** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Aug 12 at 1753, LRA36 is on with
music pr?lude, S7/S9 into Argentine SDR; tnx to reminder from Manuel
M?ndez who was already getting it direct to NW Spain at 1747. I mostly
miss the first bihour of KUCO`s opera this week, from WFMT, Bellini`s
`La Sonnambula`. 1757 CW ID. 1758 vocal s/on with multilingual IDs.
1759 temps in July were -30, down to -41.4, winds 10? meters per
second. Conversion factor to mph is X 2.237 = 22 mph. 1803 live intro
of `Uniendo Voces`, staff, Juan Benavente speaking. 1811 will be
carrying `Zona de Fuego` program sometime. Now? -19 degrees. Thursday
was first `Estudio 9` show from Univ. de Quilmes. 1816 kid? or woman
voice with history mentioning 1930y. 1826 new housing built at Petrel
base. 1827 accuses British of destroying Uruguayan/Argentine
scientific, not military base in South Sandwich during Malvinas war.
1832 song. 1838 contact info. 1842 about space exploration, launch
from New Mexico. 1845 there have also been rocket launches for AntArg
bases. 1853 story of an engaged, then married couple at an Anta base.
Still going past 1900+ when it`s time to wrap up and dispatch this
report (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** BRAZIL. 9665.289, Aug 12 at 0646, RVM is back on, familiar choral
hymn in English, sung by kids, S5/S7. Its other frequencies are much
weaker as always: 5940.21 at 0638 JBA carrier vs HSNL; 11750.009, at
0651, S3/S4, amazingly close to nominal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** COLOMBIA. 10125 CW, Aug 12 at 0649, HK3QQ is unusually missing, no
keyboard letters in sequence with errors. Despite my frequent logs of
this, it seems no one else is reporting it, except Paul Kemp, May 21
in an FB group; but same was heard on 7092 in 2021y, per HF
Underground, not realizing the `random` letters were really keyborder
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** COLOMBIZUELA. 4940, Aug 12 at 0630, Colombia para Cristo relay
station is missing again tonight, and always? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 5025, Aug 12 at 0631, R. Rebelde is not off the air, S9+20/30
but undermodulated. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6200.00 AM, Aug 12 at 0640, JBA carrier, presumed,
R. Eastern Star pirate. Only other 6200 in Aoki is Tibet for long
hours including daytime like now (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. RF 34, August 12 at 0334 UT, area tropo is up with storms
in central OK, not here, boosting this signal into decodability,
KWRW-LD, which is 15 kW ERP from SE OKC, about a block east of I-35,
and between SE 21 & 22 Sts., direxional NW which must help, vs several
other BAD signals. Led by Heartland on 33-1 plus six others matching
rabbitears.info info. Bug is a red heart in LR corner, enclosing an
outline of a cowboy hat (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** TURKEY. 13635, Aug 12 at 0658, Turkish music, S9/+10. One of best
22m signals every night, VOT Turkish language service. At 0700 no
timesignal, into presumed news with stingers. Sked all the way from
0600 to 1255 per Aoki. HFCC agrees it`s the only 13635 anywhen, 500
kW, 310 degrees for western Europe, and we lie directly beyond (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2203 monitoring: note that we have
a new time back on WRMI 9955, Sunday 1130 UT. If anyone be already
awake then, please check to confirm and how much jamming. Also there
are two web- and phone-casts-only on the sked to be checked: Saturday
1930 and Sunday 2000.
Confirmed first SWBC, UT Saturday August 12 at 0137 the 0130 on WRMI
5850 - only, and not 7730 contrary to skedgrid, S9+10/20 direct vs
storm noise.

webcasts from WRMI and WRN N American service, besides satellite.

Thanks this week to Kenneth Brookner for a generous contribution via
PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com, ``Thanks for all of the WOR since
1975. It`s really nice to see you still at it and I`m enjoying working
my way back through the podcasts.``
One may also contribute via MO or check on a US bank in US funds to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 5130.179, Aug 12 at 0632, obviously the WBCQ experimental
transmitter is back on air. Was last heard on July 26 despite nightly
chex. Novelty music sounds familiar; 0635 it`s Sir Scratchy! So they
are playing `Behavior Night`; good since I missed its normal airing
Friday at 2100 on 7490v. Bad since too much OK storm noise, S9+10.
Sounds like could be more than a few hundred watts now. Will this be
running 24/7 again? Plans to morph Radio Angela into ``R. Trump
International``, yechhh. BTW, `AAAWWW` this week was rerun of last
week (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9395, Aug 12 at 0648, TOMBS on WRMI but again with lite RTTY
warble on plus side, whence? Couldn`t happen to a christer guy (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VANUATU. 7260, Aug 12 at 0642, island music at S9/+10 as R. Vanuatu
continues to amaze with only 10 kW; like this every night when not
relogged (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

LRA 36 has been putting a good signal into southern England this evening as
well, although it suddenly went off the air at 19.53.
