For medium wave enthusiasts who are interested in checking out the radio, please send me a note off list. The Kiwi is completely stripped down in terms of extensions as the unit is in complete isolation -- unattended as it were; meaning no DRM, no WSPR, no Tdoa, nothing only the basic modes. Our goal is to see how long a Kiwi will run with zero human contact and interaction. -- Colin Newell - Editor and creator Coffeecrew.com <http://www.Coffeecrew.com> and DXer.ca <http://www.DXer.ca> - Ham Radio VA7WWV | Twitter @CoffeeCrew | Victoria - B.C. I am making a point of surveying these now, altho an hour earlier would be even better, since recently some signals from ``China`` have been reported as far as Michigan on 1521 and 1098. With Sa`udi off 1521 after 2230v, any carrier there attracts attention. 1521 at 00-02 UT is CRI via Urumqi, East Turkistan, land of cultural genocide and ChiCom brainwashing of Uyghurs; in Russian with 500 kW, per EiBi, first hour to Siberia, second to Central Asia, so presumably with a beam change around 0100 more favorable to us. There is nothing else in Eurasia on 1521 over 10 kW. 1098 could be CNR-11 domestic service in Tibetan, 1000 kW from Golmud altho there are several lesser possibilities. * = strongest signals during this check; (2) = at least two carriers beating. 566.4 could be a local birdie; no such variants known.
