CHINA: CNR 9440 from 1245-1257 s/off in Khmer, never strong reception,

** BRAZIL. 4885, Jan 14 at 0450, R. Clube do Par? almost back to
normal? S9+10/20 in Portuguese talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Jan 14 at 0451, R. Progreso is back on, unlike offness
last night - but modulation is breaking up, crackling while S9+20/30
carrier is steady. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, Sunday Jan 14 at 1622, RHC weekly Esperanto S9+20,
good mod, something about a meeting in Brazilo; no signal on 15140,
nor any RHC found anywhere else on any band. Something`s always wrong
at RHC.

Hey! They have finally updated their frequency sked for current season
B23:
https://www.radiohc.cu/de-interes/frecuencias
but this page is about Spanish only. How about English? To get to
other langs one must click on the globe icon at upper right of
homepage:
https://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/frecuencias
shows ONLY THESE: S Fsco 6100 05-07 - imaginary, I NEVER hear it;
Chicago 15140 20-21 - usually off, sporadic? and Washington 6000 01-07
- of course irregular and usually poorly modulated if at all.

The Programming Schedule link in dropdown under Interesting, even from
the English subsite leads not to any specific program names/times, but
to a complete transmission sked presented in Spanish, of all languages
which is obviously extremely outdated with loads of dead frequencies,
but not dated:
https://www.radiohc.cu/en/de-interes/programacion

How about Esperanto? Lots of interesting illustrated stories with
text:
https://www.radiohc.cu/eo
while its Frekvencoj page is for B23, showing ONLY these two, Solo
Domingo:
S Fsco 6100 0800-0830 = NOT heard; N/C/SAm 11760 1600-1630.

Why are only Commies bothering to SW broadcast Esperantoly? Not even
gospel huxters, who employ the most minority langs, only Cuba and
China, see:
https://www.addx.de/cgi-bin/hfp.cgi
but with wrong imaginary time for Havanna, 0700 as in A-seasons.

One might explore the other languages, linking only to French,
Portuguese, Arabic -- forget about Guarani, Quechua, long gone. But
does Creole still exist? Haitian, that is, tho targeted on Rio de
Janeiro, Chicago. Manythings always wrong at RHC! (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2225 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday January 14 at 0100 on WRMI 9955: I happen to have UTwente

there, a trace of WOR under. I also have Argentine SDR ready after
noshow of LRA36: WOR is fluttery S9/+15 and noisy but no jamming
audible down there.

Also confirmed UT Sunday January 14 at 0416 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, VG
S9+23 into nearby SDR, about 6 minutes into so started a bit early c.

Also confirmed Sunday January 14 at 1130 on WRMI 9955, S9+20 when I
happen to awaken. Next:

** U S A. 1359.71, Jan 14 at 0259 UT, definite het upon 1360.00
stations dominated by sports coverage, no audio into E/W longwire.
Later lookup at mwoffsets finds this top entry!:
1360 1359,714 WCGL (Jacksonville, FL) 2022-12-06
It`s U1 5000/89 watts -- you think?
1359.71 carrier/het also detected on other rx at 0448.

Further research far back into my archives:
1360 1359.71 -290 Hz Cypress Gardens FL (WHNR)
(Medium Wave News 51/02 May/June 2005 via DXLD)

which probably derived from this 2004y log:

U S A. 1359.71, FLORIDA, WHNR, Winter Haven - 0914+ 31 October, US
soul and blues oldies, black female "I'm Debra McDowell and thank you
for listening... on your blues and oldies station..." Same off-
frequency observation here as Crawford logs. Fair signal at best
(Terry L Krueger, Clearwater, Florida, USA, 27.55.83 N, 82.46.08 W, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

WHNR still exists, U4 5000/2500 but nothing about it being so far
off-frequency in past bidecade; except now appears barely on wrong
side of .000 in mwoffsets:
1360 1360,0009 WHNR (Cypress Gardens, FL) 2022-02-18 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier check, Jan 14 at 0305, not
total 9/kHz scan but finds these when sought on the `545: 693, 711,
891 kHz.

Temp is down to 4F and falling. A bit later, Jan 14 at 0444, a full
9/kHz scan on the R75: 909, 1044, 1053-strongest, 1089 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

MYANMAR 1000 Hertz test tone before daily MR start
heard continously on
5914.979 kHz
when tuned-in at 23.09 UT, heard still to
23.25:10 UTC test tone stop,
then at
23.30:03 UT program start of MR, after short mx piece heard,
followed by long pray of Buddist monks, all these heard on

MW 576 kHz Yangon site, and much stronger of 594 kHz
from Nay Phi Taw transmitter site
and also 5985even kHz from Yangon SW site.

But Nay Phi Taw 5914.979 kHz played separate program of music.

Myanmar is an indirect DX catch for me most of the time unless I can get it
at 1200 UTC here in the east. However, I like to sometimes go to Dimapur or
Siliguri SDRs and see if it is in there on 5985 and seems like it was a day
or two ago heard it on there on 5985 in English starting at
1530.......around 1528 it usually has some gongs playing and then Burmese
language and into the news about the State Council and other generally
boring stuff. At 1557 depending on the SDR used it very well might get
swamped out by China Radio International which broadcasts at 500 kw in
Swahili to Africa at that time.

So, today, January 13, I noted it back on 5915v at 0120 via the excellent
LA6LU Kiwi SDR in Thailand! Later, heard 5915 sign
off at 0530 UTC (12:00 noon Myanmar time). Then I noted it on again just
prior to 0700 (don?t know when it actually signed on),
reverting to 5919 kHz! Which I guess we can assume will remain for the
rest of the evening. All a bit weird!
