RUSSIA {communist USSR jamming era history}
Radio Center No. 7 with a Soviet-era "jammer" continues to be demolished
near Irkutsk.
The Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Russian Television and Radio Broad-
casting Network" (RTRS) has announced another tender for the demolition of
equipment from Radio Center No. 7 in the city of Angarsk in the Irkutsk
Region. In Soviet times, it was used to jam Western radio stations in the
country. A Telesputnik correspondent found the relevant data in the
government procurement database.
Information about the next tender in electronic form appeared in the data-
base on November 14. The deadline for submitting applications is December
2. The initial (maximum) contract price was 117.1 million rubles.
According to the technical part of the accompanying documentation, two
technical buildings, an engineering building, buildings for administrative
and management personnel, a club-canteen, a carpentry workshop, three non-
residential buildings, an antenna pavilion building, a communication and
signaling cable, an artesian well with an ECV-6-10-80 (DES) pump will now
be demolished.
In addition, the contractor will dismantle the checkpoint and guardhouse,
the territory fence, the switchgear building, an on-site improved dirt
road, several sections of the adjacent road, three cable lines, a complete
transformer substation and a sawmill.

** CUBA [non]. 5025, Nov 24 at 0322, R. Rebelde is gone again, no
signal (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 7330-7335-7340, Nov 24 at 0330, unusually wideband pulse
jamming against nothing by the incompetent DentroCuban Jamming
Command, since R. Mart? is on 7355, and 7435 where no jamming is
audible (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 9790, Nov 24 at 0335, S9+20/30 just barely modulated, must be
the CRI relay which is supposed to be on 5910 in B24 as in HFCC and
Aoki, but in EiBi truly on 9790. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE. 6150, Nov 24 at 0327, song and cheers, S9+20/30; thought it
might be Brazilian pirate R. Saturno, but at 03-05 it`s NHK World R.
Japan relay toward ME, as well as 6105 Japanese at 02-04 for Central
America - a worthy target unlike North America; are they // during the
overlap hour? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. Re my previous report of 660 XEFZ and FM 92.1 not 98.1, Tim

** U S A. 5085, Nov 24 at 0322, WTWW-2 back on air after absent last
night; along with spurs circa 5072 & 5097 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 4840, UT Sun Nov 24 at 0414, after `Ask WWCR`, promo for TWR
gethoperadio.com, 0415 horrible off-key hymnsing instead of 4-year
delayed DX olds by Bob Padula (GLenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VENEZOMBIA [non]. 4940, Nov 24 at 0321, 4940 station still missing,
no signal direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 383 & 385 kHz, at 0729 Nov 24, JBA MCW carriers: only
two USA listed on 383, LB in LiBeral KS, and CNP in Chappell NE; but
too many on 385, including AR, LA and TX. On Dec 5, 2021, I did log
CNP but no sign of LB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Nov 24 at 0259,
full bandscan at 9 kHz intervals -1 kHz in USB, E/W loop into R75,
hits only: 711 and 1044. 711 het to 710 still there at 0344. This fall
I am having much less success than previous years, due to: increased
constant local noise level; degraded MW prop at solar max; fewer
signals on air at full power, notably Spain. 711 I hope is 300 kW
WESTERN SAHARA as occupied by Morocco, but could be Cuban spoiler. At
1650 I try Canary remotes on 711: one gets nothing, the other a
carrier but nothing audible, 9 Hz below 711 and no WWV to check
calibration. 1044 likely SPAIN, where there are 2 x 10 kW, tho I would
settle for 200 kW from ETHIOPIA, starting at 0245 per mwlist. Wish I
could check for TPs around local sunrise, but gotta sleep sometime
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 4535, Nov 24 at 0320, rapid CW ID as CODAR pulsing
pauses, as I happen to be tuned here in bandscan; a reminder that this
happens at :00, :20 and :40 when one should be prepared to copy or
record (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
