``BREAKING NEWS [TODAY JANUARY 31] TEST BROADCAST OF LRA 36 NATIONAL
RADIO ARCHANGEL SAN GABRIEL. Technicians Alejandro Petrecca and
Claudio García, with the collaboration of personnel in Base Antártica
Conjunta Esperanza, under the orders and supervision of Base Chief
Lieutenant Colonel Juan Pablo Escobedo, are progressing in the repair
of the Collins HF80 shortwave transmitter and announce the execution
of test broadcasts.

The test broadcasts will take place today, Wednesday, January 31,
between 20:00 and 22:00 UTC on 15476 USB. Adjustment signals,
identifications, and music will be transmitted with brief
interruptions.

We deeply appreciate the immediate dissemination of this information
in groups and channels of Radio Listeners, DXers, and Ham Radio

Manuel Méndez had first posted another version at 1919. Tnx to both!

So I bring up 15476 USB on an Argentine SDR at 1954 and hear a bit of
music test before silence, but resuming promptly at 2000 with ID and
songs, S9+10 sufficient, as good a signal as before. At 2035 check I
could not hear it direct, but several North Americans were getting it
poorly. Spot chex later found only music except at 2151 the RAE
multilingual ID reel.

Unknown when RNASG may resume regular Saturday? broadcasts, with this
old but repaired transmitter before the new 10 kW be installed (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Jan 31 at 0741, R. Rebelde frequency on air but with
congratulations on 25th anniversary of Habana Radio, so still relaying
that FM station, as others also note. Wonder for how much longer and
if this affect R.R. MW frequencies? Among countless ones, I am not
getting any clear reception to compare, 670, 710, 1620 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Jan 31 at 1540, RHC music S9+25, overmodulated and
distorted, splattering plus/minus 10 kHz or so. // 15230 much weaker
but clearer S6/S7. At 1544 I check // 11760 which is similarly
splattering, but not the spurblobs every 4.3 kHz as yesterday.
Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA [and non]. 17790, Jan 31 at 1537, about equal level mixture
of WRMI in English and RRI in Romanian: a failure of HF coordination
with a one-hour overlap, despite loads of vacant frequencies on the 16
mb. Perhaps radically different target areas did not energize any red
flags: RRI Galbeni, 285 degrees for France, and WRMI 160 degrees for C
& S America hoping it will also reach original target Africa, as
before eastward antenna was hurricaned (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Jan 31 at 2300, token English from SNR after accurate
timesignal, first biminute previewing later topic: interview about the
Royal Collexions Gallery; 2302 news mainly about an amnesty vote
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.002, Jan 31 at 2311, VOT not off the air, S9+10 direct
but needs more vs noise level. 2336 into UTwente when measured,
S9+30/40 with `The Middle East and Turkey` about relations with
Kuwait; 2342 music; 2346 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, 2347 `Sports
Panorama` with the badax; buts off at 2351* I think early before any
s/off could be uttered but I was not listening closely; uncovering of
course the XJRTV understation in Chinese from another land of
genocide, ChiCom-controled East Turkistan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 365 MCW kHz, Jan 31 at 0748, AA, 100-watt ND beacon at Fargo
/ Harwood ND. A few other regulars/occasionals JBA vs local noise
level which is slightly less above 350 or so (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 35790, Jan 31 at 2312, JBA carrier presumed from R. Martí,
Grimesland. Still hoping for enough mod to // it to fundamental bigsig
11930. On the R75 there are some stronger carriers in the 35s,
probably birdies (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2227 monitoring: ``From: Richard

German on SW Radio, Germany, 3975, S7/S9 but JBA into UTwente.
