** CANADA. 1650 kHz, March 19 at 0647 UT, South Asian music. NRC AM
Log shows of the 8 North Americans on 1650, it has to be CINA,
Mississauga [Toronto], Ontario, U1 5000/680 watts, ``Seena Radio``.
Maybe new for me. Normally hear IA/CO/TX stations, not so much OK,
``AR`` Fort Smith.
It should be noted that another Toronto X-bander, CHHA, is very
common here thanks to its much higher power and almost-clear channel
1610. Not so the third, CHTO 1690 in Greek (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** MEXICO. 1549.82, March 19 at 0200 UT, JBA carrier again aside the
1550.00 stations, presumed XEREL Morelia. I`ve asked Mike Jeziorski,
Qro., if he has anything further on this (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 6935.0 AM, March 19 at 0138, JBA pirate music.
These say it`s Sycko Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,142425.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, re Station YHWH: ``I had corresponded with?the op
sometime back and he wrote that the song was actually recorded
under the pseudonym "Lace" by himself and his (then) wife. He sent me
a CD that had it and a few other songs he did at the time. best - Rick
in Arizona Barton`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)
** NORTH AMERICA. 11529.9, it seems we won`t be hearing ex-`Hikari FM`
on SW. FYI:
``[WOR] Pirate on 11529.9 kHz. (formerly Hikari FM) to leave SW, in favor of?MW
(1710 kHz.) -- Hi Glenn - Here is my latest (March 14) correspondence?from
Ivan, the operator of 1710 kHz. I will miss chasing his SW signal to hear?his
unique musical selections. Ron Howard (Monterey, Calif.)
"Yeah I do not think I should do 11530 anymore and should focus on 1710?kHz. It
seems like it is possible to reach your area at night if I dedicate
the?resources to it. On top of that I am getting attention locally on 1710 kHz.
It?can be heard 24 kilometers away during the day and that is just with
25?watts. However, as soon as I get a decent signal out, I will move away
from?1710 so that I do not have to deal with XEPE which is strong in your
area.?I will let you know once I do that.
The shortwave transmitter just kind of sucks as compared to the MW
transmitter, it is more powerful but the modulator is sensitive and just
kind?of junk. But class G can be just as efficient as class D, it is just
bulkier. I?think going forward the plan will be to disassemble the shortwave
antenna?and use the wire from it to make the inverted L longer and shrink
the?loading coil. Then I can build a 100 watt class G MW transmitter and
will?be getting a decently strong signal into your area at night. You can
listen in?your car, lol, you cannot do that on shortwave {sic}. My hope with
11530?was to reach Asia, but I do not think I can do that with what I have at
the?moment, I need a directional antenna which is not feasible to put up here.
So you can forget about 11530 at this point in time. I am not going to be?on it
for a while and by the time I will get the idea to try again it will be with?a
different transmitter and probably in a different location. Last time I
tried?MW, I failed (I was dumb and didn't use single core wire for the
antenna)?but this time I am getting out at night so I think It will be better
to do it?instead. Kind of like killing two birds with one stone here, I get
nighttime?coverage and local coverage which average people can listen to.
Maybe?getting into British Columbia is not an option but I think I will reach
more?people this way. Very Best Regards."`` (via Ron Howard, WOR iog)
``1710 is a non-starter in BC (coastal) as the channel is totally dominated?by
Travis AFB. He needs to consider another channel. Perhaps just?outside of the
MW band --- 1720? 73, Walt Salmaniw`` (via Glenn Hauser,?WOR)
** SPAIN. 9690, 12030, 17715, Wed Mar 19 at 2300, token English from
SNR, VG on all but JBA on 17755 into Maryland SDR, preview something
about Eurasia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** TURKEY. 5960.004-, March 19 at 2257, VOT not off the air, IS & IDs,
S9+40/50 into UTwente, 2300 s/on English, but no time to listen yet;
2336 music, 2340 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 2348
``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music. 2354 s/off as if it`s 1330 on
13635, awry, 2355 IS to 2356* uncovering the 6CI which was quite the
understation (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2286 monitoring: ``From Richard
Lemke, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, the desk of Richard?s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), antenna: random
long wires in the trees, WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2286, 9395 kHz,

18 UTC 2025 [Tue] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``
Not confirmed Tuesday March 18 at 2330 on WRMI 9395; at 2329, S8/9+10
into Plymouth MN SDR - but totally blocked by huge noise covering
entire waterfall for two minutes starting precisely at 2330; some
local problem, then OK with WOR 2286 confirmed. Meanwhile I
immediately tried nearby Minneapolis SDR where it was clear S9+10.
Also confirmed UT Wednesday March 19 at 0045 the 0030 on SW Radio,
Germany, 3975.003-, S8/9+5 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday March 19 at 2030 on SW Radio, Germany,
3975.004- S9+10 into UTwente.
Also confirmed Wednesday March 19 at 2100 on WBCQ, 7490 -23 Hz =

UNIDENTIFIED. 1030 kHz, March 19 in the 06/07 UT hour, nothing but
continuous praise music in Spanish. Sounds like from a single
performing group, song after song. Suspect KCWJ MO, Radio Vida.
Radio-locator leads to the network website
https://radiovida.com/about/
which does not include any station on 1030! HQ is in Weslaco TX, so
flagship is KRGE 1290. Also detailed program sched by day and time,
https://radiovida.com/programacion/
no zone specified, but should we assume it be CDT = UT-5? Most outlets
are in CT, but not all, and there are also in Argentina, Honduras,
M?xico. With some blanx and no consistency during the 1-2+ am hour,
which might correlate with all the `fill` music I am hearing. Late at
night I`m normally offline, but will have to try to match webstream.
At 1700 UT, stream runs long string of IDs in English starting with
KRGE but not the whole list as on website; did not catch KCWJ
included. Are all stations taking the simultaneous network feed,
possibly inserting local IDs?
How about KCTA 1030 Corpus Christi, 50 kW daytimer + limited hours
depending on WBZ SR/SS but should never be on in the nightmiddle.
Weekday program sked shows starting at 4 am CT = 09 UT, and final
program starting at 8:32 pm = 0132 UT, so until 0200?? Entire program
sked does not show a single title in Spanish, altho NRC AM Log
classifies it as EE/SS:REL. That ``SS`` is the only reason I
considered it a possibility, besides running overtime (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
