Thanks this week for financial support from Terry Colgan, N5RTC of
Texas Radio Shortwave, via PayPal in US funds but not necessarily, to
woradio at yahoo.com, ``thanks for your hard work, keeping us
up-to-date on all things broadcasting.``

One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser,
P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 USA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 9960, May 29 at 0547, JBA carrier, so R Vanuatu is back on
air; on indoor random wire during lightning storm. However, Ron Howard
reports:

``May 29 (Thursday UT) am hearing Radio Vanuatu on 9960, BUT is only
with a strong open carrier, with no modulation (no audio!) from 0600+
via SDR remote in NZ. Again have notified the station. Radio Vanuatu
on 9960, at 0658* UT cut off the air; switched to 3945, but again only
with an open carrier with no audio. At 0820 UT, Radio Vanuatu on 3945,
is still just an open carrier with no audio. Radio Vanuatu (3945)
continues with just an open carrier (dead air) at 0920 UT.
Ron, Monterey, Calif`` - and Zacharias Liangas: ``1035z with only
carrier`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2297)

UNIDENTIFIED. Another reply about this: ``Glenn, When I see the
carrier on 6938, it is almost always accompanied what I call ?the
ladder? that stretches from a hair over 6942.5 to about 6946. Although
I have recorded hours of broadcasting on 43 meters, and check 6938
regularly, including using USB, I have never seen or heard any audio.

In this shot at around 0145 on 26 May, the 6938 signal is about 30 dB
above the background noise ? plenty for something to be heard or seen
on the waterfall if there were something to see or hear. The yellow
band is the bandwidth (1350 Hertz) of the receiver tuned to 6938.000.
Ron Hunsicker`` (via Glenn Hauser, WOR)
