** CLIPPERTON ISLAND [and non]. 24955 USB, Jan 24 at 2317, TX5S, ham
DXpedition making quick pro-forma contacts, nothing but other station
call, 5/9 and 73: seldom giving own call! I heard it once, and then
again thrice at 2324. Said ``listening 5/10 up`` but he kept getting
calls on same frequency from clueless WX6G, and another one. Mainly
working USA and Japan. There was also someone on 24957 USB at times.
Details on this DXP lasting till end of Jan: https://clip.pdxg.net/

``The Perseverance DX Group (PDXG) is organizing a team of experienced
DXpedition and contest operators to activate Clipperton Island (IOTA
NA-011), currently Clublog #38 most wanted (#26 EU). The team will be
QRV on 160-6 meters, SSB, CW, RTTY, FT8, 6m EME, and Satellites. We
plan to leave San Diego, California on Jan 11, 2024 and arrive
Clipperton Jan 17, 2024. Current schedule is to be on the island for
14 days. The call sign TX5S was issued for this project...``

Before finding TX5S on 24955, I tried other planned frequencies: at
2307, 18130 USB had a domestic IL/FL QSO; 7095 & 21285 with no
activity; 14195 with TI5VMJ contacting USA; 28485 no activity but a
VA7 on 28486, all USB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, Jan 24 at 0412, JBA carrier, presumably
anti-Christ pirate Station YHWH; Rick Barton, AZ, notifies earlier
when it`s on but usually I check too late, so still on now? Yes, until
0421:20* says Walt Salmaniw, BC. Is anything else ever on 7475? Yes,
per EiBi but nothing in our nights after ChiCom jamming until 2400.
HFCC shows nothing between 1900 and 1730, likewise Aoki and not even
YHWH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17754.991, Jan 24 at 1736, REE to Africa off-frequency as
measured at UTwente; checked after it sounded slightly minus direct at
1620 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Jan 24 at 2310, token English VG from SNR with
AcAw nomination news; 2312 feature interview with someone from the NGO
`Goals [Gols?] for Freedom` which uses the language of fútbol somewhy,
so a stupid ballgame can accomplish something positive? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. ``Re: Turkey January 23 5960. I’m not surprised Glenn it
was a no show for the English to North America from 2300 as it was
absent on 9610 English 2130-2230. Continuing problems at Emirler!
Craig Tyson, Perth, Western Australia``.

5960.003, Jan 24 at 2301, S9+10 but JBA music direct, unlike VOT which
would be at sign-on into news; and too early for XJRTV to be on. A JBA
carrier on 9610, doubtful VOT either. Not rechecked until 2350 when
measured at UTwente, S9+25/35 obviously VOT now with Turkishish song,
but kept playing that, no announcements, s/off or IS until chopoff at
2357* uncovering the fellow genocidal station. Evidently the `English`
hour ran fill music instead. Something`s awry at Ankara, erroneous at
Emirler (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Jan 24 at
0351-0358: 684, 738-2 with slow SAH beat, 774, 837, 855-2, 882, 909,
999, 1017, 1026, 1044 & 1053 strongest, 1089 stronger than 1098-2,
1107-3, 1125, 1224, 1422. This on internal N/S shortwire. Standard
assumptions, mostly Spain and UK (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 88.1 FM, Jan 24 at 2134 UT, praise song in Spanish,
$tereo; could be Es, MUF barely into FM band: DXMAPs had shown Es
caught eastward from Nevada if not exactly here, so I`m
half-bandscanning on caradio. But 2136 segué praise song in English,
and signal is rather too steady for Es. Could KMSI Moore OK Oasis
Network mix Spanish & English? It`s a normal fringe-area signal here
vying with KWOU Woodward. WTFDA DB unshows any Spanish/Religious on
88.1 west of NM. Retune by 2139 the 88.1 now has OK underwriting
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
