. 11670, March 13 at 0139, RHC Spanish is suptorted < 11700 <
11840 < 11760 in strength and modulation. Something`s always wrong at
RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165 // 6000, UT Wed March 13 at 0143, RHC English with Arnie
Coro, must be `DXers Unlimited Mitweek Edition`, but undermodulated on
the upper and suptorted unusable on the lower. Something`s always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MALI. 17630 // 13685, March 12 at 1439, two JBA signals, matching
for the two CRI English relay frequencies both active today. Nothing
much else audible on 16m except JBA carriers on 17705 & 17615+ Saudis
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1230, March 12 at 1351 UT, WBBZ Ponca City on groundwave
ID in passing as ``Sunny 104.7``, so still branding as defunct FM
format; I can also get 104.7 which IDs as ``New 104-7, The Bull``, NOT
// and playing different music. 1230 does run a legal WBBZ ID at 1401
UT.

Another check around 1830 UT finds the same situation, but also with
``WBBZ Sunny 12-30`` IDs. I already dealt at length with this strange
situation in my log almost 5 months ago, Oct 17, as also in DXLD 18-43
http://www.w4uvh.net/dxld1843.txt
So one of our rare W-call legacy stations is still confused about
identity (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ROMANIA. 6130 // 7325, March 13 at 0104, RRI English here, rather
than 7375 as I logged last night; and nothing now on 7375; too much
storm noise to detect any jamming around either (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7295-AM, March 12 at 2215, `CQ 40 AM from K3IAM in New
Mexico``. Gave callsign only once, during a fade and seemingly
unfonetikaly, so not positive of it, but QRZ.com lookup entering K3IAM
puts him in Arizona, close, maybe needs updating:

``AA7ST USA flag USA
alias for: K3IAM
John C Smith
4697 W Cholla Bluff Dr
Marana, AZ 85658-4262 USA``

ARRL lookup gets no results for K3IAM, but agrees on AA7ST. He made
one more CQ and then gave up. Sorry, no transmitter here or I might
have answered. What exactly do we mean by ``alias``, legally in this
context? No mention of AA7ST (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

Full schedule including AM, FM, webcasts, satellite, podcast access:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7490.17, UT Wed March 13 at 0052, WBCQ `Available Time Slot`
with another `Allan Weiner Worldwide` playback as he is ranting
against civil engineers.

5130.47, UT Wed March 13 at 0053, WBCQ with something about pathways
at Valley Forge. `Amateur Radio Roundtable` would not be starting
until 0100, and *still* nothing shown on the schedule for 00-01 UT
weekdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1480, March 13 at 0155, YL in Vietnamese more or less atop
the jumble, into music; presumed KBXD Dallas. I ask again, is it
partly-, or all-Vietnamese now? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 4980-USB, March 12 at 0634, 2-way in Spanish, weak but
nothing from Venezuela or Okeechobee to block it; and if this is a
fixed band, then not an intruder. Mentions ``Italia 28`` a couple of
times, but doubt that`s a flight (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6903-USB, March 13 at 0054, secret alfanumeric message
tuned in as ``I say again: ZMCUZOEUGVHWIDPQ2AKJ6J3NIPGOWL --- this
message consists of 30 characters --- this is C3Q --- out``

Quite clearly enunciated, and double-checked for copy accuracy, but --
Guess what, entered into yahoo and google searches, NO documents
found. Could have been a pirate pretending to be military/security
agency, but sounded quite serious and constrained (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9985.033, March 12 at 1510, Korean at S3-S5, i.e. Radio
Free Asia, which QSL Dept. claims to be active from SAIPAN again
(originally scheduled as neighboring Tinian), but Ivo Ivanov and I are
not so sure. Anyhow it`s from a site with imprecise frequency accuracy
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
