6:55pm mountain Thu. Dec 5, 2019 , KART 1400 Jerome, Idaho with a fairly
loud "Delta Dawn" by Tanya Tucker, with a match to webstream. Signal stayed
listenable for about 30 seconds, then faded out a bit. But peaked enough to
get a legal id in the mud
470 miles form Jerome, ID to Laramie, WY
ICOM IC746Pro and 25 foot long by 10 foot tall magnetic loop antenna

The signal held up somewhat, very weak and muddy compared to Delta Dawn,
but 4-5 minutes later, I got Amarillo By Morning/George Strait and Daddy's
Come Around To Momma's Way Of thinking/Paul Overstreet

** ARGENTINA [non]. 5800, Dec 5 at 0115, RAE ID in Spanish; relay via
WRMI still here after Cuba reclaimed 6060. Unfortunately, I have a
blob from a local device right on 5800. I could tell 5800 went off the
air at 0200 sharp Dec 6. I notified the condiglista about this ASAP
last night so everybody in Argentina should be aware of it, perhaps
even RAE (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2011, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CANADA. 7850-CUSB, Dec 5 at 2054, the middle frequency of CHU is
still off the air for another week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
2011, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 4765, Dec 6 at 0201, R. Progreso music is suptorted, S9+20
with CODAR QRM too. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** CUBA. 5040, Dec 5 at 0707, this RHC is still on in English, VG
S9+20/30, // only 6145. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** IRELAND [non] [Fixing typo in portion of last report]: . . .by 1930
recheck some longer talk program. 1959 sign-off with the other theme,
and now with CRI English ACI from *both* sides 7285 & 7295 [not 7290
as I wrote originally]. Before 1900 it`s on 7285 only, after 1900 on
7295 only. . . (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** JAPAN [non?]. 9890, Dec 5 at 2154, NHK Japanese is S9-S5, fair with
long/short path echo. I`m checking now becaus Rich D`Angelo on a
DX-pedition in Pennsylvania reported this going off the air at 2200.
But it`s scheduled until 2300, and around 2230 I have been hearing an
unreasonably strong signal for a broadcast aimed in the opposite
direxion; so could it be there is a secret site or azimuth shift at
2200? No, no break in transmission, no abrupt change in strength after
2159 ID, 2200 NHK timesignal and onward. However the signal steadily
grows to S9+10, and by 2231, S9+20/30. It appears there currently be a
``pipeline`` Yamata to Enido around this hour, perhaps graylinish
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** KURDISTAN [non]. 11540, Dec 5 at 1435, two stations mixing about
equally including chanting. The Kurdo-Turco radio war is getting to be
rather routine, ``Radio Recep Erdogan`` vs Denge Welat. BTW it appears
that Pridnestrovye site has been ordered not to QSL or reply to
listeners, apparently to prevent site info about clandestines from
getting out to the public (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2011, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)
** NORTH AMERICA. 5126-USB, Dec 5 at 0014, pirate with rock classics,
0020 ``Tutti Frutti``; 0027 ``Are You Lonesome Tonight`` by Elvis;
0027 quick YL ID as Mix Radio International. Still on at 0113 recheck,
fair and steady signal. Tnx to tip from Robert Butterfield, Maryland,
to the WOR iogroup, who was hearing it as early as 2205 Dec 4. Many
more logs here as early as 1931:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2011, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** PERU. 5980, Dec 4 at 2353, JBA carrier under Cuban jamming, from R.
Chaski, this time until autocutoff at 2355:11.5.
5980, Dec 5 at 2353, 24 hours later, now the cutoff is at 2355:09.5,
i.e. another 2 seconds earlier as the slippage continues (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2011, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9330, Dec 5 at 1423, WBCQ-6 SuperStation is off again; must
be having further problems. Still absent at rechex: 1543, 1918, 2009;
finally on in Arabic at next check 2026, only S7-S9 beamed away toward
main target supposedly Morocco instead of Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 2011, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. [Fixing minor typo in portion of last report:] ...6060, Dec
3 at 2332, WRMI in accented English, presumably the Supreme Master
herself, weak and undermodulated but in the clear. After 2355 I am
standing by for RHC to come on and so it does at *2357:14 as in
separate log, blowing away WRMI: I can`t even tell if it`s still on. .
. (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5970, Dec 5 at 0711, S9/+10 of dead air from WEWN Spanish,
as frequently happens this time of night. Is no one paying attention
at Vandiver or Irondale? Of course not! Who would be listening to RCC
stuff at this ungodly hour? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 5890, Dec 5 at 0712, WWCR another station competing in the
dead-air sweepstakes, in this case not even supposed to be on air now
with modulation. S9+30, same as modulated 5935. Seems like UT Thursday
is a favorite DOW for this; why? Mis-programmed automation while they
snooze? 100 kW for nothing. Of course most of their modulated 100 kWs
are also for nothing but gospel huxters and far-right extremist nuts
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
** U S A. 7505, Dec 6 at 0204, no signal yet from WRNO; but on at
0424, just as W&M prompt for contacts if we have tuned in by mistake;
something about haven in their names. S9+10 peaks but not a solid
signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
UNIDENTIFIED. 12000-USB, Dec 5 at 1430, weak 2-way in Spanish about a
puta --- what else? Strangely, no trace of RHC harmonic even tho 6000
is still audibly on the air (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
