(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, Oct 26 at 2218, S9+10 of open carrier and trace of
modulation, RHC finally making a comeback to usual uselessness
following hurricanes and apagones nacionales (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUIANA FRENCH. 28445 USB, Oct 26 at 2213, FY5FY, quick contest
contacts including N7RVD. QRZ.com: ``FY5FY French Guiana flag French

only up to 28.7 MHz or so, the top MHz mostly vacant (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MALI. 13630, Oct 26 at 2220, S9+10/20 of Chinese language lessons
in French, as CRI Bamako scheduled 2130-2230 to East Africa. ?? No FF
ex-colonies there unless stretched to Rwanda/Burundi, Djibouti - hmm,
the latter important to the ChiCom with a base there (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, Sat Oct 26 at 0657, Station YHWH on very late
again, Josiah JBA S8. Also noted independently by Ron Howard at 0637
until 0737*; as well as Walt Salmaniw, Eric Fetters-Walp (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 11529.9, Oct 26 at 2221, JBA signal presumed Hikari
FM on signature offset, allegedly in Mexico; altho I see Rick Barton,
AZ, classifies it as USA. If really just across the border in Sonora,
Rick should be in 11 MHz skip zone, not getting him so well -- or,
close enough for groundwave? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PUERTO RICO. 391 MCW kHz, Oct 26 at 0630, ND beacon DDP, San
Juan/Dorado, 1 kW, often inaudible, but now with better signal than a
bunch of USA ones, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.008-, Oct 26 at 2203, VOT not off the air, olds in
English, S9+10/20 direct. Into UTwente when measured at 2232, S9+45/50
with music, nothing but music until 2254 s/off as if 17620, 2255 IS to
2255.6*. From tomorrow for B24 should change to 5960 at 2300. Did they
warn listeners about this abrupt total change? Of course not! No doubt
the s/on/off of the 5960 will assert it`s at 1330 on 13635 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. LW/MW ND beacon bandscan, still a struggle vs local noise

** VANUATU. 9960, Oct 26 at 0654, R. Vanuatu gone again; nor 7260. Ron
Howard also reports it absent today (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 810.46 approx., Oct 26 at 0647 UT, carrier/het upon 810.
Nothing so far at mwoffsetts; anyone hearing this? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 25570-25580, Oct 26 at 2214, weak DRM noise vs CODAR
pulses at 2/second. I don`t have DRM capability, but earlier today
this was reported as KTWR GUAM. Earlier I could not get anything on
Pacific-area SDRs where KTWR should have been propagating. Discussion
about this on the WOR iogroup with Chris Mackerell, NZ:

``That isn`t even in the 11m SWBC band, starting at 25600 - Glenn``

``If the "Test 2" tab is being pressed this is a DRM self-test sample
built in to the KiwiSDRs, so not a real signal at all. Cheers,
Chris``

``The "KTWR" will almost certainly be reckless clicking of buttons in
the KiwiSDR. The Kiwis have two short DRM recordings built-in so users
can experiment with settings. "Test 1" plays a recording of BBC with
Journaline, "Test 2" plays a recording of KTWR with slideshow. These
will play regardless of what frequency the Kiwi is tuned to. I expect
someone saw this DRM-like signal (nothing visible here in NZ around
22:45 UTC), and was clicking buttons to see what happens and magically
"decoded" KTWR 🙂 --- Based on your hearing it along with CODAR I'd
suspect a DRM-like utility broadcast of some type rather than a
broadcast standard DRM signal. Cheers, Chris``

``OK - I can see digital hash on 25575 kHz via the KPH HF Kiwi.
http://198.40.45.23:8073/ --- If it is DRM it is wider than standard
broadcast DRM its 18 or 20 kHz wide so would be undecodable with the
Kiwi anyway. Cheers, Chris`` at 2255 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
