** BENIN. 1476 kHz, Fri July 4 at 0430, and still 0452 UT, JBA carrier
is the only trace of trans-Atlantic MWDX, surely TWR Parakou. Seems a
bit late; Mark Pettifor in IN, and Tim Tromp in MI say it signs on at
*0313. No, sunrise not until 0535 UT and varies little during the year
at 9+ degrees north. MWlist says morning broadcasts are M-F only,
0320-0430 in Hausa, 0430-0550 in Igbo. Presumably could hear TWR IS at
least around start, change and stop times. This is the only TA sig of
high power, 150/200 kW except for UAE 200 kW, well into dayside. TWR
on 1566 which we used to get better in mornings, is still evenings
only, daytime for us (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA [and non]. Another huge sporadic E FM DX opening July 4!
Already in progress when I join at 1507 UT, constantly until I suspend
for lunch and R&R at 1818, and just a little more almost a hour later.
At least from: NY, ON, MI, ND, MB, SK. Will take another day at least
to fully research and report, approx. 92 discrete log entries
including repeats of same stations. DXMAP showed MUF spikes around 150
MHz, and multiple paths across central/eastern US almost solid red! A
major nexus around Chicago but does not account for my western Canada
catches, Teaser: starts with Fox Sports Radio on 87.7+ MHz, which
WTFDA FM DB shows has to be WQSE-LD in Syracuse NY, 2.75 kW, -61 m =
below average terrain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9790, July 4 at 0349, S9+25 of suppressed/distorted
modulation in unreadble English, CRI relay as usual. Something`s
always wrong at RadioCuba. Also scheduled for another hour at 04 in
Cantonese (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, July 4 at 0356, S9+20/25 of suptorted music, hardly
matters whether English or Spanish. Something`s always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 15445 & 15665, July 4 at 0423, Russian // at S7/S9,
CRI as scheduled, via Kashgar and Urumqi respectively toward Europe
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 13790, July 4 at 0428, S9+20/30 of BBC Somali relay,
M-F at 0400-0430, the SSOB (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 7475, July 4 at 0630, JBA signal here, not earlier,
sounds like Josiah, Station YHWH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. TOMBS still on WRMI, WBCQ: see USA

** SPAIN. 17715 S9+20/30, 15500 S9+20/25, 15520 S9/+15, 15390 S7/S9,
into Georgia SDR, Fri July 4 at 2203, token English from SNR, news
including Pride march, anniversary of same-sex marriage in Spain; 2206
contact info; 2207 interview about an exhibition at a costume museum,
``Ra?ces`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, July 4 at 2202, no signal from VOT English into
UTwente, nor accidentalternate 9875, nor a couple chex later in the
hour. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 11930, Fri July 4 at 2133, Greenville has reactivated
another R. Mart? frequency, VG on the ATS-909 portable with clipon, //
11860 but no 13605. Also at 2148 on the two 11s only, not 9565 tho may
have been on at some point. By 2204 all are off, presumably until
Monday morning, unless they are expanding incrementally.? Tnx to tip
from Marshall Reel, Maryland, WOR iogroup of 11860, 11930 and 13605 at
1955 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Thanks for financial support this week from Peter Robinson, Preston

funds, to woradio at yahoo.com

Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. WTWW: I was about to send this to George McClintock, times
in CDT, when he phoned so we discussed it. Says 5920 running only 30
kW until he can check out some stuff:

``George, Well, I`m hoping 5085 will be on for WOR 2302 at 10 pm -
9930 finally went off at 8:37, but nothing yet on 5920 or 5085 by
8:42. O, 5920 on at 8:43 - but then it`s pretty weak, something else?
O, off at 8:45? 5085 on at 8:44 - Good, here we go, Glenn``

I should add that on 9930 at 0129 we heard both its change to 5920
announcement, and then the 5920 s/off, altho it wasn`t on yet (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9455, July 4 at 0348 WRMI still with TOMBS here, S9+35/40.
The System K grid shows this hour 03-04 M-F is BLANK! Ashamed? Also //
but not synch on much weaker S9+5/15 via WBCQ 7489.9 (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5800, 5850, 5950, 7780, 9455, July 4 at 0455, `Classic
Redneck Radio`` on all these WRMIs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` chex of WBCQs into NH remote, July 4 at 2356:
3265 OFF. IS & ID loop on both 5130 -85 Hz = 5129.915 at S9/+5, and
6160 -73 Hz = 6159.927. 7490 - 77 Hz = 7489.923, FKB at S8/9+10. 9330
*2358 with IS & ID, then overcome by WLC theme music, S9/+10,
presumably about to join 7490 // 5130. But `AAAWWW` introduced as
originally aired May 30, 2025, ``let`s get flushing``, as I already
reported. Never mind (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1280.165, July 4 at 0440, but not at 0453, JBA carrier
hetting 1280.0 stations. Later I see a match only 3 Hz away in MW
offsets!:
``1280,168 CHL Radio La Palabra (Osorno) [1280.143-] 2024-08-25``
WRTH shows CD128, 10/1 kW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1530 kHz, July 4 at 0435 UT, S9 dead air dominates,
can`t get a fix on it; could it be WCKY? Some audio JBA underneath.
Lots of daytimers listed including KXTD Wagoner OK 5 kW (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)
This report dispatched at 0208 UT July 5 -- Happy 4th!
