with many personnel already fired. See:

As Bill Tilford pointed out to me, Esperanza has been removed from the
drop-down list of streaming Radio Nacional Emisoras, not boding well,
at https://www.radionacional.com.ar/

The external service RAE would seem to be equally threatened, as it is
part of Radio Nacional, but its webpage is still up,
https://www.radionacional.com.ar/rae/
including an undated 27-minute interview with a RAE Italian guy who
visited Esperanza:

On Jan 19, I asked Manuel Méndez, Spain: ``We are concerned that LRA36
may have been deleted. Can you find out anything from your contacts?
Glenn`` - His reply with my translation interspersed:

``Hola, Glenn, LRA 36 en la pasada campaña, la de 2023, tuvo un gran
impulso gracias a Juan Benavente, un gran conocer de la radio,
radioaficionado y al que le gusta mucho el trabajo que hizo.

Hello, Glenn, LRA 36 in the latest campaign, of 2023, got a great
boost thanks to Juan Benavente, who really knows radio, is a ham, and
really enjoyed the work he did.

I wrote to Radio Nacional to tell them how convenient it would be for
Juan to continue in charge of the station during this new year, or at
least advise the new personnel who turn over every year, with the
objective of following guidelines similar to those of 2023; in
addition, I know that Juan Benavente would continue to be very
satisfied doing that job.

Personnel at the base and of Radio Nacional thanked me for my email
and as far as I know did everything possible for Juan to continue, but
ultimately, nothing of this was taken into account, and Juan Benavente
has already returned to Argentina; so that means that as far as I
know, LRA 36 will return to previous years, that is, we shall surely
have to wait weeks for the new personnel to get organized, trained how
to operate the station, and then be able to go on the air.

Manuel

But I don`t know at all whether LRA 36 has ceased transmissions, nor
do I know where to find out that information. From what they told me,
they will return with the summer session when possible, but not at
all, of course, like it was in 2023. Cordial greetings. We must be
alert especially on Saturdays. Manuel`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Better than:

6125, Jan 20 at 0441, VOT English service only S9+20/30, Turkish music
distorted, ``always-by-your-side`` promo and `That`s Why` segment
again.

5960.002, Jan 20 at 2306, VOT English not off the air, VG S9+40/45
into UTwente.

After news, at 2310, `The Energy Agenda` about efficiency. More music
than usual followed. 2337 recheck, `Turkey`s Geomarked [sic] Products`
repeat about the 5-year-bread. 2351, multi-lingual ID filler reel.
2354 s/off as if this were the 1330 on 13635 only. Seems to be the
only version used lately, correct if woefully incomplete, and into IS
in less than a minute before 2355 be reached. 2356 pause and restart
IS with German IDs interspersed. Off about 15 seconds before 2400
avoiding any further German, uncovering you-know-what:

In fairness, if I am going to denounce imperialist ChiCom genocide
against Uyghurs and other Moslems, concerning the East Turkistanish
QRM on 5960, I should also denounce the Turkish genocide of Armenians
a century ago, still denied by Turkey; as in:

which I just watched today via OETA; not that this genocide were news
to me (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2226 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday January 20 at 0139 the 0130 on WRMI 5850, S9+15/25 into
Missouri SDR.

Confirmed Saturday January 20 at 1551 the new 1530 on Shortwave Radio,
Germany, just as I am talking about SWR adding WOR, S9+10/15 into
UTwente and only 1 or 2 Hz from 6160.000, also VG modulation, sounds
like more than 1 kW. Page 549 of WRTH 2024 shows address as c/o WWDX
Club, PO Box 1214, D-61282 Bad Homburg, but site is Winsen an der
Aller, 2 x 1 kW. E-mail: stu...@shortwaveradio.de That`s in Lower
Saxony, just NE of Hanover; in north-central Germany between Amsterdam
and Berlin. Who are the L.P.?

WOR was on time, ending at 1559, jingle ID as ``Shortwave Radio`` not
appending ``Gold`` as sometimes reported, ``due to Chinese invasion,
retune now to 3975; 6160 resumes tomorrow at 0900``. 6160 already had
splash from 6165 CRI, also S9+10/15. Per EiBi, CRI on 6165 at
1500-1700 is from Urumqi, EAST TURKISTAN, at 1600 going from Pashto to
Turkish; CNR6 from Beijing to Taiwan also on 6165 at 2155-1605. See
GERMANY for more on 3975.

WOR 2226 also confirmed Sat Jan 20 from 1832 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975, S9+5/10 into UTwente; after ADDX contact info in German.

Also confirmed Saturday January 20 at 2046 UT on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO,
S9+23 groundwave into nearby SDR, about 4 minutes into, so started
about 2042, the 2030v; also on WRMI webcast only, and WRN N American

** VANUATU. 7260, Jan 20 at 0754, S6/S8 pop song, must be R. Vanuatu.
What is the full frequency sked of this now? It keeps changing.

Current EiBi shows only 1845-1959 on 3945, 1959-2259 & 2300-1105 on
7260. The break at 2259-2300 evidently formerly involved a QSY.

On the contrary, current Aoki shows: 1900-2000 3945, 2000-2400 5040,
2100-0100 5055, 0000-0559 7260, 0600-1000 3945 -- obviously
self-contradictory and outdated, like still showing defunct stations
such as WWRB on 5050.

In HFCC dated 17 Jan, very first entry is PVL 10 kW, VUT via RNZ FMO:
2485 10-19; 3945 07-10 & 19-24; 5040 20-23; 7260 01-07; 9960 01-07 --
some overlap to cover contingency adjustments but still not accounting
for 7260 after 07 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Jan 20 at 0418:
684, 711, 774, 1044-strongest, 1053, 1089, 1125; then tune down on
other antenna catching a few more: 1107-2, 909, 891, 837 (Glenn
