SAUDI ARABIA 11935 kHz Republic of Yemen Radio, 1800 UT on 7 April.
Tune-in to news and reports in Arabic, ended at 1827UT with presumed ID
mentioning "Yemeniyah" and a series of announcements. Followed the broad-
cast on thisparticular day for the next 90 minutes or so with a mix of
programming - consisting of short talks, a discussion, musical interludes,
phone-in (withlight-hearted chat and laughing), short play, some a capella
singing; filler-type tune at times, an Islamic-related address by a female
mentioning "Muhammed", a couple of patriotic-sounding songs; lots of
mentions of Yemen atone time or another.
Went abruptly off mid-sentence at 2058 UT (and on 8th - off at 2058 UT;
9th - off at 2058 UT; 10th - off at 2101 UT; 11th - off at 2057 UT. Buzz-
ing noticeable on some days, which disappears when the audio goes off).
Fair to good.

INDIA/BHARAT 9620 kHz Akashvani External Services, Bengaluru, at 1925
UT on 12 April. Arabic service in progress until 1930 UT, then switched to
what appeared to be news in Hindi for a few seconds before the IS kicked
in at 1931 UT and opening announcements in French at 1932 UT. This service
in French also included the regular "Spotlight" segment in English at
2000-2015 featuring a discussion & " key outcomes from President" Portugal
and Slovakia visits; (this programme matched the latest edition of "Spot-
light" available on the Akashvani app). Good.
(Tony Rogers-Birmingham-UK; NASWA Electronic Flashsheet #1199 April 13)
9860 kHz Akashvani (Bengaluru-Doddaballapur bcast center site), 0100 UT,
on Apr 9. Sindi lang section. IS before ToH heard. Break in transmission
at 0100:40 with return at 0101:20 UT. Fair to poor.
(Tony Pavick-BC-CAN, via NASWA Electronic Flashsheet #1199 April 13)
9860 kHz All India Radio / Akashvani External Services, 0115z, Apr 12,
in listed Sinhalese targeting ITU zone 41NW (India plus Pakistan). 250 kW
at 325 degr azimuth. Sinhalese is the primary language of Sri Lanka so I'm
not certain why they are aiming NW rather than SE.
Is there a significant Sinhalese diaspora in India and Pakistan ?
{rather Sinhalese national working as foreign workers though
on Saudi peninsula / UAE, Kuwait and on Israel agriculture fields too ?
- probably, ed.}
Off at 0130 UT. A glance at the day / night map appears to show an all
daylight path but I think the signal must be enhanced by the gray line
since the reception is better than I usually get from India. My local sun-
set is at 0054z.
(Jerry Lenamon-TX-USA, via NASWA Electronic Flashsheet #1199 April 13)
11810 kHz AIR Pashto Service via Bengaluru, April 8, usual good signal at
1235 UT with mellow, entrancing subcontinental mx. This is a reliable fqy
for daily SWLing . . .

** BRAZIL. 11780, Apr 18 at 0150, token English segment from RNB/RNA
already underway, still interviewing that woman from Bel?m, Par?. VG
via local `Brasila` SDR. 0154 into Spanish voiceover of same,
specified as Part 4. I think they need a bit more time and a lot more
variety in subject matter (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** GERMANY. 6070, Apr 18 at 1700+, Uncle Bill`s Melting Pot via Ch
292, featuring music from Lesotho. S9/+10 into UTwente. His voice
announcements seem somewhat muffled. Repeats at 2100 on 3955, Sun Apr

** MEXICO. 1549.81, Apr 18 at 0601, JBA carrier hetting 1550 stations

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11935.000-, Apr 18 at 1624, Rep. of Yemen Radio via
Riyadh on near-exact frequency for a change, as Wolfgang Bueschel

transmitters. Now UTwente shows 11934.999.3 varying to 11934.999.6,
close enough. ACI from stronger English on 11940, which is CRI via
Kashgar, East Turkistan, this hour only, std denunciation (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** SWITZERLAND [non]. 17555, Apr 18 at 1606, a C.M. Obrecht music

English, also YL voice in French; promotes some meeting on 17 May of
the R. Taiwan International Listeners Club (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public

Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 7505, Apr 18 at 0608, undermodulated English, S9+35/40 as
WRNO is not only active again but running late into night (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 750, Apr 18 at 0518 UT, Spanish gospel music from KMMJ,
Grand Island NE, with WSB mutually nullable at right angles. Again,
KMMJ is NOT authorized to broadcast at night; but WSB could care less,
as it`s now an FM station tail wagging the dog of outdated AM. Is
there still an FCC monitoring station in Grand Island? I vaguely
recall visiting it many years ago (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** VATICAN. 15595, Apr 18 at 0617, ME language at S5/S8, the SSOB. VR
is scheduled in Arabic at 0610-0630 daily except Sundays, but this did
not sound like regular Arabic. Since it`s ``Good`` Friday, there may
be schedule variations. Standard remarx about howcome this service to
ME make it backwards so well to NAm (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
UNIDENTIFIED. 860, Apr 18 at 0645 UT, plug local news on --- and 92.5
FM, WSOM. I`m not finding any matches, even fuzzy trying F and N
instead of S and M in various combinations. However radio-locator
leads to WSON, Henderson KY, on 860 and 96.5, https://wsonradio.com/
Could be that. Not unusual to hear otherstuff at night besides KKOW,
such as French from CJBC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
