starts here at 0800 after 5995 has almost faded out. Unfortunately I

** CANADA. 2598 USB, Dec 11 at 0724 UT, S7 YL voice in French, no
doubt marine weather. CCG website does NOT account for this, nothing
until *0737 from VCP Placentia via St. Lawrence, NL. Likewise
dxinfocentre.com but which shows that as VCP-4 with 3000 watts, no
lang specified so presumed EE only, and just Placentia, not St.
Lawrence. EiBi also has extensive 2598 listings for VCP, VCF, VOJ and
VOK, but nothing at this hour. In case there be non-DST one-hour time
confusion, at 0824 there would be VOJ, Port aux Basques NL in EE and
FF via Stephenville site (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CHILE [and non]. 28414 USB, Dec 11 at 2305, CE7VP in ``Chilo?,
Patagonia``, first noted as ACI to another ham, US? on 28415 USB.
CE7VP logged at same time a biday ago on 28412, q.v. This time hardly
any beacons to be heard except on 28197 CW, VE7MTY/B, which really
gets out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** EAST TURKISTAN. Re my JBA carriers on 5060 & 4980, Dec 10 at 2316,
but not on 4850 & 4500 from the 4 different language services of PBS
Xinjiang, FWIW EiBi shows the top two from *2310, the bottom two from
*2315. Gaisma.com shows Urumqi sunrise currently 0135 UT = 9:35 am
local time! Since the ChiCom impose Beijing clock allover =
double-DST. Latest LSR to be 0143 UT circa Epiphany. BTW, another name
for this is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uyghuristan (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** MALI. Re 9635, my log at 0808 Dec 10: ``re RTVM Mali, 9635 kHz
seemingly back on air service daytime too, noted via Kiwi SDR unit
remotedly on Canary Islands
http://ea8bfk.ddns.net:8073
heard long interval signal 1259?1301 UT S=9+5dB, -67dBm signal
strength, then Sahel Arabic language ID, and at 1303 news in French
language, followed by speech in French language to crowd .... vy73 de
wolfie df5sx wwdxc germany``
But Zacharias Liangas replies: ``NO signal on this kSDR on {sic}
1311`` Mauno Ritola at 1322: ``What? Try again:``
http://ea8bfk.ddns.net:8073/?f=9635.00amz10
Which I do at 1705: strong signal, not French or Arabic, presumably
Bambara. Do they really ID as RTVM? WRTH 2024 still calls it ORTM
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1020 kHz, Dec 11 at 0741 UT, dead air, no doubt
my nearby KOKP Perry OK, atop something in English presumably KDKA
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 1670, Dec 11 at 2100 UT, I`m near Ground Zero for Virtual
DJ Radio, in Enid, and confirm it`s still going ``strong``, but
effective range into caradio is much less than one mile. Website has
no internal search funxion, but external search of site for Enid leads
to https://virtualdjradio.com/users/jeffpino/ one hit, has been member
since 2013-03-22. Searching that name and Enid finds one who is a Rev.
and with LGBTQ Coalition, PFLAG, officiated at funerals, has made some
YT posts, ``Jeff Pino @jeffpino6001 ?41 subscribers? 24 videos A view
into my world from former Radio Broadcast DJ to being a Licensed
Pastor in the State of Oklahoma`` I may try to contact him (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. 95.1, KOKJ-LP, Enid is finally on the air. We had FCC
info about a CP several weeks ago. I`ve often checked 95.1 on home
radios with telescopic, and on caradio, with nothing but the fringers
in Wichita and Shawnee vying to dominate. However, as I drive toward
downtown, Dec 11 at 2053 UT am hearing Xmasmx, gradually capturing the
frequency, has ST icon pilot, but music sounds mono. No ToH ID but at
2104 promo for Downtown Enid Leadership. Further listening altho not
continuous hears nothing but mix of rock and Xmasmx, some long pauses
between cuts, no effort to legal ID at ToH 2200 ot 2300. Previously
visited FCC address of record, 701 N Grand, to see a decrepit building
including a small one-element vertically mounted antenna on a pole.
WTFDA FMDB says 100 watts H&V, 29 meters HAAT. Back at home a couple
miles away I can somewhat hear it with careful antenna positioning,
and it`s vying with the real stations as close as Ground Zero for the
other secret station in Enid on 1670. 95.1 also subject to Vance
airplane scatter surges (Glenn Hauser,? Enid, WOR)
** RUSSIA. Re 9996, my log of RWM, Tony Pavick replies:
``RWM's 'schedule' is:
Minute Duration Signal
:00 :30? 07:55? Unmodulated carrier
:08 :38? 01:00? Transmitter off
:09 :39? 00:55? Morse code station identification: "RWM RWM RWM..."
:10 :40? 09:55? 1 Hz pulses. Minute pulse 500 ms, others 100 ms,
doubled with DUT1 code.
:20 :50? 09:55? 10 Hz pulses, 20 ms each. 40 ms on the second, 500 ms
on the minute.
If you want to hear the :09 and :39 ID:
http://www.popshopradio.ca/20241119_1239_UT_9996_khz_Russia_RWM.mp4
I flip to CW mode with a narrow bandwidth to dig it out although
grabbing a sideband works also. Logged them on 14996 as well, but
never 4996 (yet!) Tony Pavick, Hope BC Canada`` (Glenn Hauser, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, Wed Dec 11 at 2259, REE not off the air to NAm, VG
S9+30/40 direct; 12030 also on JBA, while 17715 & 17755 achieve JBA
carriers. 2300 opening English: feature topic to be about obstretic
mistreatment of women, especially bad in Spain according to WHO and
UN, at 2307 an exhibition about las ``Vulnerables``. 2302 news leads
with an agreement about fisheries around Spain in the Atlantic and
Mediterranean (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY [and non]. 5960, Dec 11 at 2259, no signal direct from VOT
English to us, but at 2303 algo JBA on 9610 with Doppler flutter, not
VOT? At 2322 into UTwente, 5960 with nothing but Chinese, but
9610.006- now is VOT, the 2130-2225 channel running overtime again,
S9+30/35, Efsun the axentuated talking about the jacuzzi, on
`Unexpected Twists of Fate` as outroed at 2326, music. 2330
``always-by-your-side`` promo. 2331 `The Middle East & Turkey`, about
Syria. 2338 music. But cuts off! at 2340* when op awakens. But2 does
not come up immediately on 5960 instead, remains Chinese for rest of
hour. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, Dec 11 at 0726 UT, normally dominant FBY, 50
watts in FairBurY, Nebraska, has some CCI difficultizing copy. RNA
Signals list shows only two others in US, which I may have heard
before, 25 watts each, TOR TORrington WY, and UI, qUIncy IL.
305 MCW kHz, Dec 11 at 0727 UT, not RO, Roswell NM, as usually heard,
but OI, which is the only other USA on 305 per DXinfocentre.com, i.e.
25 watts from sIOux City IA/Tommi. RNA list also shows only these two
in conterminoUSA, but OI is axually in South Sioux City, NEBRASKA,
``old records say `Jackson NE` but is closer to SSxC`` and RO, `Topan
Roswell` as 400 watts rather than 150 in DXic (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2272 monitoring: ``From: Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard?s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF, Antenna: random long wires in the trees.
Hello Glenn: WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2272, 9395 kHz, 0030, 0046,
0059, (55433-4), (55434), 0059, December 11 UTC 2024 [Wed] (Lemke,
Richard -AB)`` Confirmed UT Wednesday December 11 at 0040 the 0030 on
WRMI 9395, VG S9+40 direct. Forgot to check 3975 for simulcast.
Confirmed Wednesday December 11 at 2030 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.003? locked onto at UTwente but inaudible; also inaudible at one
Ireland SDR, but OK into EI6IZ, S8/S9.
Also confirmed Wednesday December 11 at 2203 the 2200 on WBCQ, 7490-,
S9+15/20 direct. Next:
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1730 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975.
As a noncommercial service, financial support welcome. Thanks to Jack
Amelar, Lowell MI, for a contribution via PayPal in US funds, but not
necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com
One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: ?
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9330, why has this WBCQ been off? Reply at 1539 Dec 11:
``Allan & Angela WBCQ -- Hi Glenn, Hope you are well. The Superstation
is off the air due to the failure of a heating system at the antenna.
This resulted in a freeze up of a water cooling system for the antenna
tuning unit. 500 KW needs lots of precision cooling. Under repair now,
should be back on the air in a day or so. Everything else running
well. Good clients and much new programming to come on line for 2025.
Thanks, Allan & Angela, WBCQ Radio``
Last minute check at 0054 Dec 12 direct, 9330 is back on weakish as
usual when aimed sidewise toward Brasil; while UTwente lox onto
9330.001 at S9+5/15 JBA talk underneath continuous clickery unlike OTH
radar (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. [WOR] Holiday specials on WUOT
https://www.wuot.org/holiday-specials-2024-on-wuot
These are specific programs rather than just Xmasmx overkill. Times
are EST = UT -5. Many public radio stations are providing substreams
of Xmasmx only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VANUATU [and non]. 9960, Dec 11 at 0716, JBA carrier, presumably R.
Vanuatu; same level JBA carrier this time on 9955 WRMI (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
