Hi Michael
There was a carrier yesterday on 11740 during the 1920-2020 VIRI English
transmission , but I could hear little or no audio modulation.
But today (17/9) at 1523 UTC the VIRI English transmission to South Asia
signed on and is audible with very low audio - listening on a Kiwi SDR in
India.
So VoIRI English is still on SW , but very difficult to hear with such low
modulation.

I was able to hear VoIRoI earlier this summer at 19.20 UTC 0n 11 740 kHz,
but with bad modulation. Now I can?t hear them there anymore. I have tried a
few other listed frequencies too, but nothing heard. Does anyone have an
idea if they are still broadcasting English on shortwave?
Best wishes,

the excellent "ABC Pacific Beat" coverage of PNG's 50th anniversary of
independence. But today I am monitoring about 0445+ UT (Sept 17), and
am not hearing any signal on 9960, 7260, 5040, 3945 or 2485 kHz,
checking via Kiwi SDR remotes in New Zealand. Have alerted the
station, so hope for their quick return to the air. Ron``
``Hi - Sept 18, at 0333 UT, hearing a very nice signal on 9960, in
French, via New Zealand remote. Happy they are back again. Ron``
``Hi Glenn - Sept 18 reply from Radio Vanuatu: "Hi Ron thank you for
listening to Radio programs on short wave. There was a power cut
recently, but we have managed to run everything again and hope you are
enjoying the programs on Radio Vanuatu shortwave. Regards"``
But my next check at 0712 Sept 18, 9960 is off; EiBi shows 9960
changes to 3945 at 0658/0659 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
