Hi Zach,
USA This PRESENT mini 7490v kHz unit is useless for trans-Atlantic
reception into Europe/North Africa azimuth target during March to Oct summer
season.
I guess azimuth on WBCQ in use is the other direction of 245 degrees on
limited 7 dB log-periodics ?
The other way around to move the great revolving Ampegon beast
of 300 kW from 9330 to 7490 kHz in 41 mb, for limited night hours only.

USA On March 7 at 01.07 UT checked a tiny -108dBm signal in Maine state
remotedly (but because lack of proper antenna in use there.)
In Rochester NY state much stronger at S=6 or -93dBm,
nice audio though at 01.25 UT, all on
7490.091 kHz on the upper flank.

Yesterday at Uncle Bill?s Melting Point on 2300z and 7490kHz via WBCQ I
mentioned several times in his special programfor dangdut music. Signal in
Europe was near marginal as testedin kSDRs in Twente, UK, Eire , Iceland ,
Sweden Finland and Zante in GR whilethe SDR in Thessaloniki was unplugged.
Local reception was also possible only outdoors and nearby the home with
signal just above the local highnoise.
If you are curious to know what is dangdut there is a second chance
tolisten! Just tune next Sunday at 0400-0500UTC on WBCQ's Radio Angela
service to North America and Europe on 4790 kHz.
Thank you! Also advise me on how the signal will be received in your area!

Help,
Rodney, next time tell us about this NPR NGO organization.
Where does NPR come from ?
10 minutes of searching on the Google Chrome website
did not show me a major US city as a home location.
NPR is completely unknown here ... but has excellent image design,
sharp photos though.

> Why fleeing Ukrainians get a warmer welcome in Europe than other refugees
That's easy: they are just East European neighbours,
they are mostly Catholic or even Yiddish Jews,
they are true families in the western sense, with young ladies,
their childs, their grandmas etc.
Even if about 4 million of 42 million Ukrainians will stay further on in
Western countries and Brexit England,
these Putin's war refugees are intelligent, they are educated people,
and most welcome in the EU as workers, students and pupils.
.... and as most welcome participants of our western home community.
The German state has allocated 23 billion dollars in the budget
every year since the Muslim emigrants crisis in 2015 under chancellor
Angela Merkel, we will certainly continue that annually also
for our welcome East European Slavs.

ps. Uyghurs
... are strong Turk Muslim faith,
that is the problem for the Chinese dictatorship of Communist Party
compared to their other 55 nationalities living-together in China mainland.

Quite frankly, obvious and trite epithets toward anything critical of
western media defeats any purpose it supposedly represents. That's all that
is going on in that article, nothing more. Anti-western media doesn't
necessarily equate to being "Pro-Putin" as you suggest. Unless, of course,
you'd rather follow the propaganda headlong into WWIII. Personally, I'd
rather not.
[...] If articles like that get your ire, brace yourselves. More are coming,
such
as the following:
Wenda likens Ukraine crisis to that of West Papua (
https://www.rnz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/462731/wenda-likens-ukraine-crisis-to-that-of-west-papua
)
Even NPR is noticing there's differences of how the west is treating this
Refugee crisis compared to others from Afghanistan, Syria, and Iraq in the
very recent past:
Why fleeing Ukrainians get a warmer welcome in Europe than other refugees
( https://www.npr.org/2022/03/03/1084201542/ukraine-refugees-racism )
If the first world is supposed to be more intellectually enlightened than
the rest, we might just start acting like it. Or is it just simple science
that the family fleeing Syrian gas attacks is treated as a "migrant" but all
Caucasian people fleeing Urkraine are automatically "Refugees". And, well,
China is good for western corporations, so you know, look the other way at
what is happening to the Uyghurs. - 73s

NPR is based in Washington DC, but is non-governmental. It is the prime
non-commercial radio network in the USA, featuring excellent journalism,
cultural entertainment.
I`ve hinted in the past to Jeff White that he should put at least some NPR news
on WRMI as a public service, offsetting crap like TOMBS, SMTV, etc., etc. Glenn

Hall on Radio Angela, Uncle Bill introducing, says may have guest
hosts later as show evolves; tonight: Act I of Rossini`s Barber of
Seville. Bill refers us to web for synopsis. I`m listening first via
Maryland remote but there is that pulsing whine and occasional
uteblaaps. To Missouri SDR it`s S8/+10, no whine but nearby storm
crashes. Hunting around for best remote, my comments to WOR iog:
Not so good - Traverse City MI gets storm crashes now at 0315 as would
any in a wide area within hundreds of miles of the storm front from TX
to IN centered over MO. CODAR also audible. I haven`t found a better
one tonight. Wash DC area with less storm noise, no CODAR, but some
other continuous whinepulsing. Brunt of signal is heading right into
the storm area. Not making it at all to UTwente. Chris Smolinski
provides seven Kiwis at Westminster MD. I`m trying 8074 which is
pretty good but still with the DC-area whinepulse in the background.
What is causing that??
It`s tempting to listen to `Encore` classical music on 5950 WRMI,
stronger signal and higher frequency amounting to less storm noise,
S9+10/35 into Missouri, starting with Poulenc, Les Biches. Back on
4790, Act I of BOS is over about 0435 and UB says Act II plays next
week. To fill out the bihour tonight, some PDQ Bach starting with the
1712 Overture. But competition now from another BCQ, 6160, q.v. (Glenn

unlike rest of virtual-only proceedings, on 6955 March 6 at 2100-2115
including a full recording:

Pretty raunchy, including having Google speak translations into
Russian of various insults against Putin. About 0449 filled with Jean
Shepherd (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9955, March 7 at 1540, clips of R. Ukraine International,
about culture, music, said by Jeff to be from their final English
webcast before suspension, then about famous Ukrainians. 1543 about
Russian service of RUI, i.e. AWR Wavescan; and on to item about the
finale of Brazuguese DX program Encontro DX, canceled on R?dio
Aparecida. Dozens more opportunities to hear WS this week on WRMI
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 15770 - this just in to the WOR iog via Martyn Williams:
https://twitter.com/W7VOA/status/1500891270100799501
A crowdfunding campaign has resulted in VOA`s `Flashpoint Ukraine` via
WRMI, since VOA itself refuses to air it on SW, starting March 7 at
2105-2130 M-F after the news -- grid shows this will be at the expense
of Radio Prague! 15770 is aimed NE toward Europe, but remains to be
heard how far it may penetrate after dark.
I`ve hinted in the past to Jeff White that he should put at least some
NPR news on WRMI as a public service, offsetting crap like TOMBS,
SMTV, etc., etc. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5830, March 7 at 0702, S9+20/30 of dead air from WTWW-1,
while Ted`s Toy, 5085 WTWW-2 continues modublaring, prompting for rock
requests, and ``pinning the needle`` at S9+60 on my R75, hardly ever
happening with a non-local signal. Think of all the hot meals for
needy Lebanese which could have been purchased for the cost of all
that 5830 wasted juice. Unusually, Ivo Ivanov says 5830 was still on
the air and modulating Scriptures for America at 1058. Something`s
always loony at Lebanon (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6920-, AM, March 7 at 0211, Slavic? song at S8-S9,
noisy, 0216 English ID as ``--- Radio``, dramatic exchange, still past
0230, touch copy. Slightly off-frequency minus, smax of Radio Pushka
(Rifle). NO HFU reports of it now, but earlier in daytime March 6.
Still such a 6920-, AM signal at 0659, music at S5-S7 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 6925 LSB, 0153 UT Monday March 7, unusual pirate not on
USB: a ham accustomed to LSB on 40 meters? S9/+10 of a country song,
0157 YL sings about Dublin-Town. 0200 announcement unreadable at much
lower modulation level, same or different station? Another song. More
YL talk and JBM VP music past 0210. Many more unID logs here
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,94016.0.html
6925-LSB also reported earlier in the March 6 daytime, same?
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,93985.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
