SAUDI ARABIA [and non]. April 2 from 1812, via UTwente SDR, I cycle
thru the registered frequencies at this hour in HFCC B-19, since there
is nothing, yet? for A-20, not even an ARS page in the broadcasters`
list; and why is it Arabie Saoudite? O, yeah, English is a nothing
language for this SWBC, merely imagining 5 hours of it from 1600 on
9840, so I check that first:
9840, April 2 at 1812, ME music but Voice of Turkey ID in German at a
time it is supposed to appear, rather than after 2300 on 9830 failing
to turn off after English should it occasionally succeed.
Otherwise presume some are axually SA without digging deeper:
9580, nothing
6100, algo, Arabic from Jeddah scheduled but is anything from Jeddah?
9555, Arabic, mentions A-S; ACI from plus side
9675, Turkish
9870, Arabic JBA
11820.044, Arabic -- still not audible in OK
11915, Arabic much weaker
11930, Spanish from OCB mainly, maybe CCI SA
13720, nothing but noise
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2028)
SAUDI ARABIA. 17615.064, April 6 at 1447, S5-S6 with music probably
Qur'an, as this always-offfrequency makes a showing despite no
registrations and nothing audible on 17660, 17705 or 17895; would be
the OSOB except for JBA 17630 CRI Mali.
Others have monitored extensively to confirm most but not all
previously scheduled KSA broadcasts are still running, notably WOR iog
members Dr Hansjoerg Biener and Wolfgang Bueschel; not including
French, per Antoello Napolitano:
"Any idea for the French broadcast scheduled at 1355-1600 on 17660
kHz? I tried a number of times in the last days but nothing was
detected. This has been quite regular for years so I am wondering if
they stopped broadcasting in French (the only European language still
used by Saudi Radio on shortwaves) or simply moved to a new
frequency. I confirm, instead, the broadcast in Indonesian on 21670
kHz heard here in the South Italy on 4th April at 1017"
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

I'm pretty certain regional mexican formatted "Jose 1090" KMXA Denver is
off the air. It's 840am mountain time and I should have SOMETHING from them
signal wise here in Laramie, WY 150 miles away.. I don't hear them now and
haven't had a signal from them all morning. And come to think of it,
Tuesday or Wednesday night I think, I noticed they weren't a problem at
sunset like normal. And one person in Denver also says he can't hear them
right now either, so if they're on, it's low power.. but again, I don't
think they're on

wise here in Laramie, WY 150 miles away.. I don't hear them now and haven't had
a signal from them all morning. And come to think of it, Tuesday or Wednesday
night I think, I noticed they weren't a problem at sunset like normal.? And one
person in Denver also says he can't hear them right now either, so if they're
on, it's low power.. but again, I don't think?they're on

** ARGENTINA [non]. 9395, April 10 at 0105, RAE via WRMI with Spanish
in progress instead of English; generic comments by Fernando Far?as
about the quarantine situation with regular programming unavailable.
0111 switches to French, soon devoting its time to summary of DX info:
IRRS with schedule of Bannon`s Pandemic show; Catholic station at
Gracias a Dios, Honduras; Radio Cuarentena; letter from a francophone
DX club.
0119 back to Fernando who also does the English segment, from home.
This is the second, apparently once-a-week pandemic program featuring
all the RAE language services. How April 2 is a significant date,
anniversary of the Malvinas War in 1982y; shortened edition of the
normally-Friday 7-10 minute DX Actuality feature: again about War Room
Pandemic, sked via IRRS; Honduras station. President has extended
lockdown in Argentina to April 13.
0127 outro in Spanish gives names of announcers in all 8 languages as
if we have just heard them all, ``Made en/in Casa`` on RAE/Argentina
al Mundo: Italian, Portuguese, French, German, Japanese, Chinese,
Spanish, English, in that order --- but we`ve heard only three of them
this semihour and I don`t think it started at 0030 tho I was not
listening then, rather to pirates. 0130 WRMI Spanish ID by Dino and
into Radio Prague International in English.
No other WRMI frequencies checked tonight except 5800 just after 0100
when it sounded again like Radio Taiw?n Internacional (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15140, April 9 at 1403, RHC is S9+20 but extremely distorted.
15230 and 13700 are OK, VG, no spurs; after 1900 in English, 15140 is
relatively clean today, different transmitter?
11760, April 9 at 1413, RHC is S9-S7 of dead air. Somethings` always
wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6953-USB, April 9 at 2324, pirate music at S3-S5;
2329 two announcers talking vs high storm noise level from south of
San Antonio and the southern half of Louisiana. ``Virus-19 Radio``,
maybe back tomorrow, maybe not. Radio conditions pretty damn good
tonight, getting up into New England. ``Good night, stay well``,
playing out on ``When I Die`` by Blood, Sweat & Tears until off at
2336*. More logs here with variations on ID with Zeke as host:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-USB, April 9 at 2326, S4-S6 soul music, 2328
announcement but too much reverb, etc., to copy; blues music. 2337
jive music with some cut-outs, YL ID at first sounds like ``Four AM
Radio`` with hotmail address like that; Mix Radio International ID,
jazz piano; 2342 ID I then realize is ``Cool AM Radio``. More logs:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6916-USB, April 10 at 0044, S9 of wild rock, lots of
yelling over the music as if a `live` event rather than any studio
announcements. Past 0100 when I switch to 9395 for Argentina. 0131
recheck still going with more of same hard rock. These say it`s Radio
48 via MRI, having started on 6880-USB but moved to 6916 at 0028:

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 341-MCW kHz, April 9 at 0613 UT, ND beacon OIN, which is 25
watts from Oberlin, Kansas; as EI Enid is still gone, but there are
loads of others on 341 I would like to hear (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5214-USB, April 10 at 0139, MARS? net mostly with abbr`d
calls, such as 8AM, 8HQ; one full call starting with AAR---; at 0141,
M8A in contact with 8HS, fonetikaly, declaring ``the net is free``.
Next few minutes occasional calls are ``closing stations``. Most
signals weak, a few good (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
