** BRAZIL. 28465 USB, Dec 23 at 2304, PP5BT, CQDX from Sta. Catarina,
quick contacts in English, Spanish, one with a KQ4. QRZ.com: ``PP5BT
Brazil flag Brazil, Rodrigo Gon?alves, Rua Alfonso Nicolao Bornhofen,
163, Blumenau, SC 89032452, Brazil (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [and non]. 870, Dec 23 at 0723 UT, wobbler with WWL; and same
sound at 0727 JBA under 1040 WHO. Yet to notice these on any other
channels (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 15230, Dec 23 at 1551, JBA carrier, again the only trace of
RHC these days, where somethings` always very2 wrong (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** CUBA. 13650, Dec 23 at 2308 check, no signal from the pointless CRI
``Portuguese`` music-only relay, but I bet it`s not gone for good.
Other CRI relays are still running if not RHC itself (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Dec 23 at 1921 UT, STILL dead air from 17-1,
K17JN-D, 3ABN, Enid`s only local TV signal, as first noted Dec 9 but
may well have been longer before I noticed. Do they have *any* viewers
who might care? Or anyone in charge? Also still displaying WRONG ID,
K17JI-D which is really in Fresno, California, as I first noticed over
a year ago on Nov 25, 2023! Ditto (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, Mon Dec 23 at 2300, token English from SNR, S9+10 but
too noisy direct; 12030 JBA carrier, 17715 even weaker JBA carrier,
17755 trace? 9690 also no good into UTwente; but at 2325, VG S8/9+10
into Maryland SDR, interview about National Museum of Decorative Arts
exhibition until Jan 13, 2326 music. SNR is really hooked on filling
its very limited English airtime with stuff about museum exhibitions,
which one can`t really appreciate with no video and no visit (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 9610.006-, Sun Dec 22 at 2145, VOT English, VG S9/+5 into
UTwente, emission aimed oppositely during `Weekly Analysis`. 2152
multi-lingual ID filler reel. 2154 music. 2204 finally start
`Letterbox` later in hour than usual, rotating to different OM host
who never names himself - as if I could have understood it anyway.
Quick acknowledgements and mostly ignores questions or points raised
by writers. 1) Ilpo --, Finland, boasting? 2) Siddartha Battacharji?,
a regular from India, wants swag, heard Dec 10. How many human rights
violations are there in Turkey? Wants to be official monitor. 3) Ricky
Hein, Rapid City SD, has trouble hearing 5960, 15111. 4) Mohammed
Akir? Bashir?, Pakistan. 5) separate from same? 6) another from same,
NY wishes. 7) Terry Ford, London, QSL? for 6050 on 15/12. 8) Alan Roe,
England asks for holiday program details to add to his calendar. 9)
Jayanta Chakraborty?, New Delhi, wants QSL and calendar [is there one
offered??] 10) Chris Melfort, BC, Canadian postal strike has ended.
2214 `L`box` outro without any irrelevant music padding; and
``always-by-your-side`` promo. I monitor no further, but am not tied
to this at 2334, when I do make a quick check of 5960 direct to find
it JBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 5960.003+, Dec 23 at 2301, VOT not off the air, S9/+10 but
too noisy direct. At 2323 into UTwente when measured, VG S9+35/45 with
music, 2328 Efsun the axentuated, something about sunlight, apparently
`That`s Why`. Music, some rhumble, 2353 s/off as if 1330 on 13635:
something`s always awry at Ankara. 2353 IS until chop 2354.4* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 293 MCW kHz, Dec 23 at 0702 UT, luckily, FBY in FairBurY NE
and UI in qUIncy IL are taking turns at about equal levels rather than
overlapping as their NDB periods are only a fraxion of a second
different (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 335 MCW kHz, Dec 23 at 0707 UT, BV, 25 watts `Almnd`,
Batesville AR, JBA aside 332 IC wIChita, as I am tuned to 333 USB
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2274 monitoring: Also confirmed
Sunday December 22 at 2000 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.999-, S9
into UTwente across Europe.
Also confirmed Sunday December 22 at 2118 the 2100 on WRN Europe
webcast.
Also confirmed Sunday December 22 at 2234 the 2230 on SW Radio,
Germany, 3975.002+, S7/S9 but noisy into UTwente.
Also confirmed Sunday December 22 at 2330 on WRMI 7780, JBA here off
the side, still on substitute frequency instead of 7570 which had been
reactivated but missing now (and 24h later at 2300 Dec 23, 7570 is
on)
Also confirmed UT Monday December 23 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9/+10 into
S Texas ``RGV`` remote.
Also confirmed UT Monday December 23 at 0400 on Area 51 via WBCQ 6160
-69 Hz = 6159.931, S4/S7 into Maryland SDR, after JL gotta go in
time.
Also confirmed Monday December 23 at 2035 the 2030 on SW Radio,
Germany, 3975.002+, S7/S9 but noisy into UTwente; also checked their
recommended Bedford UK remote, S9 and noisy. Next:
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW;
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?];
1500 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast; jammed?];
2100 UT Tuesday IRRS 1323-Italy;
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
0030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
2030 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;

** U S A. 9955-9995, Dec 23 at 2310, 9980 WWCR is spewing gunk way out
on both sides, worst 9965-9995, but detectable next to 9955 WRMI. Is
same #4 transmitter dedicated to TOMBs as on 5890 later as I have
already complained.
BUT, 9910-9950 spews similar sounds from WTWW-1 9930. Both of course
much stronger here than squeezed WRMI. It seems quite clear that the
problem is in the modulation of the program feed from Walterboro.
Stations need to find some way to filter all those squeals and
sidespurs out (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 9275, Dec 23 at 2315, WMLK is on, S9+10/20 direct, someone
trying to solo sing but not a recognizable hymn. Seems this frequency
is hit-or-miss, supposed to be on 6 days a week at 2300-0400 except UT
Sabbaths or starting Fridays 2300. Seems I have not noticed any signal
on some unSabbath evenings. Aoki imagines it`s 7 dpw. Still on at 0158
UT Tuesday Dec 24 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 900, Dec 23 at 0724 UT, almost a `graveyard` now, hear
Harrison mentioned in ad, so KHOZ Harrison AR, U1 1000/62 watts. Take
that, XEW! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 970, Dec 23 at 0726 UT, YL ID ``102.5 The Lake`` non ID =
per NRC AM Log, WMAY Springfield IL, U4 1000/500 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
** URUGUAY. 28476 USB, Dec 23 at 2306, CX2TQ, QRZ and quick contacts in
English. QRZ.com: ``CX2TQ Uruguay flag Uruguay, (Paul) JOSE PABLO AMENDOLA
CARRASCO, RINCON 39, ROCHA - CP: 27000, Uruguay`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
