** CANADA. 990, Aug 23 at 0602 UT, Canadian news items, must be CBW
coming in better than usual. I can`t imagine any UStation emphasizing
such news (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FINLAND [non]. 9500, Aug 23 at 1900, Radio Love Warbler supposed to
play again after two-week break, via Woofferton, but NO SHOW, tsk2. By
2000, 9500 is infested by OTH radar.?
Another try in 2 weeks? See Full details:
https://www.creativefolkestone.org.uk/artists/hanna-tuulikki/At 1956, almost
over, Alexander Miatlikov discovers it`s on 9550 instead!
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GERMANY. 6160 & 3975, Aug 23 at 1800, R. Titanic International, via
SW Gold Radio, Germany, former pirate returns to celebrate its 50th
anniversary. Good S9+10/20 reception of both into DL7APJ remote. I
listen to the first 15 minutes, starting mostly English, after 1808
mostly German. 1814 mentions Pink Floyd. Continuous music, but also
almost continuous chatter as the ex-DJs are enjoying being on the air
again; rather breakneck pace, tiring for the listener, and one cannot
really appreciate the music. 1839 mentions Mark Brown/Braun?, station
founder. 1856 wrapping up first hour saying some different languages
are coming up; it`s to last 6 hours total. More info here:

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 2309 monitoring: as expected, no signal from

by next week.

Confirmed Saturday August 23 at 1449 the 1430 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.001+, S9+5 into UTwente.?

Also confirmed Saturday August 23 at 1600 on WRN North America
stream.

Also confirmed Saturday August 23 at 1735 the 1730 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.000 S9+10 and 3975.001+ S9 into UTwente.?

``Dear Glenn, waiting for the 50th anniversary and farewell broadcast
of Radio Titanic International, I happened to catch the final items of
your World of Radio programme via Shortwave Radio. First, the standard
sentence of praise: Thank you for still covering the more important
short wave news for us.
250823 6160.0 1755 2308 D Shortwave Gold, Winsen. E, World of Radio //
3975. 34433 HjBi (Dr Hansjoerg Biener)``

Thanks this week for financial support from Peter Robinson, UK, for a
very generous contribution not originally in US funds via PayPal to
woradio at yahoo.com?

One may also contribute via money order or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7570 & 7730, Aug 23 at 0633, these WRMIs are OFF, while 7780
remains, along with the usual 5 & 9 MHz channels (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Aug 23 at 0632, hymn at S9+30, so WRNO is again
inexplicably expanding into the night past usual closing circa 0400?
Even later, this report: ``7505 WRNO New Orleans LA (p); 1151-1200+,
8/23; EE Caribe-accented religihuxter abruptly cutoff @1157+ into
Billy Graham's Hour of Decision. No ToH ID or break. SINPO=4+3+344
(Harold Frodge, Alachua FL)`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1130 kHz, Aug 23 at 0605 UT, stupid sports talk in the
clear, must be KWKH Shreveport LA unimpeded by perpetual cheater with
music, KLEY Wellington KS. Have they suddenly gone straight with ONE
WATT at night? Chat fance. In daytime at 1514 is on air with promotion
about carrying local Wellington HSFB starting in September on
``Thunder Country 104.1 and 1130``. I don`t recall hearing that slogan
before, but I don`t listen to it deliberately; I see it is already as
such in new NRC AM Log. One watt: why in the world would FCC mandate
such a useless power to anystation, especially on an AM `clear`
channel? You can hardly expect them not to cheat with day power of a
hefty 250 watts available (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1180 kHz, Aug 23 at 0607 UT stupid sports talk again where
there is normally no such signal; // 1390 KCRC, not checked whether
exactly synchronized, so must be the only Fox Sports Radio on 1180 in
new NRC AM Log: KZOT Bellevue NE [Omaha] U4 25000/1000, so I daresay
this bigsig must be day power. Radio-locator shows day pattern is
roughly circular as almost ND; night pattern bulges toward the SW,
both from site across the narrow Missouri in IOWA. U4 classification,
an ``NRC invention``, means direxional day and night with different
patterns. See previous log, Aug 18 at 0637 when they were on Infinity
Sports Network; that was UT Monday, this is UT Saturday. Goodbye, R.
Mart?, hi, and WHAM (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
This report dispatched at 2046 UT August 23
