** ANTARCTICA [non]. Midwinter special from BBCWS, June 21 at 2130:
did not expect it to be listenable direct, way offbeam on all three
frequencies, so fished around various SDRs closer to the target.
Falklands offline. Best Goi?nia, also Bras?lia.?

Kiwi map shows one in the middle of ocean between RSA and Antarctica,
but nothing about where it is except for co?rdinates. Does it have to
be on any land? Here is how it`s labeled: Niendorf a.d.St. {whatever
that mean} | Grid JO53HO21, ASL 72m, [map], SNR 29/25 dB Antenna:
MiniWhip. The map leads to: 53-35-19.9S, 10-36-02.8E but still no
name, and no land but the pin. Looks like closest known island. but
not close enough, is extremely remote Bouvet, 54-42S, 03-36E. At first
check 2127 it`s got something weak on 5960, nothing on 12065 or
9575.?

At 2130, Bras?lia 12065 at S3/S6, as programmme opens about S Georgia.
At 2135 I check direct: JBA carriers only on 9575, 12065. At 2139 I`m
listening via Goi?nia, 9575 S6/S8 is best of bunch but noisy. I`m just
going to listen to it on web later. 2156 final check: about S Georgia,
`Fisherman Blues` by The Waterboys -- lots of music but only snippets
in limited time, and mention Bird/Byrd Island. Says 27 nations are
represented, not just Britain, and also greets us listeners elsewhere.
Hostess is Cerys pronounced Kerys, Matthews, and 9575 off promptly by
2200.?

See my previous report for web linx. Now the ``OK`` one merely leads
to the blocked one! Can anyone suggest another recording of the whole
show? Off SW reception if necessary, but someone could download the
studio file where it is available, and share it with us. Or is it
``available`` only in Antarctica? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6924.95 AM, June 22 at 0151, JBA music direct from
some pirate. Several logs here at earlier hours, as ION Radio, 6925,
but the last one at 0146, ``S5 with no hint of audio, frequency seems
more centered on 6924.940``:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,146813.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 5890, June 22 at 0628, WWCR with Brother
Scare. Normally I tune across these hurriedly like the plague, but he
was exulting in being widely heard from a European station on 1631
kHz, as he mentioned repeatedly. He got DX reports on that from as far
as Brasil, Iran -- without aid of a remote? Who knows. Of course this
was many years ago, but when, and what? In the x-band that should be a
pirate. Searching that number in my archive and at HFUnderground gets
far too many hits, most of them of course a time rather than frequency
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2300 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
June 21 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, VG S9+5/15 into UTwente where it`s
aimed.?

Also confirmed UT Sunday June 22 from 0329 the 0315v on WA0RCR, 1860
AM, S7/9+5 into N9AZZ IL remote.?

Also confirmed Sunday June 22 at 1902 the 1900 on IRRS SW via AM
Italia, 1322.994+, S9 but noisy into one of the Parma SDRs, just noise
at the other; and JBA at UTwente where measured. Next:

** U S A. 15770, Sat June 21 at 2300, WRMI via UTwente with `VOSR
International`, newish DX program, immediately following WOR. Who is
this guy? Maybe he gave his name once; if so, I missed it, and can`t
find it anywhere on website vosrinternational.com Location shown as
Moloka`i, and he talked about driving across Kaua`i to visit WWVH. At
least first semihour is a monolog, about scheduling, what he wants to
do, etc. This is apparently a new broadcast. He says on 9455 has moved
an hour earlier at 0300 instead of 0400. WRMI sked shows that is UT
Saturdays, and there is another one? Fridays at 2300 on 5010. The
15770 is new once a month with repeats between; the 9455 one is
alternate weeks - but still only repeats? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6861 approx., repetitive musicalish notes, no carrier,
can`t get a fix to resolve it in USB or LSB; pirate? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA [non]. In the WOR iog, very useful replies to questions
raised in my previous report: The remote in the middle of the ocean
between South Africa and Antarctica: OOOPS, Kiwi map put it at
latitude south instead of north! From Alexander Miatlikov, Ukraine:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niendorf_an_der_Stecknitz?
``Niendorf an der Stecknitz is a municipality in the district of
Lauenburg, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. Coordinates: 53?35?N
10?36?E``?

``I think this receiver is in Germany (Niendorf an der Stecknitz), but
registered with "S" rather than "N" in its coordinates. It could be on
a boat I supposed, but I suspect administator finger trouble. Cheers,
Chris`` Mackerell, NZ.

``I recorded the whole 30-minute version using the U. Twente SDR
receiver with good quality but it might take me awhile to do a formal
archiving. I?ll see if I can put it somewhere temporarily tomorrow and
then share the link. ? Richard Langley``

** TURKEY. 9875.019-, Sunday June 22 at 2049, VOT English S9+20/30
backwards into UTwente, starting `Letterbox` after music break. Cemre
says toward end of the month the QSL dept. compiles email reports and
forwards them to her for show. That could explain why so much of the
correspondence is from QSL-seekers. 1) Bulgaria. 2) Annan? Mohand?
India, pres. of an SWL club since 1990y with 338 members worldwide.
Will have a contest about VOT, asking several questions. She answers
some of them already, such as the English service gets about 100
emails per month. 2) Andre, Russia. Letters, I guess meaning postal as
distinct from e: 3) China, two from same. 4) India? SWL club. 5)
Colorado. 6) Sichuan, China. 7) last: Malaysia, QSL for Spanish.
Closing and 2106 theme, tune-out. I have a very hard time copying
names, especially with some distortion as received by UTwente (Glenn

** U S A. Re previous report: ``VOSR, at 2300 on WRMI 15770, is for
Euro listeners; the guy hosting the show is known as WaveCrest Guy on
YouTube, with monitoring samples from various receivers and with
different antennas. Another great Hawaii DXer, following the lead of
such notables as Dale Park from the 80s, and Dr Richard E Wood. It's a
great spot for trans-Pacific SW and MW, if you have the right
equipment for the task. Joe Hanlon, NJ`` - so his real identity
